What diners say — our read

An average is a poor summary when the underlying reviews look like this. The staff is the sore point: those reviews average 2.7. Freshness follows at 32% of reviews, where ratings average 3.1.

More reviewers landed on 5 stars than any other score — 12 of 25. Pacing shows up in 28% of reviews as well, averaging 2.7. 14 of 25 rated reviews are four stars or higher; 7 are two or lower.

That matters because 12% of reviews raise cleanliness and rate it 2.7 on average — a complaint the inspection record does not support, since DBPR graded the kitchen an A (90/100). That result dates from March 4, 2026. The trend across inspections is decline. Ranked against Orange County, it is safer than 42% of the restaurants we score. What the inspector actually wrote up: cross-contamination and handwashing.

Neither signal is decisive on its own here, which is why both are shown. The underlying reviews are reproduced in full underneath.

We’ve been here several times, but unfortunately our last two visits have been very disappointing. The previous time, we ordered the fried fish tacos to go. By the time we got home, they weren’t even tacos anymore—the shells had become completely stuck to the wrapping paper and melted . 😖 Last night we arrived around 8:30 p.m. for a restaurant that closes at 9:00 p.m., and it honestly felt like our being there wasn’t welcomed. If the kitchen stops serving earlier, it would be better to adjust the posted hours rather than make guests feel like they’re inconveniencing the staff. We ordered the fried tacos, musubi, spicy tuna nachos, an açaí bowl, and a katsu bowl. Every dish looked half-filled, especially compared to previous visits. With tip, our total came to $96, and the portions and overall quality simply didn’t justify the price. It honestly felt like a $40 meal. It’s disappointing because we’ve enjoyed this place in the past. We were undecided last night whether mills market or here… decided on here , poor choice. Side note-I took a friend a few months , she noticed all the dust in the fans. Maybe restaurant needs a deep cleaning.

    Best poke bowl

  • May 18, 2026

We visited on Sunday for lunch. We entered through the back door which is a bad idea because you’re greeted with storage and supplies. The back door is not as welcoming as the other businesses in the building. The man who took our order was not welcoming and definitely didn’t want to be there. The man at the register was more friendly. The space was dirty. Food and dust on the floor. The chairs need a good cleaning. It was just very grimey. The food was fine (we ordered a bowl and nachos) but the other factors outweighed the experience and money spent. There are other and better options in the area.

i usually dont care to write bad reviews but i was asked twice what protein i wanted in my bowl just to come home to 2 pieces of tuna. lol service was not good and the mango pieces are inedible.

I hope the owners read my review. I’ve been eating in Poke Hana for at least 10 years. The food is consistently fresh and delicious. The service too has been great except for today. The vibe was gloomy and indifferent. None of the employees smiled or said hello of mahalo like they used to many moons ago. It felt like we were attending a funeral. I’m naturally a cheerful and very polite person and honestly, I’d like to be treated better. Of the three employees, none reflected what Poke Hana is about. With the economy as it is, and so many options to eat out, I’m sure other patrons perceived the same level of apathy. As a business owner myself, I’d be horrified to learn that this attitude might dissuade my loyal customers from coming back.

Their bowls are really tasty, fresh, colorful and budget friendly. I also like the fact that they use a paper container instead of plastic. I usually get take out, however I dined in with a friend last weekend and couldn’t help but notice that the dining room needs a very deep cleaning and decluttering! Lots of dust and grease everywhere, and the back door that leads to the parking lot is beyond dirty. Not a pleasant experience at all.

The food is great, but the service is disorganized and feels hostile. The staff had a noticeable attitude, which really took away from the experience. Honestly, it’s much better to order delivery.

The holy trinity of Healthy, Delicious, and Affordable. Cheaper than eating at Wendy’s and super easy on the digestive system. Huge Props.

do nottt eat here!!! i’ve been getting this place for about a year with no issues but last time i went i got the garlic chicken with rice and mac salad and immediately felt sick to my stomach. I was unable to hold anything down for two weeks directly after eating their food and when i went to the doctor i was told i had three bacteria’s caused by food poisoning and cross contamination. i had to get antibiotics just to get my stomach back to normal. not worth getting sick. i have since talked to two other people who got extremely sick after eating here as well. owners definitely need to look into food safety measures and make sure the employees are holding to them properly especially when serving raw fish. i do not eat any raw meat but still got a bacteria from cross contamination of raw fish. do not recommend

The portion of the food for the price is not good. Also they are charging $1.50 for “fresh avocado” and barely give you any and the avocado had spots like its ripening. The guy was hardly friendly at the register. I don’t think I’ll go back.

The staff here are so kind and friendly, especially Larissa. The quality and portions are great. Everything is so delicious!

  • April 11, 2026

The Spam Musubi was very delicious! Not pictured but we also tried the Hawaiian sun juices and Açaí bowl which tasted great but the Hawaiian sun juices were quite overpriced per can.

  • April 6, 2026

The Poke bowl was delicious, but I wish the Proportions were a bit larger. Maybe it's because I came during the last hour that they open, I came straight after work at the hospital during the night I'd love to give Poke Hana another chance because y'all been so good

  • April 5, 2026

Their poke bowl is so darn tasty, and the unlimited topping is simply perfect! Service is great too, so friendly! Hawaiian island’s ambiance ROCKS!!

  • April 5, 2026

This is closer to a real Hawaiian style restaurant than anywhere I've been to in California.

  • April 3, 2026

Tacos were absolutely delicious Really tasty food Poke was great as well.

  • March 24, 2026

This place is the BOMB!!!, The poke bowls that I requested where delicious, the rice taco is light yet delicious, there Kalua pork was also very good, it was like I was eating somewhere up in the Northshore in oahu. If you're from hawaii, this is definitely a place you should stop by and try atleast, I personally approve. Note if you're ordering Kalua pork, just eat it while its hot before it gets cold and have rice with it because thats the best way to eat it.🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙

Great lunch, but dinner was a letdown. The late-night fish wasn’t fresh.

  • March 8, 2026

Poor customer service and poor food.

  • March 7, 2026

Food: We ordered the fried garlic shrimp rice plate, spicy tuna musubi and spam musubi. They make the non-spam musubi fresh while keeping the spam musubi in a warmer so not sure how long ago it was made. The fried garlic shrimp has shell on so all the crispy and seasoning are on the shells. Once you take the shell off, there isn’t any seasoning, which makes the shrimp just plain shrimp. I won’t get it again. The spicy tuna musubi was made fresh and it was delicious. The Mac salad has some sauce but not a lot. Service: quick and easy. They are nice. We ordered to go so minimum interaction. Ambiance: cute indoor seating. Don’t go thru the back as there is a trash smell back there.

My friend and I were looking to dine at Poke Hana, we hadn’t seen each other in some time and were chatting outside of my car before walking in. There was a parking spot open next to us, and a small white kia had pulled up to park. We later found out this was an employee here. There was more than ample space for her to park but she waited there and didn’t, so to provide her even more space we moved even closer to my car, though there was always enough space for her. She still hesitated and then finally parked. She got out of the car and gave us both a dirty look, slammed her car door shut and then sighed excessively loud. We were rather perplexed, and my friend said “Is she alright?” The employee then proceeded to use intense profanity and yell at us over this parking spot. We were stunned, and no longer felt comfortable dining here anymore and decided to go next door to Mamak. This was completely unacceptable, there is was absolutely no reason for an employee to talk to anyone like this ever especially over something as fickle as a parking spot.

Good place to eat. Everything was fresh, good portions, and the service was fast. I would definitely come back.

My longest hyperfixation food… the Haole Style Poke with White rice. Nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. Vibes are also always very chill here.
