Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
The inspection record is the stronger half of this page. When how guests are treated comes up here it is usually a criticism, and the ratings attached average 2.0. After that, speed of service appears most often — 50% of the corpus, averaging 1.6.
1 star is the modal score, given by 11 of the 18 reviewers who rated. Conspicuously absent: portion size, which no reviewer brings up. The split is 6 positive to 12 negative across 18 rated reviews.
On the inspection side the picture is cleaner: DBPR graded this kitchen an A (98/100), with 2 basic violations. Whatever the reviews argue about, sanitation is not the weak point. That inspection was on June 11, 2026. The trend across inspections is improvement. Ranked against Volusia County, it is safer than 85% of the restaurants we score. Among the items recorded were food-contact surfaces clean and sanitized and plumbing installed & maintained.
If pacing is what you care about, the reviews are the better guide here; if it is the kitchen, the grade is. Read the originals below and judge the pattern yourself.

On June 29, 2026 I stopped at this location went into to dine, used the ladies room decided not to dine in because ROACHES was seen the restroom. I drove through the drive thru. I ordered then awaited to pay. I asked to speak to the Manager I was told that I had to pull out of the drive thru to speak to the Manager. I said I will wait the Manager finally came to the windows. Her attitude was not nice. I began to tell her what had happened. I said to her either hear what I have to say or a REVIEW would be given. Due to her ATTITUDE this is why the REVIEW is given. This location needs CLEANING from the outside to inside the restaurant. The drive thru pathway is full of POT HOLES! The ladies restroom needs a DEEP CLEANING! Extermination is OVER DUE!! This restaurant is FILTHY!!! This location needs the Board of Health to come thru and GRADE this location. It is HORRIBLE!!! MANAGER SHAMIKA is not FRONT END MATERIAL!!. Your attitude STINKS!!!!

Today I went in to Popeyes restaurant and I was in a line that took almost 40 minutes and the way this new manager speaks to people should be reported to headquarters cause she is very rude and my family and I will not even come back here and if anyone knows how to reach HR please let me know. Cause I have video of how people was being treated.

Damn absolutely disgrace for this Popeye 35 minutes in the drive-through going three cars in front of me. The worst experience I have ever been with a drive-through. I’m they’re slow there’s busy but there’s no excuse for this ultimate waiting time everybody talking and singing zero attention to the job just wanted one chicken sandwich that manager needs to be fired or not doing his or her job damn you Popeyes. This Popeyes is at the corner us one and international Speedway Boulevard in Daytona Beach

⭐☆☆☆☆ This was by far one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had at a Popeyes EVER. I came in during the lunch rush, and the restaurant was moving with absolutely no sense of urgency. To make matters worse, management decided this was the perfect time to update their POS system in the middle of one of the busiest parts of the day. That’s poor management. If you know lunch is your busiest time, system updates should be done before opening, after the rush, or during slower hours not while customers are standing around waiting. I guess the employees overheard me saying this to the other customers standing there and felt some type of way. It’s not her job to address me ESPECIALLY when she’s not a manger and especially when I didn’t address her in any shape form or fashion. On top of that, they were out of spicy chicken… during lunch. While I understand items sell out, not having one of your most popular menu items available in the middle of the day, combined with long wait times and employees with poor attitudes, creates a terrible customer experience. Manager Desiree took the order of the customer in front of me. When it was my turn, she walked away and started boxing orders without acknowledging me at all. No “I’ll be right with you,” no eye contact….nothing. I stood there for about 5–7 minutes before another manager came over and asked if I’d even been helped. When I said no, he told me he couldn’t help because it was “her register.” As someone who’s worked in…

This is quite possibly the absolute WORST fast food restaurant in Daytona Beach. You walk in and absolutely no one including the manager(s) even acknowledge you are there. When someone finally looks at you to take your order you are treated as a complete inconvenience in their day. You are truly lucky if half your order is in the bag and that is after you wait 20+ minutes for a sandwich. It is no surprise at all that Popeyes is closing many locations in Florida. If this is what the company offers I can very easily take my business to a place that will at least acknowledge I'm a person entering their establishment to spend my money and show a wee bit of simple respect and consideration. This location needs complete overhaul with their entire staff!

Every time I go there, it's a 30 minute Wait. you have not fixed the problem.
-
I could not believe it when I walked in to have lunch in a cool space only to take my food to go because it was out in the lobby not to mention the poor girl at the register pouring sweat trying to take my order if I was her I would of walked out there are right to working like that and as business owners and so called bosses that are suppose to look for their employees this is the saddest excuses of employees care I’ve ever seen
-
The store is so hot the employees literally look like they are about to fall out something needs to be done I will be contacting better business and so one
-
They are busy but they take care of their customers.
-
The service here is so terrible that when I DoorDash, I passed up a $17 order, that was only going 4.5 miles
-
Great deals online and pretty fast service for how busy it was!
-
The chicken AND sides were super fresh people were helpful and friendly!!! The canuspare folk outside and the potholes are the only bad!! I only could dodge one not the other 😬🤬
-
I went there and still had 13 minutes before try close and the lobby and the drive thru was closed. With that much time I should still be able to come in or go through the drive and order my food. Very disappointed.

Popeyes has chicken figured out
-
Ordered chicken wings
-
this place is absolutely ridiculous. It’s the slowest place I’ve ever seen.
-
Drive through was a bit backed up, but the staff was courteous and professional. Service was ultimately great and the food - as always - was superb!
