The headline average flatters this listing; the recent half does not. Reviews that raise service average just 1.6 stars — this is where the complaints concentrate. Pacing follows at 45% of reviews, where ratings average 1.9.
The split is 5 positive to 15 negative across 20 rated reviews. If you had to pick one number to represent this corpus it would be 1, the most frequently given rating (12 reviews).
On the health side, the most recent DBPR inspection returned a B (88/100) with 2 intermediate and 6 basic violations — middling, much like the reviews. DBPR last walked in on April 22, 2026. The trend across inspections is decline. On health score it sits safer than 45% of the Volusia County restaurants we grade. The citations behind that grade include employee health knowledge and nonfood-contact surfaces clean.
The weak part of this listing is the experience, not the sanitation — those are different failures. Read the originals below and judge the pattern yourself.

For $8 this thing better give me head or put my kids through college or both

How is this location going to charge $2.99 for a cheesy bean and rice when other locations charge $1.00, others are $1.19 to $1.59? Its not like they are special at this location. Plus you wait 15-20 minutes just for 1.

Got hungry on the road so we stopped for some tacos. Emilia was our cashier. She was so nice and very polite. She even complimented my necklace (11:24) which made my day! Our tacos came out with the perfect mount of toppings and looked like they took pride in making our food. The dinning area was being maintained by a gentleman, I wish I knew his name to shine light on. He made sure it was spotless. For this reason, this location is one of my favorite by far! All the staff working this day were great (6/18/2026 2:30 pm) they all deserve to be seen. 🥰

Lady taking order was rude, made me feel like I was doing something wrong. Would have spent more but lady wouldn’t let me finish. If you don’t want to work. Stay home !! Tired of lazy people.

This place needs a new manager and new preppers.....my hard shell taco was soggy and broken into pieces. The whole place needs a serious cleaning....gravel is all over the drive through, plants are all dead etc....get a manager that cares about how their store looks and get employees who serve food the way it should be.

Just went today June 1st. Got food poisoning. Was the only thing I ate today. Couple hours later. Had to leave work early because of the situation. Bathroom, stomach aches. Also never was acknowledged when I came in. I was the only person in lobby And waited 20 minutes for 2 things. Staff seems to hate working at Taco Bell. They just keep complaining. I say thank you even I leave and no you’re welcome or have a good day. Avoid this location at all costs.

Staff was rude was they finally did acknowledge me. The store was very slow, not busy at all. Still the employees were moving slowing and carelessly as they treated all the customers with the same service as myself this day. Neglectful, lack of regard or respect. Quality customer service seems to be truly a thing of the past these days. Especially in fast food restaurants. Really wish we’d start requiring more from our employees. As a team on the floor and towards their customers. f

Worst Taco Bell in the county. Been waiting in this drive thru for 30 minutes because the workers are too busy fighting and doing lord knows what else. Definitely not making food I can tell ya that. Never coming back

The worst set of staff on a shift. I ordered the Zab's Chicken Ranch Nacho fries which ive ordered multiple times. And I found some red meat (i do not eat red meat because of religious reasons) in it which I took back. Three different staff members told me thats how chicken looks (without even looking at it), raised their voice (rude and arrogant) and told me they were making me another one after arguing about it like they were doing me a favor. They did that after like 5 people argued with me. The absolute worst set of staff on a shift. Would give it a negative rating if I could. This is about 5 mins back so taco bell if you're seeing this.

Slowest drive thru in town

Food was yummy, but they really need to be a little better about customer service. Just common courtesy I guess. And holy cow it's gotten expensive!

This Taco Bell is a disaster wrapped in a tortilla. The night staff operates like they collectively gave up before they were even hired. Every late‑night visit is the same slow‑motion chaos: the pace is painfully sluggish, the uniforms look like they were grabbed off the floor on the way out the door, and the whole vibe screams “no one here actually wants to be here.” The disorganization would almost be impressive if it weren’t so maddening. Orders come out wrong with shocking consistency, like accuracy is optional after dark. And honestly, everyone can’t be as great as Taco Bell Joe …..but they could at least TRY. Most nights I end up driving to the South Daytona location instead, because that store actually has it together and Joe is such a Joy.
