Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
People either love this place or they do not, and the ratings show it. Opinion on how guests are treated is split — those reviews land at 3.5 on average.
5 stars is the modal score, given by 12 of the 22 reviewers who rated. 14 of 22 rated reviews are four stars or higher; 7 are two or lower.
The inspection lands in between as well: DBPR graded this kitchen a C (75/100). That inspection was on May 28, 2026. Across its inspection history the kitchen is improving, which argues for giving it the benefit of the doubt. On health score it sits safer than 20% of the Volusia County restaurants we grade. The inspector left without citing anything — worth noting, since most visits find something.
The honest summary is that the evidence is mixed on both sides. The individual reviews are below, newest first, if you want the raw material.

Eat lots of new places. We are southern. This was not good Southern Food. This is not Southern food. But biggest thing. They have all sorts of hidden fees and up charges. Including cheesecake costing $1 more. They are going into the ground.

Excellent food and service.

EDIT: Just want to add, I've been eating here for many many years, and before that I used to eat at Holiday House as a kid (same family), never had a bad meal. I almost always get turkey and dressing and it's always amazing, but sometimes I will get rare roast beef if they have it, always delicious. Desserts are amazing. It's not a huge buffet like Golden Corral or something like that but what is there is much better quality. Some people like a different type of buffet and that's fine, but for my family this one is perfect. Love this restaurant, always good food and nice people working there.

It is difficult to have to write a review like this about what has been for many, many years my favorite country food restaurant. There have been a lot of changes that make it a never again for me. The management and employees genuinely treat customers like they are doing their paying customers a favor by allowing them to eat there. They are always very busy, busier than ever, but they will never get another dime from my family. They do not deserve the business they get. As for the food, it is decent but not consistent on quality. My little review and opinion means nothing but I will never again recommend this restaurant to any of family, friends or customers. I have sent hundreds of my short term vacationers there and I will never make that mistake again.

Awesome beautiful place. Great food. Make sure to check out the flowers outside.

The food was delicious and the service was just as great. We highly recommend. 😊

My family loves the food here iand says it's second to none for homestyle food, made from scratch by talented chefs. They bring a complementary birthday cake to the table if it's your birthday, and it's wonderful! They are known for their desserts. The buffet is wonderful and they even serve a whole turkey as one of the meat choices if you go at dinner time. They have the place professionally decorated inside with trees and lights decorated by theme. You may see a birthday tree decorated with packages, or a white tree beautifully decorated for Mither's Day. This place is over an hour drive one way for us, but it's worth the drive. Check it out!

20 roaches found in last health department inspection. Eat at your own risk.

It's the only buffet I'll eat at! They keep it very clean, food is fresh and made from scratch.
-
Not a buffet, if you can't go up again.
-
I love this place. Most everything is homeade from scratch so the quality of the food here puts any other buffet food quality to shame! It feels so satisfying to leave with a full belly without the discomfort because it was a healthy home cooked meal that really hits the spot! We drive from out of town just to come here.

Food was great except for crab bisque. Had no crab chunks in it and tasted like water down tomato soup. But the buffet and dessert awesome.
-
Food is ok, service isn't great, but worth checking out. Desert is worth adding on, not sure about the soup. They didn't give us much info on the soup, so we didn't bother. Mashed potatoes and gravy were the star for me. Didn't need the second meat portion, was plenty of food for us off a single portion. Price is good for what you get. Saturday Mamorial weekend, wasn't too bad of a wait.

Everything had ham in it vegetable wise. Not a big choice of food.
-
Tasteless, this is not real southern food. This is food that non southern people think is southern. Do not do it if you are looking for southern, good for your soul food. The only sides were brussel sprouts, green beans, spiced apples, fried cucumbers (not tomatoes) and mashed potatoes and gravy. The protien/meat is 1 serving only but you will not want anymore, we did not finish the 1st. Service was sub par, they were not busy on a Sat afternoon, that should have been the 1st sign it was no good. They are running more of a cafeteria than a buffet . Dont waster your time!

This was my first time visiting, and I wasn’t familiar with how the restaurant worked. Our server kept asking what we wanted to drink, so I ordered water, but after bringing it she quickly walked away before explaining the process or asking if we had any questions. I wasn’t sure if we needed to order from the menu first or go directly to the buffet, and another customer eventually explained that we could just head to the buffet. We also had to ask multiple servers for silverware because our table didn’t have enough set out. That said, the food tasted very good, and the value for the price was excellent. I’m hopeful that if I visit again, the service experience and staff attitude will be more welcoming and attentive.
