Community Rating
Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
Recent diners are rating this place better than the back catalogue suggests. How guests are treated tends to be raised approvingly here, averaging 4.3 stars.
The split is 21 positive to 2 negative across 23 rated reviews. 5 stars is the modal score, given by 19 of the 23 reviewers who rated. Conspicuously absent: freshness and temperature, which no reviewer brings up.
On the inspection side the picture is cleaner: DBPR graded this kitchen an A (94/100), with 2 intermediate violations. Whatever the reviews argue about, sanitation is not the weak point. That inspection was on June 26, 2026. Across its inspection history the kitchen is declining, which argues for reading the older reviews with caution. On health score it sits safer than 80% of the Lake County restaurants we grade. Among the items recorded were food-contact surfaces clean and sanitized and food manager certification.
Nothing here pulls in opposite directions — an unusually clean read. The individual reviews are below, newest first, if you want the raw material.

-
This was the best, creamiest ice cream we have found in downtown Mount Dora!

Delicious espresso martini 💝☕

The food was delicious. The service was slow, but it wasn't the workers fault. They were extremely short handed and busy. The staff was really friendly and working really hard! The atmosphere was okay... they had let way to many people in a very small area.
-
The black and blue burger was great! And the onion straws.
-
Really love this hidden gem. Great food(especially the burgers) and atmosphere.
-
Didn't eat this time but always great spot. Cool side street dive bar. It's not a dive tho. Make sure you stop in.
-
Pretty good good for reasonable nice interior. The only thing lacking is outside seating.
-
Best chocolate martini I've ever had! Definitely coming back for food next time

This place is a hidden gem. We visited the end of March & were looking for something a little off the beaten path. We found it! We love to sit at the bar and enjoy the atmosphere. We also have a general rule when we travel, not to eat at the same place twice. We broke our rule and had lunch here two days in a row. The first day we shared a burger with fig jam, caramelized onions & goat cheese. Our side was fries. Delicious! Day two, still extending the St. Patrick’s Day theme, we had a burger with shaved corned beef, sauerkraut, cheese and secret sauce. This time we ordered the sweet potato fries with a side of blue cheese for dipping. 😆 lunch was incredible! Drinks were spot on, service was friendly and attentive. We will be back on our next trip to Mt. Dora.

Had the cheeseburger. Delicious. Nice side salad with good greens. Very friendly service. Loved the atmosphere.

We used to come here every other weekend, but systematically it has been a constant disappointment… some of the food is still good like the burgers and the wings, but we used to order the clams and they were the best we ever tasted, now they changed either the clams or the recipe and now the clams are no longer what they were, they are slimy. Nevertheless we gave it a last chance yesterday without order the clams, and although the burgers were good, the service was really bad, we ordered two basement beer and waited 20 minutes before we had to stand up and get it ourselves from the bar. We are not used to bad service, and unfortunately we will not be coming back.
-
Unbelievably rude staff and management. Came in with a party of 4, there were three open tables with 6 seats. The hostess had to check with management and to see if she could even seat us at those tables. Manager told her no those are reserved for parties of 6 even though there were 3 open tables. They literally turned away our business because we didn’t “meet the requirements” to be seated at this restaurant. Absolutely disgusting treatment and will never go back to this place.
