Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
Reviews here split hard: 7 five-star against 5 one-star, with little in between. When how guests are treated comes up here it is usually a criticism, and the ratings attached average 2.7. After that, speed of service appears most often — 24% of the corpus, averaging 3.5.
5 stars is the modal score, given by 7 of the 17 reviewers who rated. Conspicuously absent: cleanliness, which no reviewer brings up. 9 of 17 rated reviews are four stars or higher; 5 are two or lower.
On the inspection side the picture is cleaner: DBPR graded this kitchen an A (95/100), with 1 intermediate and 2 basic violations. Whatever the reviews argue about, sanitation is not the weak point. That inspection was on April 13, 2026. Its inspection trajectory is upward over the records we hold. On health score it sits safer than 68% of the Volusia County restaurants we grade. Among the items recorded were nonfood-contact surfaces clean.
The weak part of this listing is the experience, not the sanitation — those are different failures. The individual reviews are below, newest first, if you want the raw material.

My husband and I had a quick dinner here and we both said we like steak n shake better than chikfila and five guys.
-
Love the beef tallow fries and garlic hamburger but wow super size much? Either fill it up properly as advertised or make a smaller container so it doesn't look ridiculous like this. False advertising huh?
-
Great place to eat. The hamburgers are excellent quality. No wait staff. You order at a kiosk which is great. Food arrives quickly.

Half off shakes happy hour

I use to always enjoy coming in but now they have turned it into a fast food pit stop operation. You order yourself through a kiosk. No customer service of any kind. I watch two employees who were cooks just leaning on the grill. One running his hands in his hair and then cooking. No gloves either. I enjoy the Frisco melt and the chilli is good. I will just order through a delivery service for now on.

Horrible service. My wife went to get a shake for our 4 year old son because she had received a coupon for a free shake from another FL location. She was going to buy two shakes. The employee stated it was only valid in Indiana (we haven’t ever been to Indiana) My wife explained she received the coupon from a FL location. They still would not accept the coupon.

My order was wrong at the drive thru. It will be a long time before I go back

I ASK FOR A DIET COKE NO ICE AND I GET A DIET COKE FULL OF ICE. I SAY IT WAS DIET COKE NO ICE AND I GET A REGULAR COKE ..... Ladies, pay attention to what you're doing. This is why guests sometimes get upset: you don't pay attention to what you're doing. You act like you hate your job and like all guests are annoying when you're the ones not concentrating.

We usually come here after games and it never disappoints, service is always good, food is consistent , and the price is right.

I used to have a 5 star rating for this place but today it drops to 1. Having me stand there for 15 minutes waiting for my togo order is beyond unprofessional
-
Nasty attitude from window staff because I was a black it’s 2026 disgusting !
-
I went specifically to try the fries that are cooked with beef tallow, to me it made a difference. I will go back again.

Love them steakburgers, beef tallow fries & shakes!
-
They served at the tables . The guy who is in the midday very professional
-
Two of the most disappointing sandwiches I ever had. So much slop sauce on it we threw most of it away, fries undercooked and soggy and cold! Shakes were ok!!! Worst $25.00 we spent We did call and the manager, she said that’s how much sauce corporate says to put on! She did offer to remake it but we were home already.
-
Always one of my favs the garlic burger and the Frisco melt
