Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
Diners rate this place well. The inspector did not. Service tends to be raised approvingly here, averaging 4.2 stars. After that, pacing appears most often — 20% of the corpus, averaging 3.8.
If you had to pick one number to represent this corpus it would be 5, the most frequently given rating (15 reviews). A third strand, freshness, appears in 15% of them at 4.0 stars. 17 of 20 rated reviews are four stars or higher; 2 are two or lower.
The inspection record is the harder read. DBPR graded this kitchen an F (57/100) on 3 high-priority, 2 intermediate, and 8 basic violations — a verdict the review average does not reflect. DBPR last walked in on June 10, 2026. Ranked against Lake County, it is safer than 5% of the restaurants we score. The citations behind that grade include cross-contamination and in-use food dispensing utensils properly stored.
What to do with that is a judgement call — the reviews describe the experience, the grade describes the conditions behind it. Everything above is computed from the 20 reviews reproduced below.

Food and drinks always on point! Service was excellent.

Had a great 1st experience. Had the blackened grouper reuben and it was awesome! I dont remember our servers name but he did great as well. Will be back next time we're in the area!

Awesome restaurant! One of my new favorites! Can't wait for my next visit!

We found this place as we were headed to Clermont. Michael was our waiter..he was great and helpful in helping us choose our meals...he was attentive but didn't interrupt us! The food was great we had the tomato soup, make sure you get the salad with the vinaigrette on the side it's pretty strong, and we had the pork chop with mashed potatoes and green beans - it was really tasty! The only thing I would recommend for the restaurant is to add some acoustic panels on the wall and perhaps the open areas above the booths to dampen down the very, very loud noise from all the conversations. It was hard to hear my spouse across the table. Otherwise we love the story behind the restaurant and wanted to visit it!

The Crooked Spoon is easily our favorite spot in Clermont. The food is always fantastic, and the specials are one of the main reasons we keep coming back. Every time we visit, there's something new that catches our eye, and we've never been disappointed. The cocktail specials are just as good and always worth trying. You can tell a lot of thought goes into the menu, and it shows in every dish. Great food, great drinks, and consistently great experiences. Clermont is lucky to have a place like The Crooked Spoon.

The food was excellent but our server was slow. We waited over 15min to get the beer that was ordered. Then we had to flag down another server to get our bill. The other server was rude and said that we didnt have to be "so dramatic". Needless to say if you want good food go there but beware of the service.

Outdated environment. Very friendly guy I think is the manager at the bar but trying to call to place an order for take out before they closed and the girl says “unfortunately we close at 8:25”… it was 8:26 I said”well google has 9pm”… she said “we stop accepting take out at 8:25” I asked “but if I come in before 9 take out or even to sit eat at the restaurant, you’ll accept my order?” She confirmed “yes” I said “well that doesn’t make a lot of sense if your kitchen is still open why can’t I place an order?” She had no answer for me. Ridiculous.

So we were driving by and happened to notice the crooked spoon and just pulled in.Because we were hungry and we never had been here before. And we always liked to try out places. We've not been to before. So we sat outside and I never got inside. So I didn't get any pictures of the inside, but there's a cute little bar inside with some boots. And tables. The food was really good. The service was great. The server was so knowledgeable.I've heard restaurant it was incredible.

Great place and good food!

Casual eatery. Nice place to sit outside on the patio to relax and eat. I wouldn’t advise coming here if you were in a hurry. It is more of a place to eat and take your time. Service follows that pace. The blue cheese chips are excellent! The specialty cocktails were excellent as well.

Been coming here 10 years, the food is always outstanding. The crooked spoon was the place I met my now wife (we have 2 kids) back in 2018 and the food is just as good now if not better than when we started coming. Tonight was no different. Arrived right before 5pm to order multiple special entrées which were all fantastic per usual. Our one and two year old tore up some redfish (last order !) and pork loin. I had the bison burger and it was easily top 3 I’ve ever had. Shoutout crooked spoon kitchen and as always the bar staff . Long live the spoon 🥄!!!

We love this place. We try to have lunch or dinner here whenever we are in Clermont.

Excellent will be back. Shrimp tacos were spot on. Loved the pbj wings.

Met friends here for dinner. This was a good meeting spot location wise for us. Was very pleasantly surprised! I had a yummy turkey sandwich and the chips (that came with my sandwich) are absolutely delicious! We had the nicest, funniest waiter. His personality was just so great! (We were there at 6pm in the back corner booth next to the kitchen on 5/2/26 if that helps identify him). A really nice evening! I think we will try the brunch next!

Burger was raw, waitress was good, food took 50 minutes from order to table. Its been better in the past.

Ordered the beer pretzel cheese dip appetizer To start. Lovely soft pretzel bread dipped in warm cheese yumminess. We chose the cocoa chocolate burger and Reuben groper sandwich for our mains. Both were generous and uniquely flavoured. Cooked perfectly and of course delicious. Large offering of craft beers, great service and atmosphere. Highly recommend.

I've been coming here for years, but a recent visit made me remember why I love this restaurant so dearly. Aside from the fond memories we've made here, the atmosphere, service, and food continues to amaze me. This time I ordered the Mahi sandwich, which actually isn't on the menu anymore, but our server was kind enough to make an exception when I inquired about it. Everything, from the juicy, perfectly seasoned fish, to the crunchy vegetables and warm, savory bun, was magnificent. I don't think I've ever devoured a fish sandwich that fast. And service was so quick & efficient too! We were seated, had our order taken, food served, and ate our meals all in less than 30-40 mins. The Crooked Spoon is a Clermont favorite for a reason! :)
