Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
The headline average flatters this listing; the recent half does not. Reviewers who mention service rate this place 4.2 on average — it is working in the restaurant’s favour.
If you had to pick one number to represent this corpus it would be 5, the most frequently given rating (17 reviews). 17 of 23 rated reviews are four stars or higher; 5 are two or lower.
On the inspection side the picture is cleaner: DBPR graded this kitchen an A (100/100) with no violations cited. Whatever the reviews argue about, sanitation is not the weak point. DBPR last walked in on April 7, 2026. Across its inspection history the kitchen is improving, which argues for giving it the benefit of the doubt. On health score it sits safer than 100% of the Seminole County restaurants we grade. The inspector left without citing anything — worth noting, since most visits find something.
Both measures agree, which is the least complicated version of this page. Read the originals below and judge the pattern yourself.

So ....we just went to cheddars in Sanford. We had the fries and Monte Cristo sandwich. Literally everything was soggy and soaked with oil. Gross 🤢. How do you fry something and it comes up soggy and limp? I grabbed the sandwich and my fingers sunk into the bread like quick sand.. It's supposed to be crispy. They obviously didn't have the oil up to temperature so everything soaked up the oil. It was absolutely disgusting. The poor waitress may or may not have noticed that we didn't eat our food after it was served, but she was tending bar and running her butt off serving food. One person doing all of that work, what the heck?! That is more than one person should have to do. Anyway, she was fine. It was just the cook that did an awful job. I mean the last time I was here I had a pot pie that was spoiled. I don't know how you guys stay in business. The workers are working and doing what they have to do, but something is really wrong back in the kitchen. This is my third time having a bad experience and I'm afraid I'm not coming back. I would've said something to the waitress, but she was running her tail off so it is what it is. My husband thought we could take it home and put it in the oven but I mean I shouldn't have to do that. I shouldn't have to bleed the oil out of our sandwich that we just purchased five minutes ago. It's very irritating. We paid $55 bucks to cook our own meals. What a disappointment. Next time I'll buy a steak and cook it at home instead of eating a…

I had dinner at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen with my family, and we all left happy with our meals. The food was served hot, the portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh. Our server was friendly, kept our drinks refilled, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, making it easy to enjoy our time there. I'd definitely come back when I'm looking for a satisfying meal at a reasonable price.

Had the ribs and it was not good at all...the broccoli casserole was good.

We came here after my wife and her son arrived at the Orlando airport and were starving for good food. I chose the Spasagna. My wife chose the fish combination and her son got chicken with noodles. They started us with complimentary croissants topped with honey butter sauce. We got the spinach cheese dip and chips for an appetizer. We drank water. Our server was Gianna, a nursing student with a great demeanor and professional attitude. Very charming.

I had an awesome waitress at the Sanford location. Chloe was amazing from the time I sat down and placed my order, ate my food, and paid the bill. Such a genuine and awesome personality, it’s hard to find those qualities these days. Keep up the great work Chloe.

The Spinach dip was good as always. The steak and cheese was too salty for me.

Everything I ordered was too salty, and overall, inedible. I have a CIA certificate, I ran a 4 star kitchen in 70's & 80's, I know food. Potato soup was a bowl of glue, horrible, Caesar salad was sopping in wayyy too much dressing, meat loaf was ugly to look at and way too salty, cheese cake was unremarkable. I didn't complain, I just wanted to get out of there, the waiter was a super nice guy, I don't think I'm going back after this unpleasant experience.

Best price and service. 👌 El croissant 😍

My family and I stopped by Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen on a busy weekend afternoon, and we were pleasantly surprised by how smoothly everything went. Even with the restaurant being fairly crowded, our food arrived hot and fresh, and our server remained attentive throughout the meal. I ordered the chicken tenders with sides, and everything tasted homemade and well-prepared. The portions were generous, so I even had leftovers to take home. For the quality of the food and the level of service we received, it felt like a great value and a place I'd definitely visit again.
