What diners say — our read

Something changed. Recent visits score noticeably higher than earlier ones. Reviewers who mention front-of-house rate this place 4.0 on average — it is working in the restaurant’s favour. After that, portion size appears most often — 22% of the corpus, averaging 4.0.

The single most common rating left here is 5 stars (14 of 27). A third strand, value for money, appears in 22% of them at 3.7 stars. Of the 27 rated reviews, 20 sit at four stars or better and 5 at two or below.

Against that, the kitchen inspects well — an A (95/100), 1 intermediate and 2 basic violations at the most recent DBPR visit. The visit behind that grade was March 10, 2026. Ranked against Orange County, it is safer than 61% of the restaurants we score. For specifics, the last inspection cited cross-contamination and food-contact surfaces clean and sanitized.

With both signals pointing the same way, there is little to argue about on this listing. Full reviews follow below in the order they were left.

The food was very tasty it was just very small portions like my little meat was $40 for that lol but it was very good and I like the presentation. It's very simple thing but it's very nice in there I enjoy it.

My wife and I loved this place. This was my first time eating here but my wife has been eating here every trip since she was a child. The atmosphere is nice, service is great, and food is so good. It's a little pricey but so worth it. I had a teriyaki burger. It's 2 smash patties, grilled pork belly and provolone cheese with a teriyaki sauce. We will definitely be eating here again.

Delicious breakfast and it really felt like I was back in Hawaii.

My family had a wonderful time at KONA!! Great service and a nice atmosphere! We had the Bao Buns (2) for an appetizer; very goodI my son had the Duck and my wife and daughter had Sautéed Qinua with Mahi/Chicken. I had the KONA-braised Short Rib with Bok Choy stalk and Carrot-Ginger Puré. The food was excellent!! The best prepared food I have probably ever had. An artist made this. I could separate my rib with a cheap plastic spoon because it was so tender!! But... you noticed everything on my meal was singular not plural. I could literally purchase all the ingredients at my local grocery store for under $8. The cost of my meal was $40. Again, it was a work of art, but it was not worth the price! Either increase the portions or lower the cost by about $15. PLEASE!!

I like the cafe vibe, it's relaxed. The service isn't quite as good as other Disney restaurants like Sanaa or Summer House, but the price point is much lighter so I guess you get what you pay for. The food was still quite good.

AMAZING FLAVORS!!! Please don’t be intimidated by the menu, EVERYTHING is to die for. All 3 of my kids LOVED everything WE ordered!! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND giving this a try, you will NOT be disappointed!!

Our waitress was very helpful, friendly and great advice! She was very attentive to all the tables, equally, that she was taking care of! The food was absolutely delicious as always! Highly recommend people have breakfast here while visiting WDW!!!

If you can’t get into Ohana, Kona Cafe is an excellent fall back option located nearby in the Polynesian Resort. Lots of choices from sushi to steak, but would highly suggest the glazed chicken wings and Kona braised short rib! And while they have great desserts, don’t feel like you have to get it here - Dole whip is just a short walk away at Pineapple Lanai!

The macadamia pancakes are amazing. Get the Kona Press Pot Coffee for two! The Tonga Toast is good also.

  • June 6, 2026

This is one of our favorite places for breakfast at WDW! The Tonga toast and Loco Moco are fantastic!

Had an awful experience here but I have to say the manager tried to rectify things. Food taking a long time wasn’t even the main issue, but when it came it was cold. Then they tried correcting it, but the food came incorrectly, and with missing items. They kept forgetting things and it ended up wasting time. Honestly, just felt like people didn’t really care. Just felt bizarre of an experience for what Disney is known to be. Maybe this was one off but this was my experience. Improving their execution alone can elevate the dining experience here. Until then, there’s little desire to go back.

IF you’re looking for an amazing breakfast at Disney World, Kona Café at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is absolutely worth the reservation. The food here truly stands out and feels like a little Hawaiian escape right in Florida. We ordered the macadamia pancakes, and they were honestly something special — fluffy, rich, and different from your typical breakfast pancakes. They really gave that tropical Hawaii vibe. The loco moco was delicious and tasted incredibly authentic. But the absolute standout was the Samoan Benedict. We haven’t seen this dish at other Hawaiian restaurants before, and it was unique, flavorful, and an absolute must-try. The service was perfect from start to finish. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed happy to be there, which made the experience even better. Food came out quickly, and everything was fresh and beautifully prepared. The restaurant itself was very clean, and the chairs were surprisingly comfortable. It’s not an intimate or quiet atmosphere — it can get a little loud — but honestly, the food more than makes up for it. Definitely make a reservation because this place is popular for good reason. Kona Café ended up being one of our favorite breakfasts at Disney World!

It was our first time dining here. The Poly is a beautiful resort. We went for breakfast and only waited 10 minutes to be seated, but it seemed like it took an eternity to get our food. It was 1 hour and 10 minutes from check in until we signed the bill. I’m not sure if that’s normal or not, but we really like our waitress and didn’t have any other plans for the day so the wait wasn’t an issue. The Tonga Toast was thick….like thiccc but the syrup and cold strawberry compote soaked right in. I enjoyed it and I liked the strawberry with the warm banana center. It also came with a pile of bacon. I don’t mean 1-2 sad little floppy pieces, but a mini stack of crispy bacon which is my favorite breakfast meat! The ham and cheese omelet was really good too! We actually liked it just as much as the Tonga toast. The grits were perfectly cheesy. Not too runny and not too thick. Just right and we cleaned that bowl! Overall it was a wonderful experience and we’re looking forward to going back.

Had dinner here, food was very good, had the wings, a small salad, and burger, both were very good! Mary was our server, very accommodating and took care of us! We would eat here again!

Almost 5 star, not quite. The service was great and the ambience and decor is great as with everywhere in the Polynesian Resort. My complaint is the Eggs Benedict I ordered. It was microscopic tiny. Not exaggerating. The entire dish could easily fit in the palm of your hand. I thought it was some type of hors d'oeuvre, I couldn't believe it was the whole breakfast. It was absolutely delicious, but wow it was tiny

This is a nice restaurant in a beautiful Disney resort. Unfortunately the food is not great. I had the Stir Fry with chicken and the noodles and chicken tasted so bland. I tried improving the taste with soy sauce, salt and pepper but still wasn’t eatable for my taste. Total waste of a $30+! Other members of my family had other items and they liked the Chicken Kimchi sandwich. They also ordered the steak salad which had good vegetables and so great looking steak. The service was good but it seems the hosts are used to people not liking the food and they didn’t bother ask why I didn’t take more than a couple of bites from my plate. You need to make reservations to get into the parking lot of the resort. The resort is worth seeing, but I would eat somewhere else.

Also jemand, der aus München kommt, findet hier eigentlich nichts Gescheites beziehungsweise Gesundes zu essen.

  • May 4, 2026

Great food, very kid friendly- would definitely recommend!

  • May 2, 2026

We ordered the Tonga toast it was dry and you couldn’t eat it as it was that hard around the edges the waitress offered to replace them but they shouldn’t be like that complete waste of time and money

My first visit here was exceptional, and I can already say I’ll be back. I happened to be dining on my birthday, and Bianca went above and beyond to make the occasion unforgettable—she actually sang "Happy Birthday" at the exact minute I was born! It was such a thoughtful, personalized touch. Our server, Liam, was also great and kept everything running smoothly. The food at Kona Cafe is high-quality and delicious. The portions are generous (ranging from normal to large), and the flavors really stand out. On a follow-up visit, our server Ben T. was absolutely fantastic. Thank you, Ben T., "Cousin," for making our meal so memorable. If you're looking for great food and a team that genuinely cares about your experience, I highly recommend this spot!

As with all places on property, the cast members make or break your experience and once again I received excellent service by the entire staff. Alll of the recommendations from the cast members were delicious.

  • April 24, 2026

I was super skeptical. Could Disney food be food? But you know what I am pleasantly surprised. And the service was good too!

  • April 23, 2026

Loved the Tonga Toast and Kona coffee. Can't wait to go back

  • April 22, 2026

Amazing food. Choose wisely though: breakfast for 4 or one ticket entry to Disney world.

  • April 21, 2026

Unique burger. Tasty. It's a cafe, not an experience.

  • April 19, 2026

My family and I got the rainbow and tuna poke bowls and they were very basic for the price. The bowls included no vegetables and no fruits options. You can literally get better poke at any mall or main street in any major city. The portions were also small. I wouldn't go again. Pretty disappointing.
