ANEJO COCINA MEXICANA
ANEJO COCINA MEXICANA is one of Central Florida's sharpest contradictions: 4.5 stars from 1,073 diners, and an F health grade from the state. People plainly love the food. The inspection report tells a rougher story.

Community Rating
Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
This is the pattern the site exists to surface: strong reviews, weak inspection. Reviewers who mention front-of-house rate this place 4.5 on average — it is working in the restaurant’s favour.
The split is 20 positive to 4 negative across 24 rated reviews. No one in this corpus comments on value for money at all. The single most common rating left here is 5 stars (18 of 24).
The inspection record is the harder read. DBPR graded this kitchen an F (57/100) on 2 high-priority, 4 intermediate, and 10 basic violations — a verdict the review average does not reflect. The visit behind that grade was April 27, 2026. Its inspection trajectory is upward over the records we hold. That puts it ahead of 3% of graded kitchens in Volusia County. For specifics, the last inspection cited food from approved source.
What to do with that is a judgement call — the reviews describe the experience, the grade describes the conditions behind it. The reviews themselves follow, unedited and newest first.

Food was excellent. Mervin was great.

Horrible food! Ordered a California Burrito with al pastor to go. Unfortunately I didn’t bother to look at the order until getting home. The burrito had 2 different color wraps which was the first giveaway something was up. It looked like sushi rice was used, no spanish rice, white boiled plain rice. I couldn’t find the guac that was supposed to be on it, nor could I find but two bites of some kind of meat. One of which was a huge chunk of gristle. And to top it off, a bunch of pieces of pineapple were in the burrito. Pineapple. In a burrito. And not a mentioned item as a listed ingredient. And not just a random piece that made its way in, spread all throughout. Safe to say the worst Mexican I’ve been to and unfortunately this place used to be good. Will not be returning

Such an amazing place! If you are in the mood for some awesome Mexican food you simply must give this establishment a try. I had chicken enchilada Verde while my husband tried the chimichanga with carnitas meat choice. Both were delivered in a picture perfect presentation plus the food came out in a timely manner. The service was exceptional. Our server, Evelyn, catered to our every need. We had a delightful meal in a beautiful environment to be sure. If you miss out on this local hidden jewel it will definitely be your loss!

The guacamole was the best I have had!! It was sooo fresh beyond words. I am really picky about guacamole because I make it really good, and this guacamole was better than any I have ever had!! Incredible. I love that you can add pineapple to the fajitas, they have a great selection and everything is clean and fresh. The Selena cocktail was absolutely amazing, I highly recommend this place!!

Went to Ñeo in Daytona and overall it was a nice experience .The restaurant itself is very pretty, clean, and has a beautiful view with plenty of parking, which I loved. The service was also very fast honestly, I was surprised at how quickly the food came out. Everyone was nice and attentive. The music inside was a little too loud for my personal taste, but I understand that’s part of the vibe since it’s more of a lively Latin/Mexican-style restaurant. My son ordered tacos and they were honestly some of the best tacos I’ve had in a long time absolutely delicious. I ordered a shrimp and rice dish and at first I didn’t really love it, but they kindly changed the rice for me and it definitely made the dish better. I’d probably rate my plate around a 5/10 overall, but the tacos were easily the highlight of the night. The michelada was really good, the coffee was good too. The only thing I personally didn’t enjoy was the sparkling water they served. Overall, it’s a cute spot with a nice atmosphere, great tacos, fast service, and a fun vibe .

Mother’s Day lunch was amazing with flavored margaritas. When seated our waiter immediately brought salsa and chips and we added cheese plus yummy roasted pork belly with a to-die-for mustard sauce. We ended our meal with regular margaritas and shared top notch enchiladas. Will definitely go again.

Service and food was great, highly recommended!!

Eric was a terrible server. I waited 9 minutes for a refill. My wife set her empty glass for a refill on table edge and it sat there for 13 minutes until our table was cleared. Our server walked by our table with the empty glass on the edge & proceeded to sit at a booth with other servers to talk for the remainder of our stay which was 15 minutes. When my wife returned from the bathroom is when he decided to get up & come to our table & ask if we needed anything else. I usually tip very well 25% when we go out to eat but needless to say during this visit he's lucky to have gotten any tip at all less than 10%.
