Community Rating
Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
The recurring subject in this corpus is front-of-house, not the food in general. Reviewers who mention the staff rate this place 4.3 on average — it is working in the restaurant’s favour. After that, how long an order takes appears most often — 33% of the corpus, averaging 3.1.
The split is 14 positive to 4 negative across 21 rated reviews, with 3 in the middle. Behind those, serving size is raised in 19% of reviews (3.8 average). More reviewers landed on 5 stars than any other score — 10 of 21.
On the inspection side the picture is cleaner: DBPR graded this kitchen an A (91/100), with 1 intermediate and 6 basic violations. Whatever the reviews argue about, sanitation is not the weak point. That result dates from March 26, 2026. Ranked against Volusia County, it is safer than 55% of the restaurants we score. What the inspector actually wrote up: in-use food dispensing utensils properly stored and clean clothes.
Neither signal is decisive on its own here, which is why both are shown. The underlying reviews are reproduced in full underneath.

My daughter and I love coming here. It's our favorite place to come and have an amazing breakfast. Annette was so kind and attentive. Definitely recommend to our family and friends who are in town. We'll definitely be back!

Had breakfast there this morning and when I walked in, the hostess sat me and I told her 3 people, my son was on his way. Then some woman came over, I think her name was Lorraine, asked me if the rest of my party was coming, I said yes, she said I had 5 minutes or I would have to get up from the table because another party just came in. She was rude and loud. Other tables were looking at me like I did something wrong. I explained that no one asked if we were all here. When I was sat there was No one else waiting. There were other tables available. I won't go back. She was yelling at waitresses did not have a great attitude

Ordered my food paid and waited for 20 minutes then I was told they forgot they ran out of wings YESTERDAY! 😡

The service was great. The food however whas the spotlight. Now I know its supposed to be about the food. We'll yea. But not all places focus on the food more than anything else. So outstanding food. I had breakfast the chicken and the egg. Clean place. Just a tad small for such great food.

I ordered the Cuban sandwich. First time here. The meat in the sandwich was very rough and hard to chew. Sandwich not was not tasty at all!
-
Ordered the eggs Benedict and the eggs were fried instead of poached.. There is a reason why they call it eggs benedict. The eggs were not poached in any way shape or form. Anybody can fry eggs and put them on top of an English muffin. Extremely disappointed, and the hashbrowns that came with it were literally 4 fork fulls and then gone. Proportion size of the hashbrowns kinda sealed the deal on the meal.

Food was good, but not something I would drive across town for. Typical dinner.

Delicious Benedicts!

Whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner this place is awesome. Great people and food.

Place was pretty crowded, and makes sense because it was good. Quick service, reasonable prices, tasty food, friendly service.
-
Some times the follow up after the plate has been served is the most important part of serving others. This practice often takes a few minutes and can prevent unnecessary delay to the hungry customers experience overall.

Bethany took amazing care of my kids and I. The food was delicious, warm & it’s clear a lot of love is poured into the menu, staff and atmosphere. My kids NEVER finish their food, no matter where we go but we are 3 for 3! The portions were perfect and the kids loved it. We will definitely be making our way to this side of town for this awesome experience more often.

Stopped in on 5/9, to get a quick bite to go had to look up online for the menu of which has no price listed for the food, I walked in there was no welcome just a young man that looked at me and said nothing which I had to ask were to go to place an order. Well after standing by the front counter and multiple employees seeing that I was standing there not a hello or will be with you shortly nothing strips there for about 5 minutes and I was getting ready to leave that’s when I’m asked if I’m being helped, said no I placed my order the empanada basket. I came home anxious to eat my food and WOW what a disappointment the empanada were not so good nor were they fresh the meat was blend and wound up paying over $12.00 dollar’s for not so good empanada.

This cafe was nice, the staff were friendly and fast. We've been looking to stop and have a meal here for years. The cafe has rooster decor everywhere which was really cool. The food wasn't consistent, we had a veggie omelet which was good, but we also ordered the Spanish steak and onions which left much to be desired. The rice was clearly reheated which would've been fine had it actually been warm. The steak was so small and the black beans were bad. We love local cafes, diners and restaurants, so we were a bit disappointed when this cafe delivered one good meal and one really bad one. Hopefully others don't have the same mediocre experience we did.
