Community Rating
Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
There is no middle ground in these 29 reviews. Front-of-house tends to be raised approvingly here, averaging 4.3 stars. Wait times is the next most common subject, in 24% of reviews (averaging 3.1).
The single most common rating left here is 5 stars (21 of 29). The split is 23 positive to 4 negative across 29 rated reviews, with 2 in the middle.
On the inspection side the picture is cleaner: DBPR graded this kitchen an A (100/100) with no violations cited. Whatever the reviews argue about, sanitation is not the weak point. The visit behind that grade was May 6, 2026. Across its inspection history the kitchen is declining, which argues for reading the older reviews with caution. Ranked against Brevard County, it is safer than 100% of the restaurants we score. The inspector left without citing anything — worth noting, since most visits find something.
Nothing here pulls in opposite directions — an unusually clean read. Full reviews follow below in the order they were left.

Overall great experience here. DJ Apache was on point with his music selection, drinks were strong & reasonably priced, staff was friendly & personable with fast service. So much seating! Inside, outdoor, and rooftop bars! Great place to grab a drink - super close to the beach if you want to take a walk after! Deff about to be my new spot!

We went with a group of friends for my boyfriend’s birthday and our server was Stella both nights we went. She was amazing and so sweet. She kept checking on us and made sure we didn't need any other drinks. We didnt end up eating here besides some fries and nachos, which were both good. I dont recommend the Caribbean Jerk meatballs. Bartenders are all super nice and loved the DJ!!! Great time

Such a cute tiki bar! It isn't on the beach, but just across the road. We stopped here for some lunch and the staff was super friendly! The band playing was great, the music was low enough to be in the background and not overshadow anything else. The food was good and a reasonable price. I got the shrimp po-boy and my husband got the brisket grilled cheese double stacked. The ONLY downside is the inside and rooftop were both closed while we were there. There was a high top bar with fans in the corner and each table had an umbrella and we sat in the shade, but it didn't stop us from sweating a little.

Channel was superb as usual! We will be back as usual!

We stopped by Dirty Birds while visiting Cocoa Beach because the atmosphere looked fun, and honestly, that ended up being the best part of the experience. The staff was friendly, and our server apologized several times because the dinner rush hit all at once. We appreciated the communication and know that busy nights happen. That said, everything took quite a while, from getting drinks to receiving our food. Unfortunately, the food itself was disappointing. It was dry, lacked flavor, and just didn’t live up to the great vibe of the restaurant. It’s a place with a really cool atmosphere, and I wanted to love it, but the food just didn’t match the experience. Hopefully it was just an off night because the location and overall vibe have a lot of potential.

My family and I visit Cocoa Beach every summer. I read the reviews before eating at Dirty birds. I honestly have no idea how they have good reviews for the food. The atmosphere was awesome and our server was great. The food was horrendous from the appetizers to dinner. We ordered shrimp ceviche which was bland, I myself ordered the Mahi with dirty rice and vegetables. I took 1 bite of each and left the food of how tasteless it was. My son and sister ordered the chicken teriyaki which was a chicken breast with some sauce on it. Out of our table of 10 only 1 person enjoyed thier food. I was charged for my plate but was returned the funds of that 1 plate after I said something. The GM was totally oblivious on what's going on and just smiled. SUPER DISAPPOINTED!

Way too expensive for what you get and not enough space indoors. Service took a while.

I came here for my birthday! I had a blast met wonderful people. I sat with the manager and we talked all night. Thor made me his amazing specialty drinks.♥️ Anyone visiting Melbourne needs to go here!!!

Huge improvement over the former Area 142 space and the perfect addition to downtown Cocoa Beach! Hits the sweet spot between FLA-style chickee hut tiki bar outside and 50s/60s secret tiki bar inside. HUGE bar, corner stage, and LOTS of outdoor seating (both sunny and shady) downstairs, rooftop bar with bar seating and sunny patio seating, and a cool (literally and figuratively) old-school tiki bar vibe inside. Extensive drink (with tiki favs and signature cocktails, beer, wine, seltzers) and food menu, great staff (with new and familiar 4th Street faces), and a great spot, directly across the street from world-famous Cocoa Beach, for wasting away an afternoon and/or evening! UPDATE: Come on Dirty Birds, we need a Dirty Birds pelican tiki mug! Crappy hotel tiki bar J. Birds (just N on A1A) had their tiki mug (sculpted by Scott "Flounder" Scheidly) release party June 21st, so it is your turn!

It was ok. Nothing to write about.

Heartbreaking. Imagine finally choosing yourself for one night after working all day 7 days a week, only to have that moment taken away by someone on a power trip. June 20th at around 11:20pm I was not allowed in. Short guy with beard claiming to be the general manager checked my South Carolina driver’s license and deemed it fake because it did not have a hologram. How embarrassing that someone in that position lacks the knowledge to properly assess information right in front of him: the issue date, expiration date, the fact that IDs vary by state, and that I am clearly over 21. (He didn’t even have a scanner to verify it) I’m 27 years old, by myself and simply wanted to dance for a bit. I've even been here three other times. I carry myself confidently, and it felt like that rubbed him the wrong way as for some odd reason he added that they are about to close (with 40 minutes still left) . like okay? If my ID was really the issue, why bring that up? That's when it started feeling less like an ID concern and more like bruised ego behavior. I'm not even angry, I’m genially sad. I drove all the way out here looking forward to a night for myself and ended up walking the beach instead. I hope that power trip made you feel better, because it came at the expense of someone who finally took one night away from work to enjoy herself.. So if you’re a woman who carries herself well.. bring extra identification because apparently not everyone with this job title has the maturity or…

The atmosphere was okay. Anthony made our night. Drinks recommendations were great. He knew the menu like no other. Great server. Would come back just for Anthony! Food was not as good as the drinks.
-
It was Anthony, he was the man, knew everything about the menu and took our preferences into consideration. I have never had a better experience in Cocoa Beach than at Dirty Birds with Anthony. I wish there were more parties and events like this in the area.
-
Food could definitely be better!! I have been here before the brisket grilled cheese and a pasta dish was the best. HOWEVER ANTHONY is the BEST bartender and server. He made the best recommendations. He did so well & was so personable!
-
Anthony is the man. He was 3/3 on recommendations. He knew everything about the menu. Great service overall and amazing experience with Anthony as my server! Nobody moving like Anthony!
-
First time here. Had a great time. Anthony was great. Very attentive, personable and overall great waiter. We’ll be back.
-
Anthony was the absolute BEST! Busy night, but he was on top of it.
-
Food was good, ambiance was amazing. Service was slightly slow. All in all, a good experience. Definitely will return.
-
Anthony was awesome. Wish the rooftop was open throughout the week!
-
Anthony was great. The place looks fantastic and the food is delicious. Highly recommend!
