Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
An average is a poor summary when the underlying reviews look like this. Reviewers who mention front-of-house rate this place 4.1 on average — it is working in the restaurant’s favour. After that, freshness and temperature appears most often — 23% of the corpus, averaging 3.8.
Of the 22 rated reviews, 19 sit at four stars or better and 2 at two or below. No one in this corpus comments on the state of the room at all. The single most common rating left here is 5 stars (19 of 22).
On the health side, the most recent DBPR inspection returned a C (75/100) with 2 high-priority, 2 intermediate, and 3 basic violations — middling, much like the reviews. The visit behind that grade was February 6, 2026. The trend across inspections is decline. Ranked against Orange County, it is safer than 12% of the restaurants we score. For specifics, the last inspection cited employee health knowledge.

Mark’s Jamaican Bar & Grill is the BEST restaurant ever! I’ve had their brown stew fish and curry shrimp with rice and peas, cabbage and sweet plantains. The food is always fresh and delicious! The service is amazing!!! I’d highly recommend!

Very good food
-
Great food and large portions!
-
I have three stars because the lady on the phone was nice! Chicken was pretty dry, no bread and no jerk sauce was with the order. I ordered on Uber
-
The food is delicious! Would definitely recommend the oxtail and rice and peas. First time trying today and it was absolutely amazing
-
The food was 10/10 Down to the bone good. Enjoyed everything.

Mark’s Jamaican hit the spot. I had the oxtails and jerk chicken with rice and peas, plus a couple Red Stripes, and everything was packed with flavor. The oxtails were tender and rich, the jerk chicken had that good smoky spice, and the rice and peas pulled the whole plate together perfectly. Great portions, good Caribbean flavor, and exactly the kind of meal you want when you’re craving real comfort food. Definitely coming back.

Food was fast and hot and damn near the best chicken I've ever had. Great spot

I’m not typically someone who leaves reviews, but after my experience here, I felt compelled to share. From the moment I walked in, I was disappointed by the customer service. The receptionist (an older, fair-skinned Black woman with glasses) did not greet me at all. I approached the counter while she was assisting a Caucasian male customer, and I observed her being warm, friendly, smiling, and engaging with him as he finished his meal. However, when it was my turn, her demeanor completely changed. She did not smile, did not say hello or welcome, and her tone felt very cold and dismissive. When I asked questions about the menu—specifically about the Rasta pasta and whether I could purchase a single crab cluster—she seemed visibly annoyed, as if my questions were an inconvenience. I arrived around 12:30 PM but didn’t receive my food until 1:09 PM, which is over a 40-minute wait for a pasta dish. Unfortunately, the food itself was also disappointing. While it was well-seasoned, the pasta was extremely overcooked—the noodles were very soft, and the vegetables were also overdone. When I went back to the counter to express my concerns and ask about alternatives, her response was simply, “What do you want to do?” with no effort to offer solutions or assist me. I explained that I only had about 15 minutes before I had to return to class and asked if there was anything readily available. I ended up ordering oxtails with cabbage and peas and rice, which I would rate about a 7/10.…

Best Jamaican food I have ever tasted in my life! Mark’s hosted a party for us, and the stew beef and curry chicken or the best I’ve ever had! Wonderful service and all the food was off the charts! I highly recommend Mark’s for great service and Jamaican cuisine that I’ll knock your socks off!

This was my first experience with Mark’s Jamaican bar and grill. I found it on google and decided to try because of the reviews. Let me tell you, I was so happy that I did! First they’re very easy to find and have plenty of parking! Walking into the restaurant, the aesthetic makes me feel like I’m visiting Jamaica! The owner and staff are very warm and welcoming with the best customer service that I have ever had! But most importantly, the food was AMAZING! The flavors were on point. The only jamaican food that can rival this one, is some I have had in Jamaica! I wish I could order delivery to CT. Anytime I go back to Florida, I will DEFINITELY be going back to Mark’s Jamaican Bar And Grill!

One of the best Jamaican restaurant last I have eaten at in my 30 years in the US

This is not to be missed if you enjoy Jamaican food. I got my Florida driver's license a couple of weeks ago and decided to celebrate. So I chose to try Mark's Jamaican Bar & Grill. Since I couldn't eat meat, I had oxtail gravy over peas & rice, cabbage and fried plantains. It was delish!!! I enjoyed my leftovers the next couple of days for sure. Summary: Food - 5, Service - 5+, Ambiance (homey) - 5. The owner Mark, does the cooking and is a very gracious host. Zaire was our very sweet server.

The first time I went to Marks Jamician Restaurant Grill and Bar the food was great. I then introduced my sister, again the meal was great, we had the curry goat and oxtail so delicious. Today my sister, her husband and I went again, we had the jerk chicken as an appetizer and curry goat/oxtail as our main dish. They food was so amazing as usual. Washed down by their famous red stripe beer and ginger beer. You are one in a million Mark.
