Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
Consensus here is lukewarm rather than hostile. Opinion on freshness is split — those reviews land at 3.2 on average.
5 stars is the modal score, given by 9 of the 20 reviewers who rated. Price shows up in 15% of reviews as well, averaging 3.3. The split is 12 positive to 7 negative across 20 rated reviews, with 1 in the middle.
Against that, the kitchen inspects well — an A (100/100), nothing cited at the most recent DBPR visit. That inspection was on April 16, 2026. Ranked against Orange County, it is safer than 100% of the restaurants we score. Nothing was written up at that inspection at all.
The honest summary is that the evidence is mixed on both sides. Everything above is computed from the 20 reviews reproduced below.

One of the best buffet's I have visited. Food is delicious, there's plenty of options for all kinds of taste. Sushi bar was stocked and fresh. Highly recommend

Every time I stay near universal I eat here. My kids love it. One of the better quality Chinese buffets you will visit.

The food was ok , not as much variety as it used to be in the same restaurant. Surprisingly not too many people there as it used to be the case years ago . In general, I enjoyed the experience. Can not really complain for the price paid .

Good sushi!

They have sweet steamed buns

Run down and disgusting floors. The food was god awful. Everything is either overcooked, oversauced, oversalted, or cold. The sushi was scary. I didn’t even try it because it looked like it had been sitting out for a while. I was only able to eat one thing and that was wings.

Absolutely a deplorable experience. The food was NOT hot on the buffet stations (some selections were full, but cold), dessert selection island only had a couple of cake options (cake was dry), and the waitress forced me to pay her directly (cash) and asked me to pick the tip amount I wanted to leave. She gave me my change and then followed me back to the table for me to hand her the tip. Spoke with the “manager” and she was impersonal, not attentive, and mumbled she’d tell the owner. Even the limited ice cream options were cold (“Oh wait, that was the only good thing during our visit today!”). We will not be returning and we highly suggest to AVOID this expensive, limited, and sub-standard restaurant. Unreal. Unacceptable. Not worthy of $19.99 per person. Choose elsewhere. 😨😡😏

Restaurant mit guten Essen. Wir haben zu zweit Abends für ca. 40€ mit Trinkgeld gegessen. Getränke geht extra. Viel Auswahl, auch frisch gemachtes essen direkt vom Grill.

Ignore the 3.6 rating. This is a 5-star Japanese buffet. The food is unbelievably delicious. They have something for everybody. If you like seafood, they got a lot of it. If you like beef, they got that too. If you like soup, oh yea its good. The salad was fresh. The hibachi grill was amazing.

Estive no restaurante em maio de 2026, o restaurante é do tipo All You Can It, você paga um valor e come a vontade.

Ichiban Buffet was a great spot! I’ve been twice since moving to Orlando in march, and i will definitely be going back! Only reasons for not a full 5, is the “hibachi” lacks a LOT of flavor. It’s not bland, however you can taste each ingredient and that’s about it. They also cooked the egg pretty unusual for hibachi but that’s not an issue. The main buffet food is amazing, tastes amazing and doesn’t make me feel gross after. Only issue i encountered was the General Chicken was cold, but they replaced it right after i took some. Overall, a $42 bill for 2, with good food, many options, great sushi, and amazing art is well worth it. Thank you Ichiban!

2023: The food was edible but it was not a culinary experience I would recommend. Many food items either looked dry or mushy. General Tso chicken was a blobby overload of breading, the pepper shrimp was hard, and the fried rice was pale with what looked like canned veggies. The Lechonera Orlando has better fried rice than this place. I had to spit out food 3 times. The Mongolian beef was I guess the best on my plate. I didn't try the hibachi, the sushi, or dessert. The establishment was ok but not what I expect for a tourist heavy area of Orlando. 2026: decided to give it another chance. Three years and nothing has changed.

Don’t waste your time. The food is boring, there isn’t even any music in the restaurant, and the place looks very worn out.
-
Never again. Worse buffet I've ever been too. The food is terrible and they try to push you to give them a 20% tip for bringing you a cup of water.
-
I’m disappointed because the food wasn’t all that good but it’s a chill environment music wasn’t loud so you could actually have a conversation
-
I paid cash and the waitress literally told me I didn’t tip her enough even though she brought us water when we first got there and we never saw her again. She would not let me leave the table and was staring at me until I took my wallet back out. Not to mention the food was mediocre at best. Spend your money elsewhere

Not gonna lie came here after hitting the smoke shop next door, ya knew what you guys were doing 😂😂 food was good

I love Ichiban! From the food to the ambiance. The surroundings is also very clean. Wide variety of delectable foods. I go quite often. My kids love it too!

A pleasant establishment. The staff is friendly and polite, and the food selection is diverse—featuring everything from meat and seafood to vegetables, as well as a variety of sushi. The dessert options include puddings, sweet buns, occasional jelly, a couple of types of pastries, and ice cream. As for beverages, there are several varieties of soda available. After finishing your meal and paying, you can pick up a complimentary fortune cookie:)

Lo único que no me agradó es que no había terminado y me trajieron la cuenta sin pedirla
