Community Rating
Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
This is the pattern the site exists to surface: strong reviews, weak inspection. Where front-of-house comes up, the rating that follows averages 4.2, so it reads as a strength.
The single most common rating left here is 5 stars (17 of 22). Of the 22 rated reviews, 19 sit at four stars or better and 3 at two or below. No one in this corpus comments on how much food arrives at all.
The inspection record is the harder read. DBPR graded this kitchen an F (51/100) on 4 high-priority, 3 intermediate, and 8 basic violations — a verdict the review average does not reflect. The visit behind that grade was May 14, 2026. The trend across inspections is improvement. Ranked against Volusia County, it is safer than 1% of the restaurants we score. For specifics, the last inspection cited potentially hazardous foods properly thawed and cross-contamination.
Taken together, this is a place diners like and inspectors do not. A good meal and a clean kitchen are different questions. The underlying reviews are reproduced in full underneath.

Leaving a review for non-service. In town for the weekend with family checked menu online looked good, we got there Friday night 6pm party of 5 checked in for a 30 min. wait took our phone # said would call/text when table is ready 35 min. later asked how much longer and they didn't have us on the list so asked for a manager and was very apologetic said we'll be taken care of immediately 10 min. later we were told it would be another 30 min. So now it's up to 75 min. Of course we walked away and spent our $300. elsewhere. Strange treatment when there are a dozen other places within walking distance and with no wait.

Great vibes and Stephanie I think was her name was super on point. The food wasn't as great as hoped probably just what I selected. Typical beach bar food. Got the soft crab sandwich and it was just too much bread for me.

Very good but wanted to eat at the bounty upstairs. Was a little disappointed or else it would have been 5 stars

Love this place and obviously everyone else does too because it's packed all day

My burger was burnt and charred badly when I ordered it medium well. Normally I wouldn’t write a review but it was that bad. Besides that the server was great and the atmosphere was nice. I was just disappointed as it was $64.00 total for 2 burgers, a pretzel and a soda, and the pretzel was the only decent food.

Food and drinks were great. Great atmosphere and music. The games were a great addition to the night!

Flagler Tavern never misses. The food is incredible, the atmosphere is unmatched, and our server Tim made the whole experience. He is genuinely one of the best servers I’ve had… so attentive and on top of everything without you ever having to ask. I did bottomless mimosas and he kept things moving perfectly the entire time. Tim is personable, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure I felt taken care of from the moment I sat down. If you go, ask for him. 10/10 all around! 👏🏼

It took 20 minutes just for a server to greet us and take our drink order. When the drinks finally arrived, two of them were incorrect. Throughout the night, our waiter was completely MIA—we had to flag down a busser just to get water refills and ask for missing silverware.

Talyn is probably the best bartender I have ever had, she is very attentive, passionate, and very good at her job. She deserves a raise.

This is our 10th Friday at Flagler tavern or the Walter Lee band. Great place to go at 5 PM on a Friday.. tonight our waitress was Stephanie H. She did a fantastic job and our lemon drops drinks came out exactly like we wanted. Great story about 3 fingers 😁

Really glad we decided to stop here when strolling through New Smyrna. Food was okay, nothing special, but Jason was just lovely. SUCH a good server. Super polite, positive attitude, attentive. Without a doubt the best service we received during our trip to Florida, couldn’t have asked for better. Thank you!

Great place for lunch after a spa day. The food was delicious, I ordered the Poke bowl with Ahi. Delicious. Staff was very nice, very personable, it was quiet so we could talk without screaming at each other. 🥰🥰🥰
