Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
The headline average flatters this listing; the recent half does not. How guests are treated tends to be raised approvingly here, averaging 4.6 stars.
Conspicuously absent: cleanliness, which no reviewer brings up. Of the 28 rated reviews, 24 sit at four stars or better and 4 at two or below. 5 stars is the modal score, given by 23 of the 28 reviewers who rated.
On the inspection side the picture is cleaner: DBPR graded this kitchen an A (96/100), with 1 intermediate and 1 basic violations. Whatever the reviews argue about, sanitation is not the weak point. That inspection was on June 10, 2026. The trend across inspections is improvement. On health score it sits safer than 73% of the Volusia County restaurants we grade. Among the items recorded were food & equipment thermometers provided and accurate and floors, walls, ceilings clean & maintained.

Amazing! The garlic knots were wonderful!!
-
Food had no spice. STAFF was insufficient. Worst meal I've had EVER in Daytona Beach. And relatively expensive for what you get.
-
Excellent authentic Italian food. They treat you like family as soon as you walk thru threw door. Everything we ordered was delicious. Skip the chain restaurants and head to Don Vitos!
-
Absolutely fantastic food! Super sweet and friendly service. Best Italian food
-
Food was delicious...every meal was enough for three people ..definitely looking forward to my leftovers. Our waitress was lovely, social and attentive..look forward to returning after our welcomed food coma
-
Great food!! Very New York Italian!! Pictures dont do it justice!!! Would recommend. Marinara is sooo good and cheesecake is homemade! Just the right amount of sweet!! It did take a bit because the owner was waiting on her own. Worth the wait!! Also, large portions we shared an app and 2 entrees for 3 people! Plenty of food!!

The service felt very warm and personal, and the chicken parm was phenomenal!

Cuisine quelconque. Au final énorme déception, à fuir!

What great place, 1st going. Old school Italian

Always good 👍 NOT A PIZZA PARLOR
-
The sauces were homemade and delicious. Quick service and friendly owner. Overall great family owned restaurant experience!
-
Wonderful little Family run restaurant. Owners are transplants from New York with a lifetime of Italian and pizza experience. Don't be in a hurry and enjoy chatting with the really busy and on top of things staff. Food was great with quality ingredients, great sauce and large portions. Loved it!
-
The nostalgic dinner my wife, daughter, and I had made me feel like I was back in Brooklyn, enjoying a home-cooked meal steeped in Italian family traditions. The garlic knots were out of this world, and my daughter absolutely loved the cheese pizza—it had an amazing crunch! It was probably the closest you can get to New York pizza, perfectly doughy and crispy. Thankfully, we visited on a quieter night, so we had the host all to ourselves. The veal parm and chicken franchise are must-tries for any family dinner in Daytona.

Very friendly and good portions
-
Best lasagna and garlic knots we have EVER had. Absolutely delicious!! Owner worked with us on time of pick up too!!
-
I've been here several times in the last but it's been awhile. The food was good, especially the garlic knots. The owners are a family from New Jersey and the mother is the server. Very fun lady, very chatty. While good, it wasn't as good as I recall. BTW .. it took 3 tries to find them open. Issues had come up that caused them to just close up day here and there.
-
First time here and we will be back! The pasta dishes were true Italian and wonderful!

Food is fantastic.

If you’re craving real Italian food, look no further than Don Vito’s in Daytona Beach! This is as authentic as it gets! Every dish is bursting with flavor and made with love. Barbara is absolutely amazing. So warm, attentive, and personable that you feel like part of the family the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is top-notch, and the food… wow. You owe it to yourself to experience Don Vito’s…you won’t regret it!
-
We had penne ala vodka and shrimp and crab ravioli. The food was amazing. Barbara was a hoot. We will definitely be back.
-
Walking in to the restaurant was a little strange. The floors are concrete and the walls are black. That being said, the food was incredible. Such rich taste, and authentic Italian. It's a must if you want Italian!!
-
This place is a gem! Went to dinner here on a weekday around 6:15. The owner was very friendly and attentive, while the food was delicious! The garlic knots were delicious! I got the veal marsala, and it was the best marsala (and veal) that I had ever had! Veal is from New York. Also, my pregnant wife loved the homemade Alfredo! I would recommend this place to anyone.

This is our 2nd visit to this amazing little hidden gem and we absolutely love it as much as the 1st time! Try the mozerella cheese sticks - they are so tasty! Hubby loved the spaghetti and meatballs. Try it - you will love it!
-
