Community Rating
Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
Something changed. Recent visits score noticeably higher than earlier ones. Where front-of-house comes up, the rating that follows averages 4.2, so it reads as a strength.
The single most common rating left here is 5 stars (17 of 24). No one in this corpus comments on how food arrives at all. Of the 24 rated reviews, 21 sit at four stars or better and 3 at two or below.
On the inspection side the picture is cleaner: DBPR graded this kitchen an A (94/100), with 1 intermediate and 3 basic violations. Whatever the reviews argue about, sanitation is not the weak point. The visit behind that grade was March 4, 2026. That puts it ahead of 80% of graded kitchens in Lake County. For specifics, the last inspection cited dishwashing facilities and food-contact surfaces clean and sanitized.
With both signals pointing the same way, there is little to argue about on this listing. Full reviews follow below in the order they were left.

Food was so good . I recommend the brisket and Mac a cheese. Brisket was nice and juicy. Waitress was very nice and made sure we had everything. Definitely recommend eating here for any bbq. I will be back

The food is so good I would eat there every day if I could

Love the partnership with Tunnel’s to Towers! Great service, burger was great, my 8 year old tore through her brisket!

I don't know who is behind that grill but, GOD bless their hands... So Tender, So Juicy, So Flavorful. THE BANANA PUDDING 🤏🏾🤏🏾🤏🏾Great first time experience.

First thing I noticed was you have to go up to the counter to order. This is fine for me but my Mom has mobility issues and I have a 3 year old. It would be nice to have a server and time to read a menu or menus at the table we could read. I ordered the 3 meat sampler double ribs and brisket. It was very small portions. With 3 adults eating somehow we spent $92.00. 2 small women and 1 man. Seems like a lot. Meals do not include sides or drinks. We usually eat out for much less. I mentioned the serving size to Todd and he brought me out some more ribs on the house. Then he brought out some banana pudding!! Food was good. Portions to prices need help. Service was amazing!!!!! Todd understands customer service!!! Its rare these days. If Todd is not the manager he should be or he should be promoted!! Thank you Todd for making an ok experience a great one!! Because of you we will be back.

All Mission BBQs are superb. Food, service, and atmosphere. Thank you M BBQ for what you do. Brisket and green beans gone fast and the peach cobbler was another outstanding addition to the menu!

Food was great. The staff was friendly. I'll be back.

We don't have a Mission BBQ nearby where we live so this was our first time eating here. We ate at the Lady Lake location an I have to say it could not have been any better. The food was terrific. The atmosphere was Awesome but the service was absolutely OUTSTANDING ! We were treated like we were regular customers they have known for years an they went out of their way to guide us through the menu options an checked on us frequently during our meal making sure we did not lack for anything. I'm not sure what your doing but your doing it right an there is a lot of places that could learn from you. (at least this location anyways) Thank you for a great meal and a pleasurable dining experience !!

Tasty smoked food options. Friendly staff

I did not dine here- however, I have a lovely story. My parents just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary, and the staff at this restaurant made them feel so special! Our family was unfortunately unable to be with them on their special day, but it was heartwarming to know that strangers could. I want to commend the staff that were working on May 5th, 2026, and thank them for making my parents feel a little special on their special day.

My daughter has Celiac yet loves BBQ! If you are going to offer so many gluten free options then you should have a designated gluten free prep and cook station! There's a big difference in having gluten allergies and having actual Celiac Disease! She informed staff of her gluten issue and loved her meal! Today she calls me from work, been sick all morning! Ughh! Please try to do better! Yes we understand it's BBQ, so the possibilities of cross contamination can be endless, but with proper training and designated area, it should be a lot less possible!

Great fast food BBQ restaurant. One star away from being one of the best except for no table service.

Great food ,exceptional service, and family friendly atmosphere. My first time coming here I stood at the front door like a doofus waiting to be seated but the front desk is where you place an order. The waitress was very kind and explained everything in detail. Got my food and sat down and began eating. 10 mins go by and another waitress comes with a tray with a brownie for my first visit.

The staff was very sweet overall, except for one manager. While we were having dinner, he came over to say hello and then immediately accused us of putting stickers on the floor. The way he approached us and the tone he used were extremely unprofessional. Even though the food was great, I don’t plan on returning to an establishment that treats its patrons this way.

Mission Barbecue Lady Lake, Florida off of Route 27 April 15, 2026 12:10 hrs Today my wife and I (US Army Veterans) encountered a very unusual situation while eating lunch at this Mission Barbecue. During our 35-40 minute lunch we observed the floor hostess (female) ask at least eight other patrons around us, if they were veterans and offered them a dessert or something sweet. At no time during our lunch did she approach us to attain if we were veterans or first responders. We think this type of service should be addressed by management, that all patrons should be treated equally. I hope this is not common practice at this location towards minorities, maybe it’s just an isolated event. We dine at Mission Barbecues throughout the country and this has never occurred at another location. On the one hand if we were treated like this, how many other patrons encountered the same situation. This is our observation… We did bring it to the manager’s attention and the manager offered apologies and stated it should not have happened nonetheless we will not visit this location again.
