Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
If these 21 reviews agree on a topic, it is front-of-house. Where the staff comes up, the rating that follows averages 4.5, so it reads as a strength. Freshness follows at 24% of reviews, where ratings average 3.8.
15 of 21 rated reviews are four stars or higher; 3 are two or lower. Pacing shows up in 19% of reviews as well, averaging 3.3. More reviewers landed on 5 stars than any other score — 11 of 21.
On the inspection side the picture is cleaner: DBPR graded this kitchen an A (94/100), with 6 basic violations. Whatever the reviews argue about, sanitation is not the weak point. That result dates from February 18, 2026. Its inspection trajectory is upward over the records we hold. That puts it ahead of 56% of graded kitchens in Orange County. What the inspector actually wrote up: storage & handling of clean equipment and utensils and plumbing installed & maintained.
Both measures agree, which is the least complicated version of this page. The underlying reviews are reproduced in full underneath.

The food is always amazing and keeps us coming back. But the service has been suffering lately. We have to ask for the same thing repeatedly, and the wait for tables with many open tables available is frustrating. The day we were there their A/C wasn't working and they had portable units blowing cold air in. They were doing their best but it wasn't sufficient. It was quite hot and I felt bad for all the workers running around in that heat. Food though, worth it every time. Give the grilled catfish a chance. You won't regret it.

Rick was great

So the portions were more than enough. To much to eat at one time. I have two big grown sons and we all took to go boxes. Food is reasonable priced. Veterans discount. While most of the food was great, chicken and dumplings, and fried chicken. The sides were less desirable. You would think mac and cheese would be good, not! Some of the others just okay. Corn bread and biscuits worse ever, dry and tasteless. The place itself was nice until I looked up at the lights and it looked like it had layers upon layers of dust/dirt. I didn’t tell my family because they would have wanted to leave. Maybe that's why I couldn't eat all my food. How hard is it to dust regularly.

Great food and great service
-
It's only a temporary thing, but try the grilled meals in the foil!! Yummy!
-
Awesome fish fry, large portions, was sooo good. Server was very polite and efficient, my comfort zone!
-
Love breakfast choices.

I called ahead as I have a weird allergy and the night shift manager Paul helped me find what I can eat tomorrow. I know my allergy is a pain (silicon dioxide) it's an anti caking agent found in spices. So I really appreciate that he was super knowledgeable about the menu and was willing to help me find something so I don't get sick tomorrow. Most restaurants won't do this for me so this is a big deal.

Tried Uncle Herschel's Favorite Breakfast with the yummy Fried Cinnamon Apples and Grits. Choose the Tender Dippers with the Tennessee sauce which was spicy and hot.

I don’t care for this restaurant as much as I used to.

So atmosphere woke, bring back the good old stuff! Portion smaller and crispy chicken was not crispy! Disappointed

We were told it would be an hour and a half wait time for a table. So we went to a different restaurant.

Busy on FDay but made it in reasonable amount of time. Service was great

My wife got chicken and dumplings, They came out watery. I asked for a medium rare Burger, I got a well done burger. Some lady was getting all pissed off at somebody else and was yelling and cursing off in the distance inside the store. Our server Nayleen was wonderful, service was great. To bad the food wasn't.

I was there to spend some time waiting to go to the airport to do a drive through pick up. I only purchased some earrings & sat for a while with a soda. The staff was friendly & accommodating. Store was clean & well displayed.
