Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
If these 28 reviews agree on a topic, it is front-of-house. Reviewers who mention the staff rate this place 4.1 on average — it is working in the restaurant’s favour.
More reviewers landed on 5 stars than any other score — 17 of 28. What nobody raises here is tidiness — it goes unmentioned across all 28 reviews. 21 of 28 rated reviews are four stars or higher; 5 are two or lower.
On the inspection side the picture is cleaner: DBPR graded this kitchen an A (96/100), with 1 intermediate and 1 basic violations. Whatever the reviews argue about, sanitation is not the weak point. That result dates from November 13, 2025. Ranked against Orange County, it is safer than 66% of the restaurants we score. What the inspector actually wrote up: wiping cloths and food-contact surfaces clean and sanitized.
Nothing here pulls in opposite directions — an unusually clean read. The underlying reviews are reproduced in full underneath.

Steak was great! Shrimp cocktail also.
-
Bad notes: Don't order the halibut as it has no flavor. Also the kids steak is a hockey puck even if you order it medium rare. Good notes: The chicken was decent and so was the short rib. Overall the current summer menu is a disappointment for spending $250 on a meal.

Absolutely delicious! Everything was great here. We will definitely go again. There are so many items on the menu that I wanted to try! Good portions, and great service.

Our first visit was about 10 years ago. We are in the area for a conference and decided to revisit the Brown Derby. The hostess was able to move up our reservation a half hour, which was perfect. Our server, ( I think her name is Aimee?) had us in stitches. Her personality and quick wit were quite enjoyable. Food was prepared very well, except for the sneaky extremely hot peppers that were in my side dish for the pork chop. I survived... Our server was so upset about that, she brought me a side dish making sure they were removed. AWSOME CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!. Bravo to the entire staff at The Brown Derby.

We came tonight for dinner, there were several tables available that would appear to fit us but we were bundled in the back next to, I’m not kidding an open back door and what appeared to be a bunch of serving equipment with lots of folks walking by to the outside. I’ve been here before with my family and this was a polar opposite experience. We got left in the back and it took 15 minutes for us to even see a server to ask for drinks. Then another 40 for our meals which was made worse because they forgot one of our kids meals completely. It will be a long time before we try the Derby again.

It was rather loud for a more fine dining experience, but it was delicious!

Liked it, but did not loved it. I prefer restaurant with a theme, or very good restaurant. Here is Kind of an in between. The old Hollywood vibe is cool but not my favorite. The food is good but not extraordinary. The cob salad is still solid. Maybe i just wasnt feeling it that night. Maybe i Will give it another go next Time 👀

We did the Fantasia VIP package, and while it was a nice experience, I don't think it's necessary to fully enjoy the evening. Dinner was served before the show, and I had the filet mignon, which was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. For dessert, I had the chocolate cake, which was also excellent. Overall, I would definitely recommend the restaurant and enjoyed the meal. However, if you're debating whether to upgrade to the VIP package, I think it's skippable and you can still have a great experience without it.

Wonderful place to enjoy a sit down meal at Hollywood Studios. My adult daughter treated me to a Mother’s Day lunch. We both ordered the Fillet and it was perfect. I love the white table cloths and art deco ambiance. Fresh baked dinner rolls and heavenly chocolate cake (I didn’t have room). You won’t be disappointed! .

The history in pictures and the atmosphere were top notch. We will be visiting the Brown Derby every visit to Hollywood Studios Orlando.

The Brown Derby is a delightful place to visit, especially during the scorching weather when you crave air conditioning, delectable small bites, and refreshing margarita samplers. We began our culinary journey with the Char-grilled Octopus and the House-made Ravioli, both of which were incredibly delicious and perfect for sharing. The margaritas are presented on a wire-holding tray with three enticing flavors, allowing us to savor a variety of tastes. It’s a fantastic stop and highly recommended!

Mediocre at best! For this to cost two meal credits is a ripoff. Yes, the atmosphere is nice, it’s Disney. Workers are friendly. The menu had about 5 items to choose from. Food was okay. I got the filet and it was just okay. Do yourself a favor and go to Yak and Yeti our some other restaurant ….

Over all the food was enjoyable. But ordered the shrimp for the apatizer and it wasnt fully cleaned and about half of the shrimp still had the poop vein in them. We told the waiter and they replaced it, but they didnt seemed too bothered by it and didnt offer any thing to make up for that disgusting over sight, wasnt even 1 shrimp, it was half of the shrimp, so about 3 out of the 6 shrimp they give you. For the price of the meal and being disney, this shouldnt be happening and if it does, they should do literally anything to make up for their mistake. I have germophobia and that really grossed me out and almost made me not want to eat the replacement shrimp. The waiter was a bit pushy. We were trying to decide what to get, and he just stood there telling us what we should get, and not giving us much time to look over the menu. The place is kinda cool looking with all the drawings on the wall of celebrities. But doesnt make up for the service or food issues.

This review is for the Lounge - Our server, Danielle, was great. Sweet, personable and efficient. My husband and I shared a Cobb salad and escargot, both of which were delicious! But Danielle made it extra special!!!

Excellent beverages. Would recommend the short rib.

People always expect great service on all Disney Properties however it's nice to give extra good comments on a particular server at Hollywood Studios at the Brown Derby restaurant. Gilbert was my server. He was attentive, people hear you however it's unusual to find someone how LISTENS to you when you are asking for special service when ordering your food and drinks. Gilbert did this for me on 4-28-2026 at the Brown Derby. The Manager should be very proud of this person. Kudos for such a special man who can take care of their customers and Gilbert did this. The location is in Orlando, FL. Thank you!

Service was very slow. Food not great.

Not the same Brown Derby! Shrimp cocktail was warm. Short rib was overcooked. Sadly it is not only movies that Disney is ruining!
-
Outstanding Disney dining experience. Service and atmosphere absolutely live up to all expectations of the Brown Derby in Los Angeles. Shrimp Cocktail with wasabi cocktail sauce was amazing, Cobb Salad always a hit, kale and beet salad was great. Filet was perfectly prepared. Don’t miss if you’re looking for a very nice dining experience for lunch or dinner. Staff was great.

The outdoor seating is great. There's a patio right outside as well as a patio that used to be for the Staring Rolls Cafe that is now been closed for some time. There's an open bar right down off this patio. Great place to get out of the heat and away from the crowds

We went to the Brown Derby really only to check it off our list of fine dining restaurants at Disney, and we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere, food, and service were all excellent. We had the prosciutto croquettes as an appetizer, delicious. The famous Cobb salad was a must, and it lived up to its fame, just wonderful. And the pork tenderloin was probably the best we ever had. The sweet potato polenta side was pretty amazing too. For dessert, we didn't do the famous grapefruit cake that everyone else around us seemed to be having, but we went for the orange chocolate hazelnut cake, which was scrumptious. Oh, the warm bread to start also hit the spot. So everything was really "magical". We are already looking forward to another meal at the Brown Derby. Thanks! Enjoy!

Food was delicious! Service was excellent- Gilberto was so amazing 💕💕

really enjoyed the patio

Best meal we had in Disney World. Waiter was attentive and helpful, restaurant felt sophisticated and refined compared to the other zoos we visited. Chef very accommodating to substitutions. Only place we ate that felt like it was a reasonable value for the price and would go again.

I really like dining here and do so when in town. It is located inside Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World. Reminds me of the one in California. Check the photos for the atmosphere. The service is always impeccable. Home of the chopped salad. The only place I can get a flight of my favorite port. It is a higher end cost wise but worth it for those special occasions.
-
4th visit recently - new chef so pictured entree is no longer on menu, but still great. Service great. Up there with the best butter I've ever tasted.
-
Cobb salad was good but I expected more evidence of egg and turkey. Service was friendly and courteous, it just took a while to wait and settle my bill
-
While the place is expensive, it's the most relaxing restaurant in Hollywood Studios.
