What diners say — our read

Diners are harder on this place than the health inspector was. When front-of-house comes up here it is usually a criticism, and the ratings attached average 2.7.

No one in this corpus comments on value for money at all. Of the 14 rated reviews, 7 sit at four stars or better and 6 at two or below. The single most common rating left here is 5 stars (6 of 14).

Against that, the kitchen inspects well — an A (90/100), 1 high-priority and 2 basic violations at the most recent DBPR visit. The visit behind that grade was June 12, 2026. The trend across inspections is improvement. That puts it ahead of 51% of graded kitchens in Volusia County. For specifics, the last inspection cited nonfood-contact surfaces clean and insects/rodents/pests.

Worth separating: the complaints above cluster on freshness and temperature, not on the kitchen, which inspected well. The underlying reviews are reproduced in full underneath.

I brought the steak bowl It only had three small scripts of steak. I called customer service. I thought I was calling the store directly. They transferred me over to the same number that I just called. Then once I got through then it going to tell me I have to download the app to become a member. It's just so much going on like money is hard to come by. You don't have no money to be wasting for you to be shorting me my food

Service was good.so was the food.

We went late at night when business was slow, but service was fast and friendly. Portions are large, like more than we can eat. The shredded pork and plantains are really good. The only thing I disliked, was that this is the first location we've been to, where we had to remove pieces of fat from the shredded meats, but it was our first time visiting this specific location, so not sure if that's the norm at this location, or maybe someone was just having an off day. We always choose Pollo Tropical when we don't feel like dining in somewhere for real food if there's one nearby.

I had the chicken quesadilla wrap combo it was very flavorful I was pleased with my choice. The young staff were eagerly working to get orders taken care of the restaurant was clean..

Meh. The chicken was dry. All these locations have gone down in quality. Will not be returning.

Good food , always a short line to wait for your food . It's a good thing 👍

The customer service in drive thru is horrible. Sometimes the food is good but other times it’s not.

  • May 31, 2026

Good customer service, but the white rice and black beans are horribly salty, almost inedible. Their chicken is good though. Do not waste your time and money getting their chicken soup. I purchased a bowl which was a container only half full. It consisted of only broth, a lone slither of yuca and 1 inch of a green plantain. Pathetic!

Asked for salt and water cup and a guy who was working said “he doesn’t have time for that” then walked to the back. Unprofessional.
