The service was amazing, we were immediately seated and ordered drinks. We got the potato pancakes and they came out quick and they were super fresh and hot. Our chicken and pork schnitzels were amazing too, they were paper thin and very crispy, the gravy on both was also delicious. The atmosphere was very cute and I would 100% recommend it!

Went with my Dad a bit back, was not exactly my taste but im a picky eater so thats irrelevant, what matters is that my Dad said it was incredible and he liked it a lot. Environment was nice and the staff were very nice too :]

Cant tell you if the food is good. Can tell you that the website doesnt work, and when we arrived, we were bluntly told reservations only, and no reservations available. Meanwhile every table outside was empty and half the tables inside were empty. They also have an automatic 20% gratuity added to all bills. Can't tell you if it's worth it but I doubt it.

We had lunch and food was small and basic but it was strange that 20%tip was automatically added to the bill! I thought that tip is based on service and food! Sorry but I don’t approve new rules :(

Me and my wife drove over an hour to have a Friday night dinner. We you look up the restaurant online says open till 9. Get there at 5:50 a lady sitting out front I believe she works there! She tell us we close at 6 this time of the season. I tell her google says 9. She proceeded to tell me they can control what time is say. Well mam yes you can that’s the point of having your hours online! But just the way she approached the situation was very rude. I hope she doesn’t work there. Becasue I wouldn’t want someone like that working for me! A

I want to say that I have been going to the Bavarian House for the past 15 years so here is my story on it. Years ago, It was great. I would go with my mother every weekend until she passed in 2019. I continued going there with my children for memory sake. The previous owners Patricia and Achim were just great people dressed up in the traditional Bavarian outfits. My mother was always excited to go there because she could talk to Achim in German ( Mom was Austrian ). Every time the food was great because both the owners would cook and serve and when they needed help, the helping waitress was wearing a traditional Dirndl dress as well. Fast forward to 2022 - ?, Patricia and Achim no longer continued the business for whatever reason and handed it over to the now owners. I checked the website which I see has been taken down and the new owners didn't think on putting up a new one. I continued to go just not as much as I use to but almost every time it seemed to get worst, the food is dry. I gave the new owners ( 2 women both I believe are American ) the benefit of the doubt but nothing changed. There is nothing German about the Bavarian House except the German beer and other than what is in the window display and German music on the outside patio which is turned down low. It seems that the new owners do not wish to continue the German tradition but instead post a sign stating that this is not a Hamburger joint ... very tacky. Also beware of the posted Automatic 20% gratuity…

If you're vegetarian or vegan, you can't eat here so I didn't. Even authentic German dishes have meat in them like the saurkraut and potato pancakes. The salad barely has any vegetables in them and they weren't willing to make me anything. I don't trust a kitchen that doesn't even have a vegetarian option because of cross contamination. I used the restroom and it was dirty and gross! Between the complete lack of vegan options and the place was dirty, I would not recommend this place.

What you seek for a small, intimate dining experience. Limited seating. Beyond! Excellent food. Fantastic beer section. A low key diamond in German food. Think of a German beer restaurant, in Bavaria. This is it. My Sauebraten was marinated in vinegar for 10 days. For Tender. (( Think similar to a Pot Roast)). The Apple Strudel is home made. The best food that I have enjoyed in a very long time.

This place has become too expensive. Three 12 OZ beers & a small pretzel $43. With an added 18% mandatory gratuity. I think the management changed. The original owners would have their staff dress in original Bavarian attire. Now it’s casual and mellow. I am passing, the next time I am in Mount Dora.

This was our first and last time visiting. We didn’t like it. The service wasn’t good, and the food wasn’t either. They charge you for sharing a plate and add gratuity upfront regardless of the number of people. On top of that, they still expect an additional tip. It felt like they were trying to take money any way they could. I should have realized something was off when the restaurant was empty while all the others around it were full.

It was a mediocre meal with poor service. In this area, you can find better alternatives offering superior food, service, and value.

We eat here every time we come to Mt. Dora (for the last 5 years). The brat is the best you will find (from Germany) with an incredible pure taste and no grease. All the food is very good but if you want a real brat, you have to try these!

You can smoke cigarettes outside! No parking. Good beer. Fair German food. Great location. Dingy place. Nice people: #1.

Good chicken noodle soup. Same dreadful German anthem played over and over and over and over in the stereo. The other review mentioned the strict service…not friendly but got the job done. Also the sign saying “you take it my way or you don’t get the damn thing” made us scared to ask for anything from the waitress.

Our first visit and we were pleased! My only reason for not giving five stars is they added 20% to the bill for gratuity and said they prefer cash but will take any card but AE. I would have likely tipped more, but when someone helps themselves to 20, we’ll just go with that. They did not point out it was already added and when they brought the receipt for signature there was another tip line waiting. I don’t know if the menu had the tip disclosure. Be aware! And we will likely go back and look for it. And we were a party of two!

We had a fabulous German dinner that rivaled my German mother’s cooking! My brother lives out of state and can’t wait to come back. He had the Wiener Schnitzel and my sister-in-law and I had the Sauerbraten. The portions were generous and were freshly prepared. With a little updating inside, this could be the German hot spot! The chef Sarah was trained by the Bavarian owner and she has nailed Bavarian cuisine! The server La was excellent! We were too full for dessert but took a piece of Black Forest torte home and wished we had purchased 3! It is exquisite. As a Bavarian born and American raised foodie, I highly recon this restaurant!

Oh my goodness! The prices have gone up significantly. For instance, there’s a meal I absolutely love. Last time, I paid $40, but now it’s $50. Moreover, a mandatory 20% service charge is now applied, regardless of the number of people in the group.

The greeting and service were attentive and friendly. But the food was just mediocre. And the atmosphere was less than friendly even before coming inside (see photos). I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that the place was entirely empty when I came in (and there was still only one other customer there when I left). I didn’t hate it, but I can’t recommend it either.

My family and I were in town today for our mother’s funeral who was German. We thought we would get to together 01/08 tonight and eat German food. We walked in, we had 9 adults and 5 small kids. The lady at the front bar area was absolutely rude and told us we could not eat there. Her attitude toward us was unacceptable and had the worst tone a place of service should ever have. We walked next door to the Italian restaurant who welcomed us with a warm hug and had no problem accommodating our family.
