Best breakfast in New Smyrna Beach. Great restaurant if you want to options other than the southern American breakfast classics.

I’m genuinely confused by the high rating and positive reviews for this restaurant. I don’t know if we were there on a bad day for them, but it did not seem overly busy. In fact, we were seated right away. First, our waitress never introduced herself. We left not knowing her name. She was not friendly enough for us to feel comfortable asking her name. She looked uncomfortable every time she approached us. I feel like when I walked in to inquire about the wait time people kind of stared at me. I was not dressed in any unusual way so I’m not sure why that happened. My coffee was great, but everything else was honestly horrible. I don’t know how a southern restaurant messed up the biscuits, but they did not look, feel or taste like they were made that day. And they didn’t look like any biscuits I’ve ever seen before. They looked more like toast. The grits were lukewarm and just not good. The omelette had no flavor. Somehow, the pancakes had no flavor either. My husband agreed that the food was not at all flavorful and we had eaten at other local restaurants the previous days that we visited NSB and they were all amazing. In fact, our children got used to us leaving 5 star reviews everywhere else. I very rarely leave negative reviews, but I don’t think it would be right for other travelers to come to this place expecting a great experience based on the high rating like we did. I used to love this place, but unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience this time. I ordered the French toast, which normally comes with strawberries. Instead, I asked the server if I could have bananas. When I went to pay, I noticed an extra charge for the small amount of banana that was added. I found this disappointing because I was simply asking to swap the strawberries for bananas, not add an extra item. It's not about the money it's about the principle. Because of this experience, I don't plan on returning.

Wake Up Cafe’ was absolutely delicious! Everything was so yummy! The service was great as well! Get the cinnamon roll it’s so good!

The food here is unfortunately not flavorful at all and definitely not as advertised. We came here because of the 4.7 stars, but left feeling duped and wondered how an establishment like this was able to get that many stars. The customer service was unfortunately unwelcoming and uncomfortable. All of the employees we came across appeared unhappy to be there. Our server never told us her name, and she seemed distracted and aloof. We will not be returning here, and would not recommend Wake Up Café to anyone.

Clean, cozy, food was amazing! Service was excellent and the food portions were very good! Definitely coming back!!!

Food was fantastic and the aesthetic was cute. On the other hand the service was not so great. I’d advise if you’re looking for stellar service and you don’t look like an old retired person the service will be lackadaisical. Had to basically beg for a refill mind you I sat at the countertop in front of all of the servers and the owner.

The food was sooo good. If you get a chance try some of the dishes from Spain, the tortilla stack is amazing!!

The latte was so bad i didn't finish it. They put rotten strawberries in my parfait. My daughter's French toast was so bad she didn't finish it. Definitely off the list to go back.

I love to wake up Cafe. Great food. Different things to order that aren't at other restaurants. Great servers and very clean restaurant

Came here for a quick bite with my sister in law to cure our hangovers while Dad and Stepmom were shopping over at Bealls. The Messi empanada is life changing, and I’m ready to go about my day now. Thank you!

Loved everything about this place, the service was incredible, the food came out quick and was delicious. I got the Dulce de Leche Stuffed French Toast and I have never had anything better! Definitely recommend.

Cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. My teen boys will actually get up for breakfast if I tell them we are going here. We have been to NSB only a few times and this is always on the list for us to visit. It’s always busy- but they get people seated quickly.

We had a couple different empanadas, and they were really yummy.

Worst part of the experience; deciding what to order! I wasn't fast enough to take pictures of what we all ordered before the food was consumed. Here is just one of the mouthwatering plates, my daughter's dulce de leche waffles with strawberries. My teenage boy got lots of protein and carbs on his plate; eggs, sausage, veggies and crispy and tasty hash browns. We tried the different kinds of empanadas, all very good. I loved my eggs Florentine with spinach and asparagus, two poached eggs with creamy hollandaise sauce. So good! Also loved the owner family's story. Prices are VERY reasonable, we'll be back next time we're back at NSB.

The best breakfast/lunch place in NSB! Wonderful eggs made numerous ways; outstanding waitstaff and reasonably priced! A neighborhood gem. Not a chain, just a honest to goodness local business.
