Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
People either love this place or they do not, and the ratings show it. How guests are treated cuts both ways here, averaging 3.7 among the reviews that raise it. How food arrives is the next most common subject, in 28% of reviews (averaging 2.6).
5 stars is the modal score, given by 12 of the 18 reviewers who rated. 13 of 18 rated reviews are four stars or higher; 4 are two or lower. Behind those, wait times is raised in 28% of reviews (3.4 average).
On the health side, the most recent DBPR inspection returned a B (86/100) with 1 high-priority, 1 intermediate, and 3 basic violations — middling, much like the reviews. That inspection was on February 2, 2026. Its inspection trajectory is upward over the records we hold. That puts it ahead of 25% of graded kitchens in St. Lucie County. Among the items recorded were potentially hazardous foods properly thawed and cross-contamination.
The honest summary is that the evidence is mixed on both sides. Read the originals below and judge the pattern yourself.

Never was out waitstaff and she was great. Pleasant personality and KEPT our drinks full. Food was good as usual

Tried Moonswiners for the first time last week and ended up back there four times the following week. I was busy launching a new Airbnb and making nonstop Walmart and Home Depot runs, and this place became my convenient lunch stop. The pork sandwich combo and beef sandwich combo are both fantastic and an incredible value. Even my 3-year-old approves of the mac and cheese, which may be the toughest review to earn. It was so good that Moonswiners officially bumped Big Worm’s BBQ from my Airbnb welcome sheet and guest guidebook recommendations.

I have been coming to this location for more than 20 years. The food has always been consistently good, great, quick service, and always reasonably priced. I now live in Palm City and my daughter and I still drive here a couple of times a month. This is always the number one BBQ place I recommend. When I go visit my family in TN, I always take coleslaw for holidays.

I used to enjoy the food. Today it went down hill. Ordered to go. Had the Beef combo Sandwich. Sat in line 2o minutes at drive thru. I get my food go home and open bags. Went to unwrapped sandwich and it was wrapped so tight it took the bread crust off and could not use it. The meat was ice cold. I get to go all the time and food was always still hot when I got home. I always recommended this place but after today that referral is done. I read the reviews and they are getting worse. That is not a good sign. It was fun while it lasted

Great service, even though it was a full house. Attentive, friendly staff and the sliced pork sandwich with cole slaw and steak fries was fresh and delicious. We had a great time.

Best BBQ in the area a must try

Went in for lunch and was asked for my drink order before I even had a chance to look at the menu, so I just asked for a water. When I ordered my food, I went with a combo—which explicitly includes a soda or tea in the price. When I asked for the tea that I literally just paid for as part of the combo, I was told it would be an extra charge just because I started with a water cup. They wouldn't just swap the cups or adjust the order without trying to nickel-and-dimed me for a drink that was already included in the meal price. Completely rigid service and nonsense logic. If your inventory system or cup sizes are that complicated, don't rush customers for a drink order the second they walk up. Won't be back.

Today I tried a new place. I order a chicken sandwich combo side of Mac n cheese, potatoes salad and baked beans. Wish I wasn’t so disappointed the chicken sandwich was horrible chicken looked old not fresh at all the bun was cartoonish looked like a hamburger bun from Walmart.the fry’s that came with the combo felt old. And cooked in old oil I expected better food quality since I had to wait for my online order. The Mac n cheese 🧀 was just plan with no flavor or love in it. I gave up and never ate the other sides or finish the sandwich threw it in the trash were I feel where they got it from.. I don’t wanna sound harsh I just expected more than what I got idk 🤷🏾 maybe today was a bad day but I won’t be visiting again no time soon. Hope the next customer experience better than what I had.

We grew up on this BBQ, it's a staple

The ribs were flavorless. I like ribs without sauce on them. No flavor

Great place for BBQ! Brittney took care of us and was outstanding. Very friendly and welcoming. Food came out nice and hot. Very relaxed atmosphere. Has a convenient drive thru window. One small request of grilling the corn cob as an option.

Good fast service and great food.

Wow. Not what they are advertising . They do not make everything. Chicken tenders are frozen. No lime for my wife's corona. Seems like I'm at Arby's from the round eye beef they serve. It was cold so i sent it back .... they put it in the microwave to warm it up. Service was phenomenal. If you're coming here expecting brisket, they don't have it. It's called round eye.
