What diners say — our read

Whatever the overall score says, the last stretch of reviews is the weaker one. Reviewers who mention front-of-house rate this place 4.1 on average — it is working in the restaurant’s favour. After that, wait times appears most often — 32% of the corpus, averaging 3.7.

A third strand, how much food arrives, appears in 21% of them at 4.8 stars. The single most common rating left here is 5 stars (13 of 19). The split is 15 positive to 4 negative across 19 rated reviews.

The health record runs ahead of the reviews. The last DBPR inspection returned an A (93/100) with 2 intermediate and 1 basic violations. The visit behind that grade was February 19, 2026. Across its inspection history the kitchen is improving, which argues for giving it the benefit of the doubt. Ranked against Orange County, it is safer than 53% of the restaurants we score. For specifics, the last inspection cited cross-contamination and food-contact surfaces clean and sanitized.

Both measures agree, which is the least complicated version of this page. The underlying reviews are reproduced in full underneath.

Great steak, but my favorite part was dessert!

  • June 27, 2026

Service was terrible! Sat there for 20mins atleast until someone took our drink order. Food was average at best! The chocolate cake everyone raves about was dry! I would recommend skip this restaurant had a far better experience at Coral Reef in Epcot!

During our continuing education trip with a group of optometrists, we stopped by the bar at Steakhouse 71 in Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Our bartender, Shannon, seemed more focused on discussing tips and how they would be split than interacting with guests. One member of our group waited approximately 20–25 minutes for a cappuccino while sitting directly in front of the bar. We eventually had to remind her about the drink before it was finally served, and we were still charged for it. The atmosphere of the bar was nice, but the level of service did not match what I’ve come to expect from Disney. Hopefully this was just an off night, but based on our experience, there is definitely room for improvement.

First time back here since it switched from 'The Wave'. I must say I'm impressed; I asked a few people before coming if it was still good and everyone said yes, so I had to see for myself. We went to breakfast and each ordered different things including the seasonal pancakes. Everything came out great and portion sizes were bigger than we were expecting (which is good, I'd prefer more than less when eating at the resorts).

Our server, Sara, was fantastic!! The bacon egg and cheese appetizer is what we came for, and it did not disappoint. The crab cakes were excellent as well. I ordered the Steak Frites. It was already cut for me when it arrived which was a disappointment. I love cutting each bite, but...hey...1st world problems. It is a strip cut, so of course not expected to be perfectly tender, but I wasn't expecting there to be so much grizzle. The fries were tasty. My husband ordered the grilled cheese, and he loved it. The kids had plenty of dessert, which was an added bonus. Not much can be said for the atmosphere here because it doesn't really look like they are trying to go for any certain aesthetic. Perhaps geometric modernism?

Why in the world did you get rid of the amazing hanger steak from the lunch menu??? You literally have the NY Strip everywhere now. God forbid you have something slightly creative and different on the menu..🙄

Steakhouse 71 was easily one of the highlights of our Walt Disney World vacation. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere perfectly blended classic Disney nostalgia with an upscale yet comfortable steakhouse experience. The décor pays tribute to the opening era of Walt Disney World while still feeling modern and inviting. The food was exceptional. Every dish was prepared perfectly, from the expertly cooked steak to the incredible side dishes. The flavors were rich without being overwhelming, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite. The famous au gratin potatoes absolutely lived up to the hype, and the desserts were the perfect way to end the meal. What impressed me most was the value. For a Disney signature dining experience, the pricing felt surprisingly reasonable while still delivering high quality food and service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely focused on making our meal memorable. Service was prompt without feeling rushed, allowing us to relax and enjoy the entire experience. If you're visiting Walt Disney World and looking for an excellent steakhouse with great food, fantastic service, and a unique Disney atmosphere, Steakhouse 71 is a must visit. I would absolutely dine here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for one of the best dining experiences on Disney property.

We usually dine here every time we come down. Service can be very slow (took a full hour to get our meal after sitting down). We were seated 15 minutes after our reservation time. The crab cake appetizer is amazing- highly recommend! I wasn't happy with my wedge salad this time. As you can see from my photo, a ton of dressing and the smallest wedge I've ever seen. I should've just sent it back. My husband loved his steak, & kids loved their salmon. The chocolate cake dessert was delicious!

We tried Steakhouse 71 for the first time this June, and it did not disappoint. The high expectations I had for the burger were definitely met… it was AMAZING!! The ambience in the restaurant is very relaxing, and the space is very large. As a Tomorrowland lover, the decor made me so happy. I loved the framed photos of the parks and the paintings were gorgeous. We had a reservation and waited around 5 minutes to be sat. Service was amazing, and we even pin traded with staff while waiting. The food was 10/10. I started with the French onion soup and it was probably one of the best I’ve had. The broth was amazing and there was the perfect amount of cheese. We ordered 2 burgers, and they were mouth watering. To finish it off, we got creme brûlée and it was very good as well. 100% recommend trying it out on an off day!!

Not a fan of eating in the dining room but love the bar. Always great to stop in for snacks and drinks!

Dry aged pork chop the best!

Dinner at Steakhouse 71 was phenomenal from start to finish. A huge standout was our amazing waiter, Kaylee. She brought such a beautiful energy to the table, knew the menu inside and out, and effortlessly answered all of our questions! We started with the appetizers from the menu, and they were spectacular. The French Onion Soup was deeply savory with a perfect, bubbly layer of gooey gratinée cheese, the Lump Crab Cakes were packed with sweet crab meat over a smoky corn hash, and the loaded Iceberg Wedge Salad offered a wonderful, crisp contrast. For our entrees, both the 10-oz New York Strip (paired with ultra smooth mashed potatoes and rich macaroni and cheese) and the 6-oz Top Sirloin Steak (served with tender, parmesan-shaved charred asparagus) were cooked to absolute perfection. Pro-tip: Upgrade to the Sauce Flight! Sampling all five house-made sauces makes every bite an adventure. We finished the night with their spectacular Crème Brûlée, featuring a perfectly glassy torched crust, fresh berries, and adorable chocolate-dipped shortbread cookies with Mickey sprinkles. Between Kaylee's fantastic service and the top-tier food, it was a flawless meal. We will definitely be back!

Whether you are staying in the Contemporary and looking for a place to grab lunch or dinner, or looking for a place to escape from the Magic Kingdom for a few moments, Steakhouse 71 is a great option for casual, sit down dining. The burger & salmon were both fantastic!

One of my top 5 restaurant in Disney World. 🙌 Steaks are very good, the staff is very friendly. We had a Great Time with the server talking about Formula One (a passion of mine). The chocolate cake is simply Amazing It was a chance to visit the Contemporary Resort at the same Time. If you are looking to eat outside the Park at a reasonable Price, this is a very solid choice 🔥 I Will come back again at my next visit

It's a pain to get reservations for dinner here and then wait was long to get in even with reservations. But it's good food and decently priced for Disney. Service and server were great and breakfast is also great. Wouldn't go out of my way to come here but if you are at the Contemporary I'd go to it for sure - Breakfast 100%.
