What diners say — our read

How guests are treated dominates the conversation here — it comes up in 83% of the 23 reviews. Opinion on how guests are treated is split — those reviews land at 3.5 on average. After that, speed of service appears most often — 30% of the corpus, averaging 2.9.

5 stars is the modal score, given by 10 of the 23 reviewers who rated. Price shows up in 17% of reviews as well, averaging 4.0. The split is 12 positive to 8 negative across 23 rated reviews, with 3 in the middle.

On the health side, the most recent DBPR inspection returned a B (85/100) — middling, much like the reviews. That inspection was on June 12, 2026. Its inspection trajectory is upward over the records we hold. On health score it sits safer than 30% of the Orange County restaurants we grade. Nothing was written up at that inspection at all.

The weak part of this listing is the experience, not the sanitation — those are different failures. Everything above is computed from the 23 reviews reproduced below.

I called the night before to confirm if we could use two Groupons (set of 4 and set of 2) for our birthday group, they confirmed we could. I bought the Groupon then called back to RSVP for the next night, I redeemed the Groupon codes for the staff which was requested from both Groupons. Next night, we ate, aftwards got the bill and saw only the 4 group Groupon was applied. Upon clarification, the manager told us it was only one Groupon per table and they cannot do anything about it. I explained if we had known we would have just split up into two tables with two bills - I asked the manager if he could split the bill into two to apply the two redeemed codes already but he informed they he cannot. We would have appreciated if they store would have had honor their initial agreement. Otherwise; Service was good and food was decent.

My family and I had an amazing experience at A-Aki Sushi & Steakhouse - Avalon. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The sushi rolls were excellent, the hibachi was cooked perfectly, and the portions were very generous. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The restaurant has a great atmosphere that’s perfect for both family dinners and special occasions. Everything arrived quickly, and the quality of the food exceeded our expectations. If you’re looking for great sushi, hibachi, and outstanding service in Avalon Park, this is definitely a place worth visiting.

Idk what happened to this place. This place used to be delicious. Its stinks in there. Its hot. Its musty. The menu covers are torn up and the papers inside are atrocious. Spill marks of who knows what liquid!? They need to figure something out. I was told "The menu is out dated, just ask your server they will let you know what we have.

Was excited to come here I lived in Avalon 13 yrs ago and remember this place to always be fantastic… Holy moly, but did it go downhill the whole restaurant needs work. There was only one server available during lunchtime. The bathrooms were horrible cracks and sinks. Missing tile not clean. Is this place closing? How in the world is this place open?

We have been coming to this restaurant since 2017 and have enjoyed it since. The owner is very nice and always has conversations with us and our kids to make us feel comfortable. Our favorite has always been the all you can eat both KBBQ and regular side as well as the bento boxes, all VERY filling options.

Received bad service, long waits in between orders, server got food order wrong then forgot to put in another order. Had to look for hostess to be able to pay check, she was unable to split check into 2 cards and got 20% gratuity forced into the check for a party of 3.

Tbh I’m surprised they are still open after so many repeated food safety and health code violations.

Best krab rangoons I have EVER eaten. Their chicken and shrimp hibachi is amazing, the service is awesome and the music can't be beat! I just wish it were closer to home!

This was our first visit we are from out of town. A lady with dark hair who was tallish checked us in and scanned my Groupon voucher. Then we were seated. J was our server he did a great job serving us. He helped us make a decision for our last round so thank you J! When we gave him his tip we left the restaurant. And the same lady who checked us in comes running out to us and shouts from the door in a matter that I did not find very friendly and rather rude and says “did you pay?” That was not a good experience at the end. So ya no thanks. Overall food was great so was J but that girl no.

Attempted to dine in today by making a reservation for the night, expecting it to be busy since it was a Saturday. I called and they said there was no need to make a reservation unless I was attempting to use a coupon and that I could just come in. Well we went in and the wait time to be seen by the hostess was closing in on 7 minutes of us just standing at the lobby. Many people in uniform walked by us and didn’t say a word. Eventually when we were seen by the hostess she said that they were only seeing reservations because they were all booked out ??? I’ll leave it at that, but I’m never going to attempt to come here again.

I recently tried the BBQ at A-Aki Sushi & Steakhouse Avalon for the first time. I’ve been there before for sushi and have never had a bad experience-at most, service was a bit slow, but the food has always been enjoyable. Unfortunately, my BBQ experience wasn’t as great. It was just two of us dining, and the restaurant was empty when we arrived, yet service still took a while. It seemed like there wasn’t enough staff at first, and I even wondered if our server was the only one working in that area. As more customers started coming in later, our server became more active in the area, but the initial service felt limited. The BBQ price was $29.99 per person. The food itself wasn’t bad—the short ribs were pretty good. I didn’t catch my server’s name during the visit, but my receipt listed her as Sarah I. When we received our check, I noticed that a 20% gratuity had already been added for just two people. According to Sarah, this is automatic regardless of service and is “how it is everywhere.” That surprised me, as I’ve usually only seen automatic gratuity applied to larger groups (typically 6 or more, often around 18%). For comparison, I recently dined at Gen BBQ in Waterford with four people and did not have an automatic 20% gratuity added. I gave my server at Gen a 25% gratuity anyways cause she was amazing! Overall, the experience was okay, but the slow service and unexpected gratuity policy made it less enjoyable. I’m curious if this practice is actually common everywhere…

Upon arrival, our party waited almost 30 minutes to be seated . I had to call the restaurant to let them know that there were guest in the front lobby (roughly 3 other parties). The waiter rushed us . Never received my crab Rangoon , and to top it off they charged my card TWICE! …ugh . Not a good first experience for me

    Amada provided great service.

The best sushi restaurant in the area.

  • March 14, 2026

I had the Korean BBQ. First thing I noticed was they laid parchment paper on the grill and said it needed to stay on. That really messed with the quality of the food because we couldn’t properly render the fat on the cuts of meat. It also would burn the paper and overall made the experience worse. The meat itself wasn’t the best quality; very tough and chewy. The marinades also weren’t good. Most lacking salt, the bulgogi was basically just brown sugar. The portions per food order were tiny. For example, if you order spring rolls, they bring out one spring roll cut in half. This wouldn’t be too bad if the meat and appetizers came out quickly, but you’ll wait about 15 minutes to get the meat out. It’s raw meat so I didn’t quite understand that. Maybe there was something going on in the kitchen. All that said, the servers were very nice, I don’t think it was their fault the food took forever to come out. Overall, this is without a doubt the worst KBB I’ve had in Orlando (I’ve been to 3 other restaurants).

A few weeks ago, I dined in for dinner at A-aki in Avalon Park with my family. As a regular patron, I continue to be impressed by the consistently high quality of both the food and the service. The newly introduced menu offers a wide variety of options. I would like to specifically acknowledge Amanda, whose attentive and cheerful service greatly enhanced our dining experience, even during peak hours. Despite the busy environment, she maintained a positive attitude and ensured we were well cared for. We look forward to returning to A-aki as usual.

I wanted to be able to leave a higher review but too many mistakes were made. Ordered the Tito's vodka and got regular. Ok no biggie. I got a roll for my main meal (we did the all you can eat even though we weren't even offered the option - I had to ask for it ) and my husband got fried rice and chicken katsu . After waiting another 20 min after I got my roll so we could eat our mains together, I asked our server if it was coming out soon and he brought the paper we ordered on . He pointed out we got all the appetizers and my roll; he didn't see the problem. I showed him they completely missed my husband's dinner. Ok fine it took a while but that came out. Then I ordered a plum wine from the Happy Hour menu. When we got the bill they charged us full price for the wine. I brought it up to the server and he stated sorry the system won't allow it. I said but it's on the happy hour menu. He said well it doesn't let me . He wound up discounting it after but as of server he should have informed us before just charging us. The food overall was good. No complaints. But the experience with the server left a bad taste.
