What diners say — our read

4.7 stars across 19 reviews, an A on the inspection — a rare case where both halves agree. Reviewers who mention front-of-house rate this place 4.8 on average — it is working in the restaurant’s favour. After that, portion size appears most often — 21% of the corpus, averaging 4.8.

The single most common rating left here is 5 stars (16 of 19). No one in this corpus comments on the state of the room at all. Of the 19 rated reviews, 18 sit at four stars or better and 1 at two or below.

Against that, the kitchen inspects well — an A (95/100), 1 intermediate and 2 basic violations at the most recent DBPR visit. The visit behind that grade was May 14, 2026. That puts it ahead of 61% of graded kitchens in Orange County. For specifics, the last inspection cited in-use food dispensing utensils properly stored and food-contact surfaces clean and sanitized.

Nothing here pulls in opposite directions — an unusually clean read. The reviews themselves follow, unedited and newest first.

FO-gettaboudit! Asking me to rate Boma is like asking how my 6 hour feather bed massage went! It was amazing ×7. Think Disney, add buffet, and you wind up at Boma. Nuff said.

Incredible food enhanced by great service and musical interludes!!

Great food, lots of choices both African inspired and All-American options. Traditional fruit juice just like we enjoyed the last time we came... many years ago. Our waitress Jessica was attentive without hovering.

I love Boma. I’ve eaten here for dinner once and breakfast probably 3-4 times. I love the atmosphere, the cast member service, the jungle juice (pog juice), and the lamb bobotie. I highly recommend eating here, this is one of my top Disney locations to eat. At dinner time you get zebra dome cakes for dessert and they are sooo good.

Great food and desserts both for breakfast and lunch/dinner. A bit pricy but that's disney. The hotel is beautiful to walk around before or after your meal. A lot of variety including a carving station, salads and several stew options. 2 things I would like to suggest: 1) have all stews available all days, especially the oxtail stew. It's a travesty that it's only available some days. 2) make zebra domes with no alcohol.

Great breakfast buffet. Tried a bit of everything. Must try the African inspired dishes, savory and spicy. The butterscotch toffee pudding made a great ending to the meal. Recommend to go on a day you don't go to the park. You will leave stuffed.

This buffet is my family’s favorite at Disney. We even canceled a character dining experience to come back here. Try the Mac and cheese, the sauce is made in house.

The restaurant is located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. It is in the Disneyworld Animal Kingdom park. They prepare a buffet breakfast or dinner with cuisine from various countries of Africa. The dining area is large but can get busy at peak times. I dined at the dinner buffet. Nice variety of soups, salads 🥗, appetizers, entrees, sides and desserts 🍨 with a carving station. Staff bring beverage requests and clear dishes quickly. The food was very good and interesting. Friendly and helpful staff.

Great food, I wish they had a tiny bit more options but I’m not complaining!

I can't get enough of this place... I remember when Animal Kingdome Loge opened... It's incredible after 24 years they've kept consistent high-quality on everything they do.

We chose Boma for our granddaughter's graduation dinner because we knew she would be tired after a long day and, being mildly autistic, can sometimes be sensitive to noise and overstimulation. The staff went above and beyond to help make the evening special. The day before our reservation, they assisted me in selecting a table that would provide a quieter environment, which made a tremendous difference. Throughout the evening, the staff was exceptionally attentive and genuinely caring. One of the most touching moments was when they presented my granddaughter with a card signed by team members in their native languages. It was a thoughtful gesture that she absolutely treasured and will remember for years to come. The food at both breakfast and dinner was outstanding and well worth the expense. More importantly, the kindness and attention shown to our family made us feel truly welcomed. We are grateful to the entire staff for helping make our granddaughter's graduation celebration so memorable.

BOMA is my top 3 places to have breakfast. Kona and Ohana are my other two. I love the variety here. I love the way they season their foods; so tasty. I love the desserts. I love the culture. We're definitely a BOMA family.

One of our favorites to visit. Food is always delicious and fresh and plenty of it.

Phenomenal buffet! WOW. We were blown away by their buffet foods, all from various African cultures and countries. It was one of those places you have to go for another plate even after you’re full. The buffet has a good variety of options but it’s moderately sized enough that you can try a lot of the food without feeling like you’re missing out on the rest.

Super allergy friendly. Amazing buffet. Coconut rice is to die for!! Super fun Boma Oasis drink with a light up lotus flower!

    Two words...Zebra Domes.

We can’t say enough good things about this place: it is definitely our new favorite buffet style restaurant at Disney world. All of the soups were delicious but the stand out to me was the land and beef stew, it was incredibly flavorful and my gf liked the salmon and the mustard sauce they had up at the meat station. The ribs were fantastically flavorful but especially when you put the bbq and mustard sauce on them and all of the desserts were great too but especially the bread pudding. The only thing that I think they should change/add is to either make the steak more flavorful (because it’s pretty bland) or to just add a gravy to put on the steak and mashed potatoes. Other than that, we DEFINITELY plan on going back during the next visit.

Boma - Flavors of Africa is one of my favorite Disney restaurants. It’s not cheap, but it’s a great meal in an incredible atmosphere. Boma is very popular, so be sure to make a reservation before you drive over to Animal Kingdom Lodge. This African-inspired buffet makes it look like you’re eating in an authentic marketplace, enjoying AYCE breakfast and dinner buffets. You can watch them cook in an “onstage kitchen.” They serve both American and African dishes, with a large variety of seasoned meats, seafood, salads, and desserts. There for dinner? Be sure to get the zebra down dessert. It’s just as good as all the online critics say!
