Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
The recurring subject in this corpus is the staff, not the food in general. Front-of-house tends to be raised approvingly here, averaging 5.0 stars.
Of the 23 rated reviews, 23 sit at four stars or better and 0 at two or below.
Against that, the kitchen inspects well — an A (91/100), 1 intermediate and 6 basic violations at the most recent DBPR visit. The visit behind that grade was March 4, 2026. On health score it sits safer than 44% of the St. Lucie County restaurants we grade. For specifics, the last inspection cited potentially hazardous foods properly thawed and cross-contamination.
With both signals pointing the same way, there is little to argue about on this listing. Full reviews follow below in the order they were left.

Good food. Good service. Just not a fine dining experience. Solid but not fancy.

The staff were super nice and very accommodating and the food was delicious (we ordered all veg and it was amazing). Will definitely be visiting again!

Had the Gobi Manchurian, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Chicken Biryani for lunch. It was excellent. Great flavors, great service, and very clean. Will continue to come and eat here.

Don’t underestimate from the outside, inside is an authentic and delicious Indian restaurant. Tastes like Home cooked food. Great service and gracious people.
-
Great atmosphere. Reasonable prices for quality and portion. Sucks they don’t open before evening but it’s worth the wait!

We have been to Taj many times and will return many more. They have a wonderful selection of vegetarian dishes that are aromatic and richly flavorful. The atmosphere is simple and casual, and the service is always top-notch.

Since moving to FL from the DC area, we’ve missed our friends at our favorite Indian/Nepali restaurant. Today we ate at Taj to celebrate our daughter’s graduation and were welcomed with smiles, warm hospitality, and some of the best Indian cuisine we’ve ever had. We will be back and will bring many friends with us!

Absolutely loved the food and experience! The momos were fresh, juicy, and full of flavor. The biryani was perfectly cooked with rich spices and amazing aroma. The goat curry was tender, flavorful, and one of the best I’ve had. Dal was comforting and delicious, while the naan was soft, warm, and paired perfectly with the lamb dishes. Every item tasted authentic and made with care. Great service, welcoming atmosphere, Thank you owner Rajendra for his outstanding hospitality, professionalism, and dedication to delivering an exceptional customer service definitely a place I’ll visit again. Highly recommended for anyone who loves quality South Asian food!

All varieties of their food is delicious and authentic Indian cuisine. My husband and I usually go on Sundays for the buffet. The rice pudding is heaven !!!

Not only the food well prepared and seasoned (Super delicious) but the presentation was nice. On top of that the service was absolutely outstanding. Ranjit was our server and not only was he very attentive to our needs but he was also very knowledgeable of the menu and the variety of spices. He also made some recommendations based on foods that we normally enjoy. We will definitely be back to try some other dishes.

First time I've been here and it was a great experience... We came on the weekend for the all you can eat .. I tried every piece of meat and it was very favored and tasty... I always try/ ask for spicy food and every restaurant I try has plan jane hot sauce this restaurant has authentic family vibes with homemade taste... Very thankful my wife wanted to try something new ... I wouldn't have known this gem was hidden in the strip ...

The best Indian restaurant I have had in Florida so far. When I lived here I would come atleast 3 times a month. Always the best service, fresh food and friendly staff. It’s truly a local gem. Every Indian restaurant I try falls short compared to taj. Everything is good but the lentil soup, haka noodles, tikka masala and the gobi Manchurian are my favorite.
