Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
One subject runs through these 22 reviews more than any other: the staff. Front-of-house tends to be raised approvingly here, averaging 4.9 stars. Cleanliness is the next most common subject, in 50% of reviews (averaging 4.8).
19 of 22 rated reviews are four stars or higher; 1 are two or lower. How much food arrives shows up in 32% of reviews as well, averaging 4.4. The single most common rating left here is 5 stars (16 of 22).
On the inspection side the picture is cleaner: DBPR graded this kitchen an A (100/100) with no violations cited. Whatever the reviews argue about, sanitation is not the weak point. The visit behind that grade was October 2, 2025. Ranked against Orange County, it is safer than 100% of the restaurants we score. No violations were recorded at that visit, which is the cleanest result available.
Both measures agree, which is the least complicated version of this page. The reviews themselves follow, unedited and newest first.

I am so happy we chose this hotel. The service was amazing when the room is the worst spacious and super clean. The food court/dining area has plenty of food options in the area is amazing Walgreens and every single Uber eats possible is close couple of minutes by. Shout out to the best Starbucks in the lobby and huge shout out to the bartender which is a super cool guy you have to stay in this place super affordable and awesome!!!’

Love staying at Dockside and Surfside! Great hotels! A shuttle every 15 mins to the parks, so perfect! The employees are very pleasant! The rooms are clean! And you can have pizza from their cafeteria/restaurant delivered room service! Top pick for me and my kids when we visit!

I had a great stay at this hotel. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, the staff were all friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout my visit. The price was also very affordable, making it excellent value for money. The text messaging service made checking out quick and easy, which was a really convenient feature. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others looking for a comfortable and budget-friendly place to stay.

This was an amazing hotel to stay at! We opted for the two bedroom set up which was spacious enough for a family of four. The full service restaurant/ cafe in the lobby had so many choices, truly something for everyone in the family. Staying at a Universal property gets you 1 hour early admission into the park. That allowed us to get on three rides with ease before the general admission crowds entered. Shuttle service from hotel to the parks was seamless and worth it! Got back late from a theme park and was so glad to have dinner at the hotel. City walk restaurants are great and all but it’s expensive after a few days in Orlando. Hotel food options were plentiful and reasonably priced, they even offered a special Steak dinner for Father’s Day which was amazing. 10/10 already booking our next trip there

We stayed here 6/24-6/28 for my daughters birthday universal trip. The stay here is so nice and pleasant! Upon arrival Nancy was the first person we interacted with and she was STELLAR! As a first timer to universal she answered all my questions, made my kiddo feel extra special and just made the arrival so smooth! She definitely set the expectation for what we’d receive from the staff. Everyone from the house hold cleaning to cooking staff to just literally everyone was so nice! The hotel food is good too and fairly priced. Would 10000/10 stay here again!

Took over an hour to check in, only one elevator is working and it takes forever. The food on the cafeteria tastes like they made it days ago. Our room is far from the lobby and again there is only one working elevator, I wish they would have vending machines on the room floors because we have a long way to just grab a bottle of water. I feel like for how much we are paying it's missing the mark.

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. But as soon as we checked in, I did have to ask twice for someone to come clean the floor in the room. Housekeeping would come in clean and replace towels but never the floors. But when I called, they had them cleaned right away.

Great rooms with plenty of space. We were traveling with a church teen group and they were comfortable at 4 to a room with three full/queen size beds, tiny kitchenette with small sink, microwave and dorm refrigerator. It was nice to have a table to sit at. Only thing missing was a hot tub. At the food court, a teen was told the refillable cup would work at the parks and it did not. The teens were on a tight budget so this was disappointing for him. At check-in, we were not told that we still needed to print tickets to enter the park. We assumed the room key was sufficient. There is a Starbucks on site but you can order ahead online. Gym was nice, too. Guest laundry on site.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re looking for the perfect blend of laid-back coastal charm and upscale comfort, look no further than Lowe’s Surf Side Hotel in Orlando. From the moment we pulled up, the vibrant beachside atmosphere and warm welcome from the staff set the tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable stay. The rooms are spacious, beautifully appointed, and spotlessly clean — with stunning views that make waking up an absolute pleasure. We stayed in an ocean-view suite and honestly had a hard time leaving the balcony each morning. The bedding was luxurious, the AC was perfectly maintained, and the attention to detail throughout the room showed real pride in the property. The pool area is a true highlight — well-maintained, never overcrowded, and surrounded by comfortable loungers with attentive poolside service. Whether you want a cocktail delivered to your chair or a quiet spot to read, it delivers on both fronts. Breakfast at the on-site restaurant was exceptional. Fresh ingredients, generous portions, and a staff that genuinely seemed happy to be there. We also enjoyed dinner one evening and were equally impressed — the seafood was fresh and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. What really sets Lowe’s Surf Side apart is the staff. Every single person we encountered — from the front desk to housekeeping to the restaurant team — was friendly, professional, and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Special shoutout to the concierge team who helped us arrange a…

Extremely clean, very open, and you can tell just how new the resort is. Amenities were on point point. The pool area is excellent. There are plenty of chairs, even if the pool seems a bit crowded. You never had to worry about "chair hogs". The bar area at the pool is very inviting, and the staff is very friendly. I did not partake in the pizza, but those that did said it was very good and surprisingly affordable. There is an open seating area around the grab-and-go food section. There were plenty of food options at breakfast and lunch. You're also a short walk away from a Waffle House. The room itself is very inviting, and the "beach vibe" is done very well without seeming cheesy. The bathrooms in the two-bedroom suites are very typical, with a combo tub and shower. I can see why they did this, as they should have plenty of kids staying in there. The one big surprise that I had was how quiet the resort is. In some of these, you can literally hear your neighbor's conversation. I never had to worry about that. It was a nice change. I would definitely stay here again, and look forward to bringing a large blended family here to enjoy while taking in all of the Universal parks.

Laundry rooms are tiny, with 3 dryers out of order. Too many rooms for so few machines.

Great clean airy spacious hotel surfside is the quieter of the 2 Relaxing seating area Lovely pool no issues getting a sunbed and never too busy Easy laundry area Comfy beds Great helpful housekeeping We asked for room on a higher floor as find it tends to be quieter We had no issues with noise you can hear kids in next room but wasn’t an issue for us didn’t spend much time in the room apart to sleep , Shuttles buses are great coming and going all the time . Easy short trip there or back . 10 /15 min walk to international drive for a variety of restaurants Chilli’s , Ci cis pizza all you can eat or itrolley bus stops outside . Walgreens opposite for anything you might need , we got milk and cereal to have breakfast in our room , bought plastic bowls and spoons from home . We also took snacks to the parks . If going to the universal parks they did seem to be quieter in the afternoons and evening . Epic had the longest wait times .

Awesome resort

Great place. Great food. Nice shuttle.
-
Resort is really nice with a Starbucks, cafe, bar, and gift shop on site. Shuttles are quick to and from Hotel and parks. Only thing I didn’t like was the size of the bathroom in the room. We had a 2 bed room and the bathroom was tiny, you’d literally have to be behind the door to open it inward to step out. With 2 small kids and having to assist during shower time the lack of space made it a little difficult
