Community Rating
Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
The 4.5-star average is misleading — almost nobody actually rated it that. Reviewers who mention front-of-house rate this place 4.5 on average — it is working in the restaurant’s favour. After that, freshness and temperature appears most often — 21% of the corpus, averaging 3.4.
A third strand, how much food arrives, appears in 17% of them at 4.5 stars. The single most common rating left here is 5 stars (20 of 24). The split is 21 positive to 2 negative across 24 rated reviews, with 1 in the middle.
The health record runs ahead of the reviews. The last DBPR inspection returned an A (97/100) with 1 intermediate violations. The visit behind that grade was March 25, 2026. On health score it sits safer than 79% of the Volusia County restaurants we grade.
Nothing here pulls in opposite directions — an unusually clean read. The reviews themselves follow, unedited and newest first.

Excellent pizza, wonderful pasta dishes.

You have to come here hungry! Everything is delicious.

FOOD = My first time here ...ordered the Wednesday PASTA & MEATBALLS (2 big boys) special $13.50. This included an impressive good sized salad which was very good... The lovely Italian soft bread & butter was really very good too. The spahgetti & meatballs smothered in gravy was: #1. A lot of food...took home 3/4 of it... #2. Meatballs were big, juicy and delicious... #3. The pasta was perfecto! #4. The gravy was classic...very good. SERVICE : Joy, our waitress, was THE BEST and cute too. She is so good with people...a great sport. I asked her to marry me and bring me home all the leftovers! ATMOSPHERE: Just OK...but not terrible...everyone was happy with their feasts...go for the food!

First time at Genovese and it was delicious. I was referred and it lived up to the expectations. The restaurant is nice and clean, it’s very family friendly also. The service was great and the pizza was hot and delicious. Don’t hesitate to stop in and give it a try you will not be disappointed.

I ordered an antipasto salad, and a calzone to go. Calzone was OK. When I opened the antipasto there was no meat and no cheese. I grew up in an Italian neighborhood in NY. I dont mind paying 13.50 for antipasto cuz I know I will receive italian cold cuts and cheese. NADA. Never order "To Go" from these guys you never know what you will receive.

The best pizza in town for decades. Thank you Genovese’s!

Excellent old style Italian

Really, really liked the food here. We had Italian Wedding Soup, Minestrone, Crab Alfredo, and Lasagna. All were great! Very reasonably priced as well. Music was at a good volume and was a good selection of artists. We'll be back whenever we come back into town.

Love them. Great pizza and cheese garlic bread.
-
This place has the best pizza and timely service. The pizza crust is just right, a little crispy just firm enough. The tomato sauce is delicious, cheese and toppings are plentiful. You can't go wrong with the calzone either!
-
Ordered large pepper and onion pizza and small cheese pizza. Ready in 30 minutes for pick up. Friendly staff, flavorful pizza!

1st time going here The food was amazing. The servers were amazing. It nice to see servers help eachothers tables. From seating, to drinks and to taking empty dishes. We will definitely visit again.
-
We ordered online. Were advised an hour wait. Arrived and were told 10 more minutes. Then were told 15 more minutes. Then were told 5 more minutes. That said, the food was good. Gluten-free crust is better than most. Regular pizza was good. Pasta was a large portion.
-
Great good and atmosphere! Small but Charming little Italian restaurant. Friendly, Clean and Great variety on menu. They do serve pizza by the slice as well.
-
This is the first restaurant we go to each year we come to Daytona. To me, they have the best spaghetti and Meatballs. This is the only place my wife likes Fettuccine Alfredo
-
The food wasn't really bad but the sauce tasted like it was fresh out of can. It tasted like it was warmed and plated. REVISED REVIEW: The server was nice. So, my review was not that bad but someone took it upon themselves to say that my review was not VALID because they "make their sauce every day. Seriouly? This shows who you are. The type of restaurant that would NEVER make it in NY or in any Italian realm! Do you like this review better because the first one was way better. You're no better than fast food! I feel a block coming on....
