TRADER SAMS GROG GROTTO

This is probably one of the hardest bars to get into on property. It's understandable, given the small size once you're actually inside. Currently the outdoor patio which usually never has a wait is closed. The themeing is top notch, which is what you would expect from Disney. The drinks that they serve are very unique and quite tasty. All ages can enjoy this bar, at least until 8:00 p.m. when it's 21 years or older. Would highly recommend getting on the waitlist which is very easy through the Walt Disney world app and can be done virtually

Best bar at WDW (sorry, close-behind Oga's in Galaxy's Edge and Beak and Barrel in Adventureland). Get to Poly by 130pm to get your name on the list or be prepared for a 3+ hour wait (although they get your # to text you when your spot is available so you can head back to the MK or chill out by the awesome Lava pool if you are staying at the resort, just be able to get back within 15 minutes of your notification). Regardless, once you are in, you are transported, Disney-style, to the iconic tiki bars of the '50s and '60s. Awesome tiki cocktails (complete with must-have souvenir tiki mugs for YOUR tiki room), delicious tapas, amazing cast members (Tim is da bomb), and a must-be-at-Disney show! This place is almost worth staying at the Polynesian for and a must-do by monorail from either the MK or EPCOT (or anywhere else by bus to the TTC, a short stroll away)! SIDEBAR: Tikiphiles should leave the bubble and visit the Orlando area's other awesome (and authentic) tiki bars: Aku Aku in DTO, Permanent Vacation in Maitland, and Suffering Bastard in Sanford! UPDATE: The Grog Grotto is now open at 11am! Still no reservations, but you can now join the walk-up list on the My Disney Experience app (or join the list in person like always).

We had SO much fun here! Drinks are strong and snacks were yummy.

Outstanding service and atmosphere! We are big tiki bar fans and this is the best one we’ve been to in the country. It’s a cool immersive experience with delicious, creative drinks. Even the food menu was surprisingly impressive. We had a celebration and their staff made the experience amazing. Definitely will be back!

This place was awful. We were on a bachlorette trip from canada we have came to this place hoping to have a good experience. Im so so sorry but we are a fun group of girls. We love meeting people, took some photos as apart of our bachlorette scavenger hunt. Then they denied us service. We waited 2 hours for that. We could’ve spent 200$ easy. But they said no just water. Like are you kidding me. So disappointed. How dare they. We are so upset. Disney fans for life and have never been treated with such poor hospitality. Also girls the front…Laughing at us on the way out. Shame on you.

What more can you say it’s traders Sam’s at Disney. It does seem like the drink affects pop off here more often than at Disneyland, which really helps. Keep the energy of the place going. Drinks have gotten pricey over the last year. I would say the average is somewhere around $23 now.

Trader Sam's Grog Grotto at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is an absolute must-visit for anyone looking for an immersive and wildly entertaining tropical lounge experience. ​From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a vibrant South Seas hideaway filled with fantastic tiki decor and clever Easter eggs nodding to classic Disney attractions. ​The real magic, however, lies in the interactive elements. Whenever certain drinks are ordered, the atmosphere changes with special effects and cast-led interactions that make every sip an adventure. ​While it's family-friendly until eight in the evening, after that, it becomes an adults-only sanctuary perfect for enjoying a Nautilus or a legendary Zombie. It's amazing how much thought goes into the presentation and storytelling behind each of their signature drinks. The way the cast members commit to the story, combined with those fun special effects, really makes the whole experience unforgettable. It's like being part of a mini-show while enjoying your drink.

One of my favorite spots to be! It may be a small venue, but it packs a mighty atmospheric punch that can't be beat. Whether you're looking to be immersed in a unique atmosphere, grab a snack, drink or cocktail - Trader Sam's has you covered! Just make sure you set aside a good amount of time, because you'll more than likely have to join the wait list before grabbing a spot inside. Otherwise, there's a beautiful patio outside with a nice water feature often featuring live music as well. Don't forget to bring home one of their quality limited edition tiki mugs that are so much fun to collect, display and use at home.... goddess Uh-Oa insists🌋°o°

Immersive and delicious! The servers are amazing and like actors! The whole place is truly amazing with great food and even better drinks! Can't recommend it enough! Seems like each drink is greeted with their own intro.

Had an amazing time! I ordered the uh-ah, and was very impressed with the delivery of the show! Loved the vibe and atmosphere. I did feel the pressure of “drink, eat and get out”, totally get it as they need to turn the table over quickly. Not sure about the waitress personality, if it was part of the theme or what 🤔 but definitely wasn’t the typical happy Disney server vibe we were used to. We used the Disney app to make a reservation and seemed pretty easy. Once we got the text to come to the bar we walked in and got the feel of “why are you here” once we said we just got the text our table was ready mood totally changed and turned into “welcome come on in”. (There was no one at the door outside). All-in-all, had an amazing time and want to go back soon.

Visited here for the first time during a resort day. Got on the wait list around 5pm and then went over to Wailulu bar and grill to grab a quick bite to eat while I waited. Around 6pm our table was ready at Sam’s so we headed over. Our server was great, the drinks were fantastic and the atmosphere is other worldly. A must do if you have time!

Walt Disney, to Victor Bergeron: "Hey. Hold my Mai Tai." For real. Trader to trader. Sam's is Vic's turned up to eleven, and then maybe even to twelve. It's got the Disney budget. It's got the Disney imagineers, and they can do set dressing, right? It's got drama! Action! Adventure! Something is always going on. And it's in the basement of the Polynesian Resort at Disneyworld. This is as Polynesian Pop as it can get with the multi-million dollar budget to make it happen. Which they do. Look. If you're reading this, you know all that already. So here are your pro tips: Make a reservation. The Disney app works for that, supposedly. They'll take walk-ins. But since the space is small, expect a wait. If you're not doing and or staying at the park, then even to get there you have to park in the main lots, tram in, monorail over, and then put your name on the wait list. Hours later, you get in. Pregame at Ohana. Worth all that? If you read "Trader Vic" and said to yourself "yeah, I know who that guy is" then the answer is a solid yes.

This might be a fun place if the cast members weren't so rude I had to leave.
