What diners say — our read

If these 19 reviews agree on a topic, it is the staff. Front-of-house tends to be raised approvingly here, averaging 4.4 stars. Freshness and temperature is the next most common subject, in 21% of reviews (averaging 4.0).

Speed of service shows up in 16% of reviews as well, averaging 3.0. Of the 19 rated reviews, 17 sit at four stars or better and 1 at two or below. The single most common rating left here is 5 stars (15 of 19).

The health record runs ahead of the reviews. The last DBPR inspection returned an A (99/100) with 1 basic violations. The visit behind that grade was January 6, 2026. Ranked against Orange County, it is safer than 87% of the restaurants we score. For specifics, the last inspection cited clean clothes.

With both signals pointing the same way, there is little to argue about on this listing. The reviews themselves follow, unedited and newest first.

The service here is great — staff are highly efficient. A cup of coffee is poured almost as soon as you sit down, and the food comes out quickly without ever feeling rushed. The coffee could be a touch stronger, but that’s more a personal preference since I’m used to a bolder brew. As for the food, the Million Dollar Bacon breakfast sandwich and the Summer Chipotle Steak Bowl were my favorites — both packed with flavor and very filling. One standout detail: the payment process. You can scan your receipt and pay directly from your phone, which frees up staff to keep focusing on other active tables. It’s a genius idea that keeps the whole experience running smoothly. The location was perfect for us too, since we were staying at the Home2 Suites right across the street. Highly recommend!

My fiance, parents, and myself have enjoyed coming to First Watch for the past 2 years since I've discovered it. The ingredients are high quality and it's a more elevated breakfast experience for reasonable prices. Do not be turned away by the "multigrain" label, the pancakes are phenomenal and *massive*. One is usually enough to fill me up. I highly recommend ordering at least one thing from their seasonal menus before they swap them out. Most of the vegetarian options lean toward the sweet end and while tasty, sometimes that's too much sugar for me in the morning. Thankfully I've recently discovered that I can request for the meat to be substituted for other items. I usually substitute with black beans. I do NOT recommend doing this with the power breakfast bowl because I later learned from their website that the quinoa is cooked in chicken stock. That meal ended up being kinda bland anyway even when I added hot sauce. Also the quinoa in my opinion would be better if baked in the oven after boiling so there is more texture variety. My recommended dishes that I've had so far include: - chocolate chip OR lemon ricotta pancakes - avocado toast - AM super foods bowl - Barbacoa Chilaquiles Breakfast Bowl (swap beef with extra beans) - purple haze drink - mint mocha iced coffee drink My one critique is the first time I ate at First Watch I ordered a lavender french toast from one of their past seasonal menus and I have yet to see it again despite being almost two years. That was…

Absolutely delish! Food was so fresh and tasty. Portion sizes large. Service was attentive and friendly. I’ve been coming here for a number of years and this visit topped them all.

Wait staff was very courteous and food came out fast. Avoid the honey caramel coffee, it tasted so artificially sweet that I couldn't even taste the honey. I got a breakfast burrito and the bread was soaked through with oil, and you could hardly taste the cheese, meat, or egg because the giant mushroom pieces taking up most of the interior were so overpowering. I always clean my plate because I hate wasting food but I could barely finish half of my breakfast here. Not recommended.

Had a great couple of breakfasts at First Watch while staying nearby for a few days. The food was absolutely delicious, and everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The restaurant was very clean and well-maintained, which made for a comfortable dining experience. What really stood out was the staff: everyone was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful from the moment we walked in. A special shout-out to Dreamy Hair Guy, who kept us laughing with his great sense of humor and positive energy. Also, he really needs to share his haircare routine with the rest of us, because his hair looked fantastic and the public deserves to know his secrets! Excellent food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back next time we are in town.

MANAGEMENT REVIEW - Amy - as a customer ordering at the counter I observed such disrespect. Loud enough for multiple people to hear “there’s 4 of you and you can’t get the door?!” Proceeding to get the door for customers coming in. I’m all for feedback or coaching staff but in an appropriate tone and respectful way to ask, they’re not there to treat them like that or speak to them in that way. I personally was greeted, taken care of the second I walked in before the door even shut. Everyone was friendly and professional. When she spoke, it made me feel I was in trouble and had to open the door. It wasn’t just that, afterwards she had another staff get steaming hot water in a metal tin and scrub behind host stand, floors, lobby, and restaurant. First it’s dangerous to have that hot water scrubbing lobby area and can be slippery. The same person cleaning was seating tables, greeting, and cleaning. Customers that came next even said “wow you’re doing it all!” Scrubbing floors, base of walls, grooves, and legs of furniture should be done after hours or by a cleaning company. I took time to observe staff while waiting for to go food for about 20 minutes. They were working hard, greeting, looking around the place, cashing out, and keeping customers happy. Maybe this was a one off or a tough day. Management may benefit from feedback from her own teammates and some support on talking to her team. Praising the things the team does well can go a long way and asking for what you need…
