Consensus here is lukewarm rather than hostile. Where freshness comes up, the rating that follows averages 4.0, so it reads as a strength. The staff is the next most common subject, in 24% of reviews (averaging 3.0).
The split is 10 positive to 7 negative across 21 rated reviews, with 4 in the middle. 5 stars is the modal score, given by 7 of the 21 reviewers who rated. Conspicuously absent: price, which no reviewer brings up.
The kitchen graded a B (84/100) on 1 high-priority, 2 intermediate, and 2 basic violations at its last inspection, which is roughly where the reviews sit too. That inspection was on February 24, 2026. Across its inspection history the kitchen is declining, which argues for reading the older reviews with caution. On health score it sits safer than 28% of the Orange County restaurants we grade. Among the items recorded were cross-contamination and insects/rodents/pests.
The weak part of this listing is the experience, not the sanitation — those are different failures. The individual reviews are below, newest first, if you want the raw material.

I googled this place and saw that they have very good reviews so I decided to try it..I bought one of their cakes it looks very pretty and also tastes real good the only thing I didn’t like was that the cake was too dry..the customer service is good too the lady that helped us was very kind..

Se debe tener cuidado al pagar, te dicen un precio y cuando pagas te cobran más por el producto y además con mala actitud.
-
Agradable el sitio pero demorados en atender, le falta algo para que sea confortable y guste sentarse a comer algo.
-
Great cakes and bakery items for takeout but it’s indoor seating area is cramped and tucked away in a corner with no windows. Not a place to meet friends to sit indoors for a coffee n cake.

It took over 25 min for a Cuban sandwich. The chocolate and caramel cake was stale and dry. Great pan de bono. The seating area is weird and very unwelcoming with windows covered with stickers. Do better fortuna. Mecatos is now my new favorite.

Os dulces viejos, falta de manager

I am so disappointed. I have been going to this bakery since I was a young girl. When they first had their location on just the other side of the current bakery. Their arepa de chocolo was my favorite food in the world. I moved away from Orlando and this is my first time visiting in almost two years and they have changed the recipe. The cheese is different and the arepa isn’t as sweet. So sad to see they have changed the quality

Precios altos , calidad baja , cuando la calidad es buena el precio pasa a segundo plano ( dulces viejos )

I had the WORST experience at this location fortuna bakery. The lady who helped us her name was Luisa. She had an attitude face the entire time taking our order. My mom felt rushed to place her order so she forgot to mention that she can’t have caffeine. We asked politely if we can change the coffee for decaf and she told me “you didn’t tell me decaf. i can make you the decaf drink but you need to pay for the new coffee’s”. I am a barista and work in an establishment where people mistake their order plenty of times but we will never make someone pay for the new drink. We asked another lady and they said the same thing. My mom didn’t want to cause a problem so we left and she was upset. I went in again to speak to a manager and get the employee’s name and the manager had the drinks be remade decaf only after I complained about the service. I do not recommend this place at all.

La Fortuna Bakery in Hunters Creek offers a great variety of traditional bakery items including buñuelos, pandebonos, empanadas, chicharrón, and many other Colombian favorites. The selection is impressive, and the cakes are visually appealing and beautifully displayed. However, customer service could be improved. While the place stays busy, the staff interaction often feels rushed and lacks warmth or welcoming communication. A simple smile and more attentive customer service would greatly enhance the overall experience. Additionally, although the cakes look fresh and attractive, some may not always be at their best quality, especially those with fruit fillings, which can taste less fresh inside. Overall, it is a good spot for authentic bakery products and snacks, but better customer engagement and more consistent freshness control would make the experience much better.
