What diners say — our read

Diners who mention cleanliness here rate it low, yet the kitchen graded A. Reviews that raise tidiness average just 2.0 stars — this is where the complaints concentrate. After that, service appears most often — 38% of the corpus, averaging 1.9.

A third strand, how food arrives, appears in 33% of them at 1.6 stars. Of the 19 rated reviews, 1 sit at four stars or better and 14 at two or below. The single most common rating left here is 1 star (8 of 19).

The health record runs ahead of the reviews. The last DBPR inspection returned an A (92/100) with 2 intermediate and 2 basic violations. The visit behind that grade was January 13, 2026. Ranked against Volusia County, it is safer than 59% of the restaurants we score. For specifics, the last inspection cited dishwashing facilities and food-contact surfaces clean and sanitized.

Worth separating: the complaints above cluster on freshness and temperature, not on the kitchen, which inspected well. Full reviews follow below in the order they were left.

The rooms are extremely clean. The view is breathtaking!

-Water in the showers was luke warm and never got hot even after 20 minutes of running it on the hottest setting -View was partial ocean view and I paid for ocean view -Very hot in hallways and elevator -Bathroom door was very loud when sliding it to open and close it -Mini fridge didn't get cold -No patio chairs -Wifi was horrible and no cell service inside of room - Bath tub drain didn't work properly, bathtub would not hold the luke warm water -Shower head was old and had bad calcium build up -No usb chargers in room, I've stayed in cheaper hotels that at least had usb ports in lamps and wall outlets - Toilet would start running for no reason -Patio door was extremely hard to open and close -Horrible beds, I weigh 120lbs and I sunk down low in the bed -Room never cooled down, it was warm and muggy the entire time even at night -Ac made loud noises all night -Toilet was extremely hard to flush, the handle was hard to push down -Carpet felt moist when walking barefoot -When the guests in the rooms on both sides of us used the shower we could hear the loud noise it made in our room at 11pm at night

For Hyatt, this oceanfront property missed the mark totally on service and luxury standards. The staff provided no interaction with no greetings or good mornings. I even tried to talk to them and they seemed to be to busy to even say hello. The breakfast buffet was totally dirty and there was no plates, silverware or glasses for juice. Dining area was a wreck and tables were so dirty. I had to clean off (wipe it down) the table before we could eat. In the room, there was virtually no water pressure in the shower, and the AC didn't work well — the space always felt wet and clammy rather than properly cooled. The room stunk and felt dirty. This sure wasn't luxury and the price was high for not being luxury. We will not be returning to this location.

We've stayed at many Hyatt properties and this was by far the worst experience we've had. On arrival, we had nowhere to park since the parking lot was full. There was no one at the front desk so we ended up calling at midnight just to get assistance. We had to park across the street behind a gift shop. Once inside, the room's AC wasn't working properly in the middle of summer, which made for an uncomfortable stay. The AC vent was also being blocked by a giant lamp. The hallway had no AC either and a noticeable smell. Small things added up too: the in-room phone didn't work, the elevator was slow and inconvenient, and the shower pressure was uncomfortably intense. Breakfast was equally disappointing and did nothing to redeem the stay. The pool needed some trees or decorations to make it feel more cozy. At least the beds were comfortable and the view was great. The overall vibe was just off — it didn't feel like the Hyatt standard we're used to. We will not be returning to this property and hope management takes these issues seriously, because this location has a lot of catching up to do.

As a Hyatt Globalist, this oceanfront property misses the mark on service and luxury standards. Staff provided minimal interaction with no greetings or good mornings. The breakfast buffet was embarrassing and basic compared to higher-end Hyatts — limited options like scrambled eggs, sausage, breakfast potatoes, toast, yogurt, fruit, and granola. Dining area overlooks a parking lot leading to the beach, and sand tracks everywhere due to proximity. In the room, there was virtually no water pressure in the shower, and the AC didn't work well — the space always felt wet and clammy rather than properly cooled. Rooms and location suit a basic beach stay if you don't expect premium service or amenities. Fine for convenience, not luxury.

Me and my family have been staying at the hyatt for years and we're ecstatic to see there was one on daytona since we were going to spend one night there mid roadtrip but only left with disappointment. The breakfast had good food (first time seeing cinnamon rolls at a Hyatt), the room was decent and the view was awesome. However the room is very outdated and definitely needs a revamp. For starters we had 2 rooms and the AC didnt work in one so we had to get a different room. In our room the door would make this loud scratching noise, making us scared because we felt like it was about to break anytime we opened or closed it, along with that the door also didnt have a way of locking, it seems like there is supposed to be a handle there but there wasnt. We also went to get extra keys in the lobby and the front desk man had an attitude claiming we weren't in that room anymore because of the AC issue but we had to tell him we had 2 rooms and we wanted extra keys for the one that didnt move. Whilst also going out later, another man was waiting to check in and said he had been waiting almost half an hour to check in, we had a similar issue that it seems almost everytime we went for something, no one was at the front desk and we would have to wait for someone to show up. We love the hyatt and we're so disappointed with this hyatt. Hope they can renovate soon and keep up to par with the other hyatt's.

You have found paradise if you want to surround yourself with millennial parents and their screaming kids. As long as they’re happy, having fun in the sun, that’s all that matters. Other paying guests are in for a treat if they love excessive noise and relentless disruption.

Very disappointing experience at Hyatt Place Daytona Beach Oceanfront. Upon arrival, I was informed that the hotel was overbooked and had to wait nearly 4 hours in the lobby before receiving a room. Communication from staff was minimal throughout the process. What is even more frustrating is that the hotel later offered 30,000 World of Hyatt points as compensation and promised they would be issued within a few weeks. Nearly six months later, despite multiple follow-ups with both the hotel and Hyatt customer service, the points have still not been deposited. Mistakes can happen, but failing to honor a promised resolution for months is unacceptable. Unfortunately, this experience has significantly damaged my trust in both the property and Hyatt's customer service.

We arrived and there were tortilla chips in the ice bucket and poop in the toilet and dog pee on the floor. Obviously the room wasn’t cleaned properly if at all. We left and went to another hotel. It’s dog friendly which is good but I wouldn’t stay here. Everyone was nice though.

Great location, sub-par experience. Beds were comfortable but maintenance issues make it feel dirty. No hot water in the shower. Water was lukewarm at best. Breakfast was good...your average hotel breakfast. Just not what I expected from a Hyatt...more like super 8 level.

This oceanfront location has incredible views. Being able to just sit and watch the ocean is a favorite of mine. What this place has in views does not really make up for everything else. I will probably not ever stay here again. They do not air-condition the hallways so they are smelly and hot. The rugs in the hallways are threadbare and showing their age. There was mildew in the shower and there was no mat to keep the bathtub/shower combo from being slippery. There was no furniture on the porch. You could not sit on the porch. The breakfast was just a basic hotel breakfast. The pool was pretty but the pool furniture was pretty busted up. This location does not stand up to the Hyatt Place name.

This was easily the trashiest, most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed at - and it's supposed to be the Hyatt! Don't they pride themselves on quality? This place was dirty and grimy throughout the bathroom; brown nastiness on the rugs and on the lamp shades; mildew on the bathroom shower. We complained after arriving and they switched our room to a *moderately* better one and it was still the absolute most wretched thing I've ever stayed at. And I've done a lot of traveling as a professor. I was truly scared we might get bed bugs. We'd come back from the beach and the place would be 'picked up' but they didn't even change the linens or the bedding, it was the SAME stuff picked up off the floor and put right back onto the bed. The complementary food was served on RE-washed PLASTIC plates, which weren't even actually clean - ignoring the fact that the food was bad. There is a bar of snacks at the front desk... they ONLY have (and this isn't a joke or an exaggeration) red-hot firey chips or outdated cookies. lol And the staff weren't kind, to boot. Oh, and to top things off, the day we left, we went to put towels on the towel rack for the first time and it plopped right off the wall. We told the attendant, they said not to worry and this happens all the time... guess what they STILL charged us for, regardless, after the fact? Highly recommend you look elsewhere. Zero stars, 1,000x over.

Hotels halls were dirty. No chairs on balcony. No restaurant as advertised. Only good thing was the virw.

  • May 28, 2026

It felt like I was staying at an expensive Motel 6. The ceiling in the bathroom ( above the shower) was falling apart. The ceilings in the dining area of the lobby had brown spots. The elevators sound like they are going to fall apart when waiting for them, they also stop on whatever floor they want. The halls felt like the heat was turned on and the staff weren't very helpful after they finally registered what it was that you were saying.

the nastiest hyatt ever. breakfast served on one-time plastic plates, but was rewashed daily and reserved. bathroom were disgusting and covered in rust and oxidation. carpet ripped up in multiple places. hallways and elevators EXTREMELY HOT!!! do NOT waste your money here - really wish i could get my money back for this stay because $900 for a few nights in this? yeah disgusting

I booked this hotel 3 hours away from where I live. When I arrive at 10pm I’m told there’s no room for me because there’s no AC. I booked that room around 3:30pm. The guy said they have been working on the AC all day. Why have that room available if it’s not even in the right condition? Nobody contacted me through the hotel or Expedia about this cancellation. I am 5 months pregnant and now it’s 11pm on a holiday weekend and I’m trying to find a hotel to stay at that’s not fully booked or astronomically high in price. Now I have to pay double for a last minute hotel. Now fast forward I try to get a refund for a hotel I never stayed at and the hotel refused to pick up the phone after numerous attempts. So then I’m told through Expedia I won’t get a refund for my $200 stay instead I get $25? Since this hotel wouldn’t the phone I had to jump through more hoops to try to get a full refund for something that’s not even my fault.

This place is run down needs remodeling bad the elevators are hot the hall ways are hot no a/c circulating at all the breakfast is skimpy they have bed bugs very much over priced but it is in a convenient location this is the worse Hyatt I have ever seen the rooms smelled mildew this place is a no

  • May 25, 2026

It’s fine. The rooms are clean, nothing crazy. But the hallways are hotter than an oven and always smell like weed. The elevator is the slowest elevator I have ever used. The breakfast was fresh and tasty. The pool is clean, they have direct beach access. The lobby is swampy, and the front desk staff is meh. Not rude, but not super helpful. The parking is truly terrible. Not nearly enough spots for the amount of rooms they have. People park all over once spots fill up. Beach view from the beach view rooms is perfect. But the balconies don’t have any chairs. This feels more like a Super 8 than a Hyatt place.

Refrigerator broken, we bought snacks and had to get ice from the ice machine. Said it wound be replaced in the morning, didn’t happen. AC was not working, that wasn’t fixed either. Reported this to the front desk. It was just gross, the walls the carpet.,did not stay there another second. Front desk said sorry we don’t refund. I said idc just want to get out of this place. Hyatts use to be one of the best hotels. Not this one.

  • May 24, 2026

This place has a great location direct access to the beach, however this place is extremely outdated, the AC doesn't work in the rooms,we rented several rooms and noon of the rooms AC thermostats worked. The rates were good but the rooms were far from the quality that I've come to expect from a Hyatt Place Hotel. I'm a frequent traveler due to my profession, I grade this hyatt place a (3) out of 10 due to the state of the property. Hopefully management takes the time to get this property back up to standard's in which the customer's will have a different opinion of this property at some point, the parking situation is also horrible, the lobby area near the pool smells like urine, housekeeping is a after thought here, they're seems to be a shortage or just individuals that are just here to make a fast buck,😩😩

The smell in the room makes me can’t sleep!
