Community Rating
Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
The newer reviews here read better than the older ones — 3.9 against 2.3. Opinion on service is split — those reviews land at 3.4 on average. After that, whether food comes out hot appears most often — 30% of the corpus, averaging 1.9.
If you had to pick one number to represent this corpus it would be 5, the most frequently given rating (10 reviews). A third strand, plate size, appears in 17% of them at 3.5 stars. Of the 23 rated reviews, 13 sit at four stars or better and 7 at two or below.
The health record runs ahead of the reviews. The last DBPR inspection returned an A (97/100) with 1 intermediate violations. DBPR last walked in on February 3, 2026. Its inspection trajectory is upward over the records we hold. That puts it ahead of 72% of graded kitchens in Orange County. The citations behind that grade include chemicals / toxic substances properly stored & used.
This is a listing where the two measures each tell half the story. The individual reviews are below, newest first, if you want the raw material.

Smallest and overly salty ackee and salt fish Cost me 13 dollars when it’s in a side container. Oh and the prices showing on the menu are not correct and the lady casually said it after I ordered. Smh

Food is always delicious! Try the cow foot stew or cow foot rice and peas on Thursday or try the Large Oxtail or Curry Goat every day. Pride of Jamaica Best food in East Orlando 🇯🇲🙏🏻
-
Worst beef patties I've ever had. Meat was dried to a black hard texture and the outside of the patties were way to hard with no crisp capable of breaking a tooth. Ended up dumping my entire lunch. I Will not be back ever again.

Great spot for good food and good beverage! Staff is lovely. Nothing better than a beautiful smile while seeing your delicious meal get prepared for you to eat and that’s what they do! Love this food chain. Highly recommend.

I had the jerk chicken pasta and my fiance had the ox tails our food was really good. The cashier was nice as well.

Ever since they started excluding plantain from their meals, I have never received plantain. I always pay for an order of plantain on the side and they never put it in the bag. This is the third time in a row I have placed a large order and they’ve taken the money and kept the plantain. It almost feels intentional at this point. Annoying.

I like the spices used in their food.

Great restaurant to go

Food is not good at all!!! Rice was dry and seemed old, cabbage was over cooked, dumplings was over cooked and even the Jamaican patty was nasty. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because I had them once before and it wasn’t good. This just confirms it for me. I want be going back ever again 🤮

Them oxtails and gravy! Lawd ham mercy. Dat maccaroni and cheese wit oxtail gravy over it. Mannnn.... This is a small restaurant that packs large flavor and a bold taste in its foods. You get plenty of food for a small amount. How reasonable the cost is was a gr8 deal maker. Come in place your order and go devour your plate. You can call in also. Depending on the day. Calling in may be your best option. There's a table or 2 and a booth for you to sit and wait. You can shop a few Caribbean items for sale as you wait. Check out all of the gr8 artwork and decor throughout this establishment. The menu is very subtle. Filled with so much soul with a Caribbean edge. This food was sooo darn good that I forgot to take pictures of all the plates we ordered.

Friendly staff, incredible food. Highly recommend

I tried this place for the first time and wasn’t impressed. I ordered the curry goat with rice and peas. The rice was cold, and while the goat was seasoned, it was a bit too salty and very fatty. As a yardie, that’s just not how I like my goat.
-
I ordered stew peas and oxtail here and it was one of the worst food that I have ever ordered I never knew that ketchup can go into stew peas if it's not ketchup it's got to be sugar the food was so sweet I will never go back to this Golden Krust even the rice and peas were sweet who do they have cooking these food and to think I pay so much money for something that is disappointing if I could give it zero Stars I would the food was not good at all

3/18/2026 update Golden Krust still high on our list of favorite places for food, especially beef patties Earlier post below. This is one of our, my wife and I, favorite spots for Jamaican 🇯🇲 food. For the best oxtail, here is the place. They load the container so you have enough and leftovers. Staff are courteous. We approach with courtesy and receive the same. Beef patties is another favorite. Ordered the day before, in person, and picked up patties, the following day and time for the Christmas party 12/2023 for my tour of duty maintenance department and had rave reviews from my coworkers. The spicy were gone in a flash. It's tasty 😋 food for on the go, brown paper bag style. By the way, my reviews will be low for any who do not remedy their mishaps. High reviews for any who mend their errors appropriately. Here had no bad events.

Staff was friendly and the restaurant clean. The music was solid. The food was not good at all. The rice in rice and peas was severely undercooked and not edible. The brown stew chicken was old and dried out and the cabbage had a weird flavor. The plantains were cold and old tasting. As much as I wanted to like the food, I will not return.

Every time I visit this Golden Krust location I always regret it. I ordered a small oxtail with rice and peas and cabbage and also a small jerk chicken with the same sides. Our food is barely edible. They fill your plate with rice but the rice is HARD and the oxtail was not tender. I thought if I went mid afternoon the food would be better. What a waste of $40.

After a long four-hour flight, I stopped to purchase Jamaican food for myself and my children. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. I ordered curry goat with white rice; however, the rice was undercooked. I also ordered fried chicken with white rice, and both the chicken and rice were dry. Additionally, the beef patty was served cold, and the sugar bun was dry. Due to the poor quality of the sugar bun, I asked if it could be exchanged for a beef patty. I was informed by the staff member that they do not offer refunds or exchanges. This policy was especially frustrating given the quality issues with the food. To make matters worse, I found a piece of plastic in the curry goat. Overall, this experience was unacceptable, particularly after traveling for so many hours, and it raises serious concerns about food quality and safety.

The food tastes good with authentic seasoning. There is a variety of food items available from soups, meals, patties, drinks, bun.
-
The cashier was rude and the patties were stale.

My family & I went there today the PATTIES were super cold I wasted all my money, I should’ve asked for a REFUND, but because of the anger & unhappiness of when I took the first taste, I walked out & left, they need to do better , if you are providing a service to the public I would think as a paying customer I deserve to get my monies worth, I had to hop into my car & go to Juici Patties on “East Colonial Drive” that’s where I was able to get some Fresh, Juici, Nice , Hot PATTIES , to eat & finally a Smile came back to my Face.
