What diners say — our read

One subject runs through these 17 reviews more than any other: front-of-house. Reviewers who mention the staff rate this place 4.4 on average — it is working in the restaurant’s favour.

The split is 15 positive to 1 negative across 17 rated reviews, with 1 in the middle. More reviewers landed on 5 stars than any other score — 11 of 17.

Against that, the kitchen inspects well — an A (91/100), 9 basic violations at the most recent DBPR visit. That result dates from February 18, 2026. Its inspection trajectory is downward over the records we hold. Ranked against Seminole County, it is safer than 50% of the restaurants we score. What the inspector actually wrote up: in-use food dispensing utensils properly stored and food-contact surfaces clean and sanitized.

With both signals pointing the same way, there is little to argue about on this listing. Full reviews follow below in the order they were left.

This place is pretty cool. Get the family out on the water for an airboat adventure like non other. Then grab some lunch from the real Florida Swamp Cafe! Check out the tower and view live gators in the natural environment, make sure you grab a cold beverage from the gazebo bar. Finish the day off with a souvenir from the gift shop and for the finale, snag your photo op on the giant sizes Adirondack chair.

Everything was pretty good. The swamp cabbage was good. The fried clams were good. Our server was nice and friendly, but it took your forever to come around. I had to walk up to the bar to pay my tab. Other than that, it was nice loud air, boats gators, and good food.

Wonderful food and service in a nice country atmosphere.

The staff were friendly, and the live guitar player was very talented. However, the enclosed patio area was noticeably dirty, look up at the ceiling and you'll see thick dust buildup that really takes away from the dining experience. The food was also disappointing. The mahi-mahi appetizer was extremely small for the price, just a few tiny bites. Overall, the portions didn't match the cost, and the food quality wasn't what I expected. Nice people, but the cleanliness and value for money need improvement.

If you like southern food and the real florida, this is your place. Swamp cabbage was excellent, great flavor Fish tacos were awesome Friday pickles were lightly battered as was the onion rings and okra. Air boats galore made it fun for our friends from up north.

Sat waiting for an hour and a half just to be told they were out of gator long after they took our order. We overhead them tell someone else they were out, again after we ordered ours previously, but they still waited over an hour to tell us and still hadn’t brought out any food. Sodas came out flat and nasty. Was a bummer experience.

Catfish and shrimp dinner is awesome. Gotta have the swamp cabbage soup.

A bunch of us showed up for lunch. Service and food were great with no mixups. Update: A recent visit with 8 friends was great. I hade the cod basket with onion rings and a couple hush puppies. Great lunch.

Food was absolutely phenomenal! Had the Cajun Gator Bites, Blackened Mahi Mahi and a Carmel Apple Bundt Cake. Hands down some of the best fish I’ve had in a long time. Cannot recommend this place enough. And bug shout out to my server Chelsea!
