The inspection record is the stronger half of this page. When service comes up here it is usually a criticism, and the ratings attached average 1.7. After that, pacing appears most often — 52% of the corpus, averaging 1.5.
One subject never comes up here: what it costs. Newer reviews score better than older ones (2.8 recent against 1.5 earlier), so direction is worth weighing alongside the average. If you had to pick one number to represent this corpus it would be 1, the most frequently given rating (18 reviews).
On the inspection side the picture is cleaner: DBPR graded this kitchen an A (90/100), with 10 basic violations. Whatever the reviews argue about, sanitation is not the weak point. DBPR last walked in on June 8, 2026. Ranked against Seminole County, it is safer than 47% of the restaurants we score. The citations behind that grade include cross-contamination and handwashing.
The weak part of this listing is the experience, not the sanitation — those are different failures. The individual reviews are below, newest first, if you want the raw material.

The drive through has been closed for a while. Is it back up and running again? In response, sure, it's the one located at 230 West Mitchell Hammock Road Oviedo, Florida 32765. I should also mention that the phone number listed for this location is never answered.

My favorite Popeyes to visit!!
-
Came by during lunch time and the place was completely abandoned Edit: It wasn’t a “long or off-feeling wait time”. There was no one at the restaurant. Chairs were on the tables and the drive thru was unresponsive because no one was inside. Either the restaurant shut down again or nobody decided to show up for work.

They ran out of everything worse staff ever needs to closed down

6/23/26: Believe it or not, despite the recent negative reviews, this location has improved drastically. Customer service is not top notch but it's still better than when there was an unprofessional Hispanic manager who would let his teenager employees cursing out loud through the drive thru window. The manager failed to correct the employees and was joking around with the teens back then. I took my kids to dine in today and the air conditioner is down. I feel bad for the employees working with no cool air.

I came by for lunch today, while the weather was really nasty outside, and the Internet service had gone out. Unfortunately, they were unable to take orders. However, the store manager MJ took care of me. She gave me my meal and treated me with the upmost kindness. I will go out of my way to come back to this Popeyes location great place.

The absolute worst customer series i have ever recieved. Online it says it closes at 12am and I showed up at 10pm. There was two employees arguing at the parking lot. We pull into the drive through and kept talking into the speaker and no one would take the order. We then drove up to the window and the was just 6 employees standing there laughing at us. They ignored us again the they finall asked what we wanted. We said nothing because at that point I dont trust you to make my food. Shut this store down The date was jun 19

Excellent experience all around. Food quality, timing of order, etc. Thank you!

I almost never leave reviews but this location so bad. The staff have zero customer service skills. In the drive thru when giving an order the girl almost cuts you off asking if thats it. I always have to say i have another order then sometimes they will cut you off by saying hold on then leave you sitting for several minutes before they come back on to take the rest of my order. Then they tell you to pull up to the front and they'll bring the food out. Took 25min with no one coming out to say anything before i went i side to see if they forgot about me since they barely had any other customers. And they were just getting my order together. The staff had no sense of urgency and they almost always mess up my orders. Been going to this location off/on for 3yrs and it has not improved at all. Wonder if I'll get the generic response from the owner like everyone else in here knowing nothing will change. Put the staff thru customer service training, please!

The manager was really rude..the lady who took my order..looked like a manager..she asked me if I need spicy or original..and I sjust gave myself a minute to think..she started like aaahhh, spicy or original..she was very rude..the chicken , 2.piece meal was cold too..just the fries were good.. This lady or manager needs to be fired.. She had 2 helpers, 1 was filling and the other was cooking..seemed to be nice people..but didn't have a say so in front of the rude manager.. The place was not busy at all..I am not going to this Popeyes anymore..

I gave up on the KFC next door because of their poor service so I tried Popeyes for lunch, only to find they’re closed till 1PM. What, they want to wait for a less busy time to open? But after reading the reviews here maybe they did me a favor.

Dian was such an amazing experience, she single handedly made my whole familys day and i will go out my way to come to this specific location every time i want Popeyes. Love her!!!!

Ordered thru Uber Eats. Was missing the apple pie I paid for. The mashed potatoes were so disgusting, tasted like chalk. Never ever ever have I had anything this nasty from Popeyes usually the potatoes and gravy is the best. Not this time, I cannot express how nasty it was. Food was cold (not their fault probably Uber Eats was slow) but missing item and disgusting tasting food..: their fault. Won’t order from here again

Is it too much to ask for this place to hire staff who are friendly and polite? The manager here is rude and disrespectful. I walked into the store, and she was screaming—I don't know who she called "stupid," but she doesn't show even the slightest bit of respect toward anyone. She always has a terrible attitude. If she doesn't like working, what is she doing at this store? Honestly, such rude staff members shouldn't be working in customer service roles.

They are very hit and miss on quality of food and service

This place is utterly disgusting and despicable! Trash everywhere!

Today I went to one of the restaurants and placed my order through the drive-thru. I paid, and the cashier told me to park because they were waiting for the fries to complete my order. I parked, waited about 15 minutes, and nothing happened. I decided to go inside to see what was going on with my order after I paid, and it turns out the cashier had completely forgotten about it. It's always the same at that store; the employees are really rude, and I don't recommend anyone buy from there. The service is awful. Someone needs to take any action to fix that problem.

Love the food, the service sucks. I come almost every Wednesday night and it is just so slow.

Food took so long … staff didn’t move fast at all

Deberían tener cuidado al seleccionar al personal para trabajar. Pareciera q están molestas es como si te estuvieran regalando la comida de muy mala gana. Lástima q no puedo darle 0 estrellas

REALLY REALLY SLOW SERVICE. DON'T BE IN A HURRY OR HAVE TO BE SOMEWHERE!!
-
ordered 12 piece meal, given no sr. discount, was given no reciept, even thought a requested both several times. When order came up had to request the missing items be added to bag, recieved them following additional wait. Chicken was overcooked, dried out and cold, large side of coleslaw was only filled barely half way. Servers attitude was basically one of complete lack of concern. This place historically runs lukewarm to cold, with an occasional good experience, but tonight was really bad.

How does a chicken restaurant run out of chicken????
-
Very good service, manager and staff were very friendly and food was excellent

I honestly don’t understand how this Popeyes location on Mitchell Hammock stays in business. Every time I go, they’re out of chicken—like, the main thing they sell. It’s beyond frustrating to wait in line or go through the drive-thru just to be told they have nothing available. Keep in mind I was the only customer in the place. On top of that, the employees are consistently rude and seem completely uninterested in helping customers. Basic courtesy goes a long way, and it’s clearly lacking here. When I asked for the owners phone number they told me look it up myself. Then I was told there was no management available either. What really pushed it over the edge for me, though, is the condition of the place. The inside has an unpleasant, foul odor, and it doesn’t feel clean at all. It makes you question how the food is being handled behind the scenes. Definitely not coming back. There are way better options nearby that actually have food, treat customers with respect, and maintain a clean environment. Something drastic really needs to happen here before someone dies from food poisoning or slips on the greasy floor and gets injured. Being a business person myself I’m sure this location is bleeding money keeping its doors open when in fact it can be a highly profitable and model location. A consultation is definitely needed and fast!!
