Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
There is no middle ground in these 22 reviews. Reviewers who mention the staff rate this place 4.1 on average — it is working in the restaurant’s favour. After that, how long an order takes appears most often — 27% of the corpus, averaging 2.8.
Behind those, whether food comes out hot is raised in 18% of reviews (3.0 average). 15 of 22 rated reviews are four stars or higher; 4 are two or lower. More reviewers landed on 5 stars than any other score — 13 of 22.
Against that, the kitchen inspects well — an A (96/100), 4 basic violations at the most recent DBPR visit. That result dates from May 5, 2026. Its inspection trajectory is downward over the records we hold. That puts it ahead of 73% of graded kitchens in Volusia County. What the inspector actually wrote up: floors, walls, ceilings clean & maintained.
The honest summary is that the evidence is mixed on both sides. Full reviews follow below in the order they were left.

The food and staff were amazing. It was a little noisy for me personally but not horrible. I definitely reccomend the bacon wrapped shrimp!
-
Went for lunch with a group of friends. Got seated quickly, service ok. Really disappointed by the food though. The shrimp had no flavor neither did the Mahi.

Give Delaney a raise. Best recommendations. Super sweet. Super kind. Will def be back to Joes of Daytona

We went in today at 9:20pm. I guess they close at 10pm on Sunday. The hostess said there were no seats outside, but there were many. She was rude and ignorant. When walking out, the server Larry said he heard the hostess and had the outdoor area, and he gave us a seat immediately and treated us great. Big applause for their server Larry.... businesses need more people like Larry... not like the hostess. Thank you for a great night Larry! I am giving a 5 star review just because your server Larry came and saved the night.

Never come to this "restaurant". We were given a great table overlooking the beach; my fiancee and I couldn't wait to have dinner because of the weather/view. After 30 minutes of no one coming to our table and watching 5 waitresses argue with each other while looking over at us, it was clear that no one was ever coming. The place was nearly empty as well. I wish I could say something about the food but because of how BLATANT the rest of the staff was with purposefully not serving us (Despite seating us) likely it would be full of spit, hair, and may be rotten because this is not a "restaurant", it's a paid playground for their staff. The picture is of me after 30 minutes of no one coming to our table and getting ready to leave.

The rooftop bar was a great spot to wait for our table and ended up being one of the highlights of our visit. Unfortunately, dinner inside didn’t live up to expectations. The coconut shrimp didn’t taste like coconut at all and mostly tasted like overcooked breading, and the dipping sauce wasn’t good. The fried shrimp tasted like frozen, pre-made shrimp and lacked flavor. My husband ordered the $60 crab leg boil, and for the price, the portion size of the crab legs was disappointing. The one good thing was the peel-and-eat shrimp appetizer, which we did enjoy. Service was a little slow but not terrible. Overall, for the cost, the food wasn't worth it, and we definitely wouldn’t choose to dine here again.

It was very hot and humid when we visited Daytona so we came in here for a drink at the bar we've been to Joe's Crab Shacks before but it's been a while the bartenders were great I even got to keep a glass with one of their selections

Food is normal. Most of it taste like frozen good on England seafood plate with bacon shrimp. For 40.00 you would like it be be great. Kids enjoyed snow crab legs. Green beans werecwaaaaay over cooked and asparagus under cooked. Tine to find a new seafood place in Daytona. This place is officially OVERRATED for the prices.

Great food and service
-
Beautiful restaurant on pier, waterviews all around, reasonably priced meals and drinks considering, will likely be back. Also fireworks show was amazing, they did not cheap out
-
It’s 80degrees in there at 630. What are they thinking. I know it’s Florida but we went down the road and are now eating in a nice air conditioned restaurant
-

-
Waited over 45 minutes for food that wasn't even remotely warm, will not return

We’re out of towners. Infact, first time in Florida ever!! I’ve had Joe’s on the west coast numerous times and have always loved it and the atmosphere seems to be country wide which is incredible to experience. Ever disappointed by Joe’s. This visit was particularly special because of our waiter, Chris. My son took it upon himself to bear hug Chris , and completely caught him off guard. Chris accepted the hug and showered my baby boy with so much gratitude and love . Chris was exceptionally patient with my older family and my very young son. He was very attentive to us and made sure we got expect what we wanted . Chris made this experience my son hasn’t stopped talking about in a week. So I’m here, a week later (better late than never I guess) to thank Chris one more time for making our first day in Florida so awesome . A little mindless goes so far in life . I hope important people see this so give Chris his flowers . I went back a couple days later and sat at the bar solo and saw him again. Same energy with everyone he encountered . A couple other people working seemed to be discouraged by lack of help and possibly the over population because of the World Cup. Despite this Chris was still ear to ear smiling and making the best out of everyone’s interaction. Chris, I would want you to work for me and they’re lucky you work for them. You’re one in a million. May you flourish in life . God bless

This Joe's Crab Shack location has flunked out for our family. We tried to eat at this particular restaurant three times, and each time the food got worse and worse. The food? Terrible. The service? Nonexistent. The atmosphere? So loud that even when we shouted, we couldn't hear each other.

The food was good and our server, Steph, provided great service. Try the cheesy garlic bread.

The food was great and London, our server, was amazing! The people working at restaurants are the direct ambassadors for the business and London didn't disappoint. You will love the food, the atmosphere and the service!
-
Highly recommend! Fantastic location sitting on top of the ocean on the Pier. It felt like a surfing luncheon! We loved the atmosphere and positive vibe of the restaurant. A great Father's Day celebration with delicious seafood and drinks. Our server was Morgan and she was great! Thank you - we will be back!
-
I had the best experience!! Umbertto and William did an amazing job. We ate on the roof and the scenery was amazing ! It was my first time Coming and it won’t be my last

I went on June 20th with friends. My first waitress Bri came to my table and asked us what we want to drink and I told her that we are going to wait for another friend who was paying upstairs. (I just sat in there I didn't know what I want) she told me with a rude tone" oh so you are not going to order the beverages until they came down" and left. But her tone and her actitud was so rude. I guess she didn't like us because then Tia (new server) came and told us that they swapping sections and she will be taking care of us. She was super attentive, always with a smile and nice. I can understand that some people can be rude towards waitresses but this wasn't the case with Bri. The food was good. The manager was walking around the tables asking how was everything (which this is a nice thing) we told what happened and who grateful we were with Tia and her service.
