Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
There is no middle ground in these 23 reviews. Opinion on the staff is split — those reviews land at 3.9 on average. How long an order takes is the next most common subject, in 26% of reviews (averaging 2.8).
More reviewers landed on 5 stars than any other score — 15 of 23. 17 of 23 rated reviews are four stars or higher; 4 are two or lower. A third strand, serving size, appears in 17% of them at 3.3 stars.
The health record runs ahead of the reviews. The last DBPR inspection returned an A (93/100) with 1 intermediate and 4 basic violations. That result dates from May 14, 2026. The trend across inspections is decline. That puts it ahead of 74% of graded kitchens in Lake County. What the inspector actually wrote up: food & equipment thermometers provided and accurate and food-contact surfaces clean and sanitized.
Both measures agree, which is the least complicated version of this page. Full reviews follow below in the order they were left.

Great place. Ordered the Buffalo Cauliflower Steak and it was AMAZING! Great staff. Pleasant experience.

Great food and beers

The food and drinks are consistently great every time we dine here.

I have been here previously and had a similar issue the food is good however the service is awful. Today my husband and I went in and got sat. We sat there for over 10 minutes without any acknowledgement and it wasn’t busy at all so we left. Super disappointing
-
Great food (including some gluten-free options I wouldn’t normally expect) and really knowledgeable servers.
-
It is great.... every time!
-
Food portions were smaller than normal. They ran out of draft beer on a Wednesday (?) Brussels sprouts came out black.

Walked out without being served. Was overlooked by staff so many times at the bar. They either worked out I was British from my t shirt or something as I was actively ignored. Would definitely avoid if your from the UK, didn't feel welcome at all. Got a few side glances!? Avoid if you not American.

Sunday afternoon (Off Season), no wait for seating. Mozzarella sticks (huge) and Firecracker shrimp appetizer were delicious. The Fish and chips were also large, fresh and delicious. Service was great. Nice atmosphere.
-
The chicken wings were very good. Service was a bit slow, this was a busy weekend for them. Food and her pleasentness made all better

My mom and I had a wonderful time at Brick & Barrel. They have a great beer selection and several vegetarian options - the gochujang cauliflower was out of this world. The best part of our experience was the service. Lana was knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly kind. Her energy was infectious, and we'd come back again just to see her.

good food, service was good as well.
-
Enjoyed our meal. Lots of interesting menu items. Was a bit disappointed in the tap beer selections. Portion size was a bit small for the price. Would like to visit again and try some of their other menu options!

Great staff and amazing food.

I went with a large group , 40 people. The person in charge of this luncheon confirmed with Brick and Barrel at 4 pm the previous day to make sure they could accommodate us. We reset for two hours with basically one person serving 40 people. My table of three. planned on ordering the three different flatbreads to share. When the waiter finally came to take out order, he said there was no flatbread or any steaks. We ordered chicken sandwiches. My row of tables were served not too long after that, however, the rest of the ladies waited at least another half hour before they got their food. Some people did get steak and flatbreads after where we were told there was none. The person in charge of this luncheon went to the manager, and he said “we do not apologize“.one of our ladies was served a dry piece of fish. They were going to replace it with another new piece, but never came back! This place should never have confirmed that they couldn’t accommodate our large group, and on top of that not apologize for the delays and offer any kind of compensation to our host! We did not want to embarrass our host, or make her feel bad, even though none of this was her fault, but most of us were ready to just get up and walk out!

Place smells of weed. Ordered a ribeye and got a porterhouse steak. Asked for medium rare and got medium. Drinks tool forever. We got appetizers before drinks.
