On paper the kitchen passes; in the reviews, a few visitors were not convinced. Reviewers who mention how guests are treated rate this place 4.4 on average — it is working in the restaurant’s favour. The state of the room follows at 39% of reviews, where ratings average 3.0.
The split is 14 positive to 3 negative across 18 rated reviews, with 1 in the middle. A third strand, wait times, appears in 17% of them at 1.0 stars. 5 stars is the modal score, given by 13 of the 18 reviewers who rated.
On the inspection side the picture is cleaner: DBPR graded this kitchen an A (97/100), with 3 basic violations. Whatever the reviews argue about, sanitation is not the weak point. That inspection was on January 20, 2026. The trend across inspections is improvement. On health score it sits safer than 72% of the Orange County restaurants we grade. Among the items recorded were nonfood-contact surfaces clean and single-service and single-use items.
With both signals pointing the same way, there is little to argue about on this listing. The individual reviews are below, newest first, if you want the raw material.

I had a very good experience here with me and my family! Alot of nice staff! 10/10
-
Emily was such a sweet person. We had a wonderful conversation and she even sang happy birthday for my family member. She made all of our days.

Excelente especialmente Emilly nos trató con mucho cariño

Location was great, across the street from Universal. Lots of things to do and places to go. Everything is within driving distance so I did rent a car to get around. Epic universal is an additional 10 mins drive - fyi.

Our room was dirty upon arrival. Crumbs on the floor. Dirty socks in the sofa. Worst of all, our bathroom was not functional. When we requested maintenance, took over 3 hours or more. My kids fell asleep and I can't even leave to use the restroom in the lobby. I hope they come before mid night in the event I need to use the restroom in the middle of the night.

Muy bonito el lugar , emily y george un amor de personas , atienden super bien , y muy amables , el servicio 10/10 , me encantó

The room was very nice and the breakfast is delicious. It is right across the street from Universal. However, parking is $25 per day (from noon) and the shuttle return cannot be reserved and only runs once an hour. So overall it cuts into the value.

This hotel is perfect! The location is directly across the street from Universal and the pedestrian walkway to the park. There rooms and common areas were so clean and immaculate. We loved the close proximity of restaurants and shopping. Service and quality was great at the on-site restaurant and bar but it does not open until after 3pm. The pool always had open chairs for lounging and recieved perfect sun while blocking the wind. We would definitely stay here again!

Until now I thought that all Hyatt’s were the same but. Unfortunately not Houston, San Antonio, Dallas were all good with great treatment for Hyatt members. This one is the last on the list. The first room the couch didn’t pull out and we had no tub only a shower but our reservation has kids with ages. Then the second room the shower leaked the entire time you took a bath. Then the mini fridge smell like trash we tried to clean it out but gave up. THEN! They ran out of towels on our 3rd or 4th day so we had to take baths with hand towels. The front desk was so disorganized never greeted us and when I ask from restroom essentials she looked at me like how dare you. Overall …. Oh the pool finally got fix on our last day there. Overall very disappointed even the breakfast couldn’t smooth me out

Staff was great. The hotel was in great shape, the rooms were great. I will stay here again next time I am in the area of Universal. If you dont want to stay on property, this is the hotel to choose.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I have stayed at Hyatt House across from Universal twice in the last two weeks, and both stays have been absolutely outstanding. From the moment I arrived, the entire staff has been welcoming, professional, and attentive. The rooms have been exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making each stay relaxing and enjoyable. I would like to give a special shout-out to Drew at the front desk. In an industry where great customer service can make all the difference, Drew truly sets the standard. He has been incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional every time I’ve interacted with him. Whether answering questions, offering assistance, or simply greeting guests with a smile, he consistently goes above and beyond to make everyone feel valued and welcome. Employees like Drew are a major reason why guests choose to return, and he deserves recognition for the outstanding job he does. Thank you to Drew and the entire Hyatt House team for providing such a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Universal area, and I look forward to staying here again on future trips.

I would not recommend this hotel or stay there again. ||||The room wasn’t ready when we got here which was completely fine because check-in is at 3pm and we got in a little after 2:30pm. The man at the front desk seemed like he was irritated and acted like he had better things to do than to help me and wait for me to find my ID. We waited for the text to say our room is ready until after 3:30. My nephew went to check on the room close to 4pm and the man said the room was clean, but they were inspecting it. Later on he finally came down and gave us our key. That time he was fairly pleasant, but he didn’t tell us any of the check-in information like breakfast, how to schedule the bus, or anything. I had to ask about the bus and my nephew asked about the breakfast. I also saw some people getting little bags with waters in it and we didn’t get one so I don’t know if that is for people of higher status or if the whole welcome process fell short with us. ||||There was a whole misunderstanding with the universal tickets which was frustrating. I recommend getting your tickets online and not at the desk where you scheduled the shuttle. That way you can see exactly what you want and purchase those tickets. I ended up getting a refund, which was quick, and just booked the ticket online so I can get the exact ticket I want. ||||The bathroom door did not lock and the showerhead was rusty. I didn’t notice until I went to go shower so I went downstairs to tell them said they’ll take care…

Everything was up to stardard except the pool being out of order but the service is exceptional. Specifically Emily she was wonderful and lovely to talk to. Very few people are as easy to talk to like her and she had a way of making everyone around her feel welcome and seen. She even went out of her way to get some treats for the Kids birthdays at the table next to me. Very few people take the time to be personable.

Emily was super helpful during breakfast. My kids were sad about the pool being repaired but this morning we met emily and she had my kids laughing and forgetting all about it. We mentioned We were celebrating my daughters birthday and she went above and beyond to bring her a wonderful slice of cheesecake with a beautiful blue candle. "Emily from Colombia " a woman to never forget and a reason to come back to this hotel!

Emilly was an amazing help as part of the hotel team. She even gave us some touristic tips. Loved the hotel!

Wonderful Stay at the Hyatt House |My stay at the Hyatt House exceeded expectations in every way. The property is clean, modern, and well‑maintained, but what truly made the experience memorable was the staff.||I want to highlight Connor, the bartender, who provided exceptional service throughout my stay. He’s personable, attentive, and brings a welcoming energy to the bar area.||The restaurant food was excellent — far better than typical hotel dining. Every meal was well‑prepared, flavorful, and served hot.||The pool is of a good size and well-equipped with seats. It also has a window to reach the bar. No need to go inside.||Overall, the Hyatt House delivered comfort, quality, and standout hospitality. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

This hotel was very clean and spacious. It also had a beautiful view of the city lights. The free breakfast was mediocre but you’re welcome to Uber Eats if you like. The concierge was very nice and friendly and answered all my questions needed.
