Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
These 23 reviews are more disappointed than angry. Where the staff comes up, the rating that follows averages 4.2, so it reads as a strength. What it costs follows at 22% of reviews, where ratings average 3.4.
13 of 23 rated reviews are four stars or higher; 9 are two or lower. Whether food comes out hot shows up in 17% of reviews as well, averaging 1.0. More reviewers landed on 5 stars than any other score — 8 of 23.
On the health side, the most recent DBPR inspection returned a B (81/100) with 1 high-priority, 2 intermediate, and 5 basic violations — middling, much like the reviews. That result dates from March 19, 2026. Across its inspection history the kitchen is declining, which argues for reading the older reviews with caution. That puts it ahead of 18% of graded kitchens in Brevard County. What the inspector actually wrote up: food-contact surfaces clean and sanitized and plumbing installed & maintained.
If freshness is what you care about, the reviews are the better guide here; if it is the kitchen, the grade is. Full reviews follow below in the order they were left.

Great Mexican food 🥑. Great service. Fast and attentive
-
Very good, even if fairly typical, Mexican menu, but FREE CHURROS WITH EACH MEAL. Decent Taco Tuesday deals, but nothing to write home about. Very good post-beach or pre-nightout spot right on A1A. And did I mention FREE CHURROS?!?!

Cantina’s food used to be really good, so this was honestly shocking. I ordered the spinach enchiladas to-go tonight for my birthday, and everything was ice cold. Not just “cooled off,” but cold enough that there’s no way it had just been made. Even setting that aside, the food itself was awful. The rice was completely overcooked, just mush. The beans were watery. The enchiladas had no white sauce at all, just spinach and some cauliflower inside what tasted like a raw flour tortilla, with a thick layer of cheese dumped on top. Because it was so cold, I had to microwave it all, and not for just 30 seconds either, but for over 2 minutes to get it to an acceptable temperature. By this time, the cheese on top was a hard, rubbery layer, and there was way too much of it, almost like it was trying to cover up how bad everything underneath was. I also ordered queso, and it was so cold it had hardened into a strange, Play-Doh-like texture. I’m really bummed. I actually sat here trying to eat it, thinking, how can it possibly be this bad? I couldn’t even finish it. It’s not possible, which tells me it’s not just a bad cook but the ingredients too. I rarely leave reviews, but this was that bad… I had to say something. It’s honestly sad, because if the food is consistently like this, there’s no way this place can stay open. Looks like I’ll be eating yogurt from my fridge for my birthday instead.

The menu changed and it's nothing but an oversized taco stand. only a handful of real dinners on the menu.

Food on the floor and nobody did not clean it up

Local Restaurant Nothing to Fancy Food ok... Prices are reasonable...
-
I hate to say this but buyer beware. The menu claimed the sandwich was made of “thick cut brisket” - very thin shaved, overcooked, and tough. Not good at all. I should have known to pay attention to the price rather than the menu’s claim. Read all the reviews - I should have. The fries were good.

Great food. Very reasonable price. I highly recommend.

We have tried a lot of Mexican restaurants since moving here and this has been hands down the best experience.
-
Food was really good. Service was prompt and welcoming Will definitely make this restaurant one of our regular stops on our trips to the area Highly recommend

Food was great. Like the building. Waitress is ok but very slow to come back. Still good overall experience on the Melbourne beach

We haven't been here in a long time. I was pleasantly surprised. My FIL got the cheeseburger and couldn't even eat it all. The fajitas were awesome and I got the chicken flautas with were amazing. Great experience 👍

My partner went there for dinner with friends while i stayed home and wanted the dos tacos to go. Apparently they are out of to go boxes, its very apparent that there is poor management to not preorder to go boxes in shipments and or have extra stashes in dry storage areas, especially since they do online orders. I tried to call the place to confirm they have no to go boxes because I find it unlikely and ridiculous that they don’t, but the phone was not answered once. Even after calling multiple times. My partner said that his mahi was extremely undercooked and that it was just an awful experience with awful food.

On the road between Miami and Daytona Beach via the A1A, we stopped for lunch at Cantina Dos Amigos! If you pass by, stop there too. Friendly tip ;-)

Owners recently changed. Menu changed. Staff changed. Some dishes look the same. But ingredients have changed. Not the quality of ingredients like previous owners.
-
Terrible. I havent had a meal this bad in years. Do not go here. Steak was like rubber, rice was dry, and i had to race home before I made it my pants. My friend ordered the "keto tacos" and what came out was raw cauliflower in a stale tortilla. I should have known to go elsewhere when we arrived during peak dining hours to an empty restaurant. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Good, homemade Mexican food for reasonable prices, lunch specials available for $8.94!!
-
Typical Mexican food and decor.
-
Not like it used to be. Glad its still open. changed menu less food. Higher prices for what you get.
-
Sadly this place isn’t what it used to be. They changed the menu with limited sections. And the quality has taken a deep dive.
