Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
The 3.6-star average is misleading — almost nobody actually rated it that. Opinion on front-of-house is split — those reviews land at 3.3 on average.
No one in this corpus comments on value for money at all. The single most common rating left here is 5 stars (12 of 20). Of the 20 rated reviews, 13 sit at four stars or better and 7 at two or below. Dates on these reviews range from Dec 2025 to Jun 2026.
Against that, the kitchen inspects well — an A (93/100), 1 intermediate and 4 basic violations at the most recent DBPR visit. The visit behind that grade was January 14, 2026. The trend across inspections is improvement. That puts it ahead of 53% of graded kitchens in Orange County. For specifics, the last inspection cited cross-contamination and in-use food dispensing utensils properly stored.
This is a listing where the two measures each tell half the story. The reviews themselves follow, unedited and newest first.

Delicious and fast. Atom bombs are a great breakfast-Tijuana Flats opens early.
-
Went in to pick up my food ordered online specifically asked for no chicken but everything else on nachos and chicken but no jalapenos onions or salsa on the other nachos. They labeled both of the orders exactly how I asked online, but instead of no chicken and everything else they put chicken AND everything else. Also found a small blue piece of paper in it. On the other they put no chicken and no onions jalapenos or salsa. 🤦♀️

you could see the workers working hardest could be with pep in their step. I appreciate them working so hard not slow or anything like they actually appreciated their job.

Don’t expect good service after 9pm. Turn your signs and lights off. The manager was too busy watching tv in the back.

Always a pleasure eating and coming to this TJ Flats.

First time at Tijuana and I had a large hair in my bowl. Asked for a new bowl and it had another hair. I would watch out for your food.

The food was phenomenal as always, and the staff are always great. My grandson loves the artwork

I love the dos tacos Tuesday!
-
Love the crew here at Tijuana! Came in tonight after my shift and got grilled steak flautas! They were so tasty and the presentation was beautiful! They were a little busy when I got in and the manager G was working so hard to help his team!

We have been loyal customers at this Tijuana Flats for years, visiting weekly, and unfortunately the experience has been consistently disappointing. Mistakes with our orders happen almost every visit, but we’ve always tried to be understanding—even going as far as leaving without a meal we paid for due to their errors without making a scene. What’s most frustrating is that in all these years, no manager has ever taken the time to acknowledge these repeated issues or speak with us about them. Tonight was the final straw. There was yet another major mistake with our order. I politely brought it to an employee’s attention, and while they were very apologetic, the manager who came over was the complete opposite. He was rude, dismissive, and immediately argumentative. Instead of taking responsibility, he said that customers are “always complaining” at this location. That’s not surprising when mistakes happen so frequently and aren’t addressed properly. After years of giving this location the benefit of the doubt, we will not be returning.

the cashier was very friendly and bubbly, it's at the whole experience to be great.

The sauces set this eatery apart. The street tacos and cheesy steak tacos were my favorite entrees. The chips are especially good. I was visiting the area for a couple weeks and ate here 3 times.
-
Manager was real rude when coming to talk to me about the kids eat free code that I had forgotten about when ordering. He was real dismissive and didn’t even try to find a solution. We come here regularly and it was really upsetting. Be better to your customers.
