Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
Diners are harder on this place than the health inspector was. Reviews that raise the staff average just 2.3 stars — this is where the complaints concentrate. After that, how long an order takes appears most often — 29% of the corpus, averaging 2.3.
7 of 14 rated reviews are four stars or higher; 7 are two or lower. What nobody raises here is tidiness — it goes unmentioned across all 14 reviews. More reviewers landed on 1 star than any other score — 5 of 14. The corpus runs from Nov 2025 through Jun 2026 — not a single moment in time.
On the inspection side the picture is cleaner: DBPR graded this kitchen an A (97/100), with 3 basic violations. Whatever the reviews argue about, sanitation is not the weak point. That result dates from May 8, 2026. The trend across inspections is improvement. Ranked against Orange County, it is safer than 72% of the restaurants we score. What the inspector actually wrote up: insects/rodents/pests and floors, walls, ceilings clean & maintained.
Worth separating: the complaints above cluster on how guests are treated, not on the kitchen, which inspected well. The underlying reviews are reproduced in full underneath.

I love the food at checkers I always did, even when they first came out in Miami I still love the food then and I still love their food now.

Honestly I'm not from this state and have been to quite a few checkers in life. This checkers for the lack of better words is not a very satisfying establishment. Ridiculous wait times ,foods not always fresh and prices are extremely high. The windows to be served from and the eating area are to cramp and you get harassed at times by random people, more then a few of the employees have not the most professional attitude. Wouldn't recommend unless u have limited options on a late night.

⸻ “We are long-time customers of this location, which is less than a mile from our home, and have supported this store for over 25 years. My brother was even employed by the company for several years. Because of this long history, it is extremely disappointing and unacceptable that this is the first time we have experienced such unprofessional behavior. During this visit, I was yelled at over the speaker and told to leave. After that, we proceeded to the drive-thru window and waited over 15 minutes without being attended to. When someone finally came to the window, it was the same person who had yelled at me earlier (the manager), a woman wearing a gray shirt with green hair. She yelled at us again through the window and then abruptly closed it. When my wife went to the front to speak with staff, she was told that the manager had no name. She also spoke with two young employees who said nothing and were simply laughing during the situation. At the same time, another customer was denied service because of their appearance, even though they showed they had money to pay for their order. The level of disrespect, poor service, and discrimination we experienced was completely unacceptable. This occurred at approximately 11:50 PM on April 17, 2026, at Checkers, 6371 West Colonial Drive.”
