Community Rating
Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
An average alone would undersell where this place is now. Where the staff comes up, the rating that follows averages 4.0, so it reads as a strength. How long an order takes follows at 33% of reviews, where ratings average 3.0.
More reviewers landed on 5 stars than any other score — 13 of 24. Serving size shows up in 25% of reviews as well, averaging 3.3. Of the 24 rated reviews, 14 sit at four stars or better and 8 at two or below.
Against that, the kitchen inspects well — an A (97/100), 1 intermediate violations at the most recent DBPR visit. That result dates from April 22, 2026. Across its inspection history the kitchen is improving, which argues for giving it the benefit of the doubt. That puts it ahead of 79% of graded kitchens in Volusia County. What the inspector actually wrote up: food manager certification.
This is a listing where the two measures each tell half the story. The reviews themselves follow, unedited and newest first.

Pizza wasn't that good and when I said something wasn't right they said it was my probably my taste buds. No it was their rotten cheese pizza.

I placed an online order on 6/4/2026 and never received my pizza. After waiting over an hour, I called and was told the driver had left 10 minutes earlier. After another hour, and still no pizza, I called again and was informed there was a system glitch and my order had not printed, but that the pizza was in the oven and would arrive within 25–30 minutes. Nearly an hour later, the pizza still had not arrived, and when I called back, the restaurant was closed. I requested a refund, and after a week of waiting, I never received a refund and had to dispute this transaction with my bank. This was especially disappointing because we have ordered from here several times before. Mistakes happen, but failing to deliver the order and not issuing the promised refund is unacceptable.

Here’s a polished version of your review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was my first time eating in DeBary. My dad recently moved to the area, so we decided to stop by for lunch today. We absolutely loved this place! The atmosphere is welcoming, the food was delicious, and the owner is a true gentleman. He spent over 20 minutes talking with us, sharing recommendations on the best places to visit around town and making us feel right at home. After we ordered, my son mentioned that he wanted dessert, and to our surprise, the owner kindly gave it to him at no extra charge. That simple gesture meant a lot to us. As Argentinians, we love supporting family-owned businesses and people who genuinely care about their customers. Experiences like this are exactly why we enjoy discovering local restaurants. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Nonna Maria’s to anyone looking for great food, a warm atmosphere, and exceptional hospitality! Thank you, Nonna Maria’s! ❤️

Veal marsala was not reduced enough, cannoli was not filled, kitchen staff all sitting in dining room just taking up space. Waiter was great, food was tasty. No drinking water available. Only tap nasty flavor.

Great food and service today!
-
The food is really good and I have ordered takeout from here many times. However, I just received my order of calamari and they only gave me a half portion but charged $19. That is unacceptable to pay that much and receive as little food as I did.

The food was absolutely fantastic, and Kayy was an amazing server! She was so on top of everything, super friendly, and really added to the whole dining experience. Highly recommend!

A huge thank you to Nonna Marie’s! 🍕✨ We wanted to give a massive shout-out to Nonna Marie’s for their incredibly generous pizza donation for the DeBary Elementary 5th Grade Celebration! It’s one thing to have great food, but it’s another to have a business that truly cares about our kids and our town. Nonna Marie’s consistently shows up for DeBary, proving time and again that they are more than just a restaurant—they are a pillar of this community. Thank you for helping us make these memories extra special for our graduates!

Nonna Maria’s in DeBary, FL has authentic Italian! Visited there again today after not being there for awhile. Again the freshly made ingredients and taste of our meals was superb! Why haven’t we been back? Prices are average and worth the portions! I suggest their soup of the day!!!

It’s a fantastic place to try home made Italian-vibe pizza. Our family’s top one pizza place in Volusia.
-
The decor is warm and inviting. Our server was friendly and attentive. We had cheese pizza, stromboli and antipasta salad. The serving size was more than enough. This is the best pizza and stromboli I've ever had and that is coming from a New Yorker!

Stopped in for the 1st time, 4/18/26. Got the 2 slice lunch special. I travel for work and try Pizza all over Florida. I cannot wait to go back to Nonna's. Excellent Sauce, Cheese and Crunchy Crust! Mary is super sweet and very helpful!

Just avoid this place at all costs. Used to be my favorite place would take my daughters every week. Now, service it terrible, wait time on food is crazy and they’re not even busy. Worst part is they don’t seem to even care. find somewhere else to go that actually wants your business
-
I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. It tasted like an ash tray. Im not exaggerating. I tried eating at Nonnas pizza twice. The 1st time was ehh. The 2nd time was disgusting. The pizza is ok but the rest is terrible. And the charge more than Olive garden. Never again will I spend my money there.

My wife and I have been coming here for probably ten years now but after tonight will never be back. We sat down and waited a long time before we even saw a server. Eventually, a thin brunette came over to the table, plopped down two menus, without even introducing herself and asked what we were drinking. We were a little bit taken aback by the greeting, but when my wife asked what their specials were, she said (with a lot of attitude) “they’re on the menu”. I’ve never received such rude service from any restaurant, let alone this place. is a far cry from what it used to be. I had heard that they were under new ownership, but as a local, this is a place I would avoid.

Called to place an order and was on hold for 12 minutes. RIDICULOUS

I happened to be in the area and found this spot after a quick search for pizza. It’s tucked away in a shopping plaza, but don’t let the exterior fool you—once you step inside, it’s incredibly cozy and welcoming. We stopped by between lunch and dinner, and the service was fantastic. We ordered a family pizza to go, but couldn't resist eating a few slices while we waited. The pizza is the real star here: it has that perfect crispiness with just the right balance of sauce and cheese. All done in a brick oven, say no more. It honestly tastes like something Nonna would make.

Nona’s Pizza had small slices, and the texture wasn’t great the crust wasn’t chewy the way good pizza usually is. The sauce also had an unpleasant taste that didn’t complement the pizza well. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
-
