The direction of travel is downward across these 20 reviews. Front-of-house cuts both ways here, averaging 3.5 among the reviews that raise it. Price follows at 25% of reviews, where ratings average 4.2.
Behind those, how food arrives is raised in 20% of reviews (4.0 average). The single most common rating left here is 5 stars (12 of 20). The split is 12 positive to 6 negative across 20 rated reviews, with 2 in the middle.
Against that, the kitchen inspects well — an A (95/100), 5 basic violations at the most recent DBPR visit. The visit behind that grade was May 29, 2026. Its inspection trajectory is upward over the records we hold. That puts it ahead of 63% of graded kitchens in Indian River County. For specifics, the last inspection cited cross-contamination and insects/rodents/pests.

We looked up where to go for breakfast as we were headed home from a stay nearby this location, and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was jubilant. They sat a group of 8 quickly. Our waitress was super friendly and spent time explaining what was good on the menu. The food was hot, fresh and tasty! The kids ate everything on their plate. They said they weren't hungry. Lol If we visit the area again, we would definitely be here again!

I love Pelican Diner. Its not fancy and that's what I love about it. I had the Turkey Melt on Wheat. I don't think I will order it again, it just didn't have much flavor. The kitchen didn't do anything wrong I maybe should have ordered it on rye. I will go back again and try something else.

"HOSTESS" WAS RUDE! PRICES REALLY WENT UP!! NOT THE SAME PLACE ANYMORE. WON'T BE GOING BACK. GO GET SEAFOOD ON THE WATER, SAME PRICE!!

Used to love this place, but now maybe the least friendly places I have ever eaten. Hope your new clientele are as loyal as your old customers WONT be back

Excellent prompt courteous service.

This was a very strange experience. The dining room was so dark and messy. It was not inviting at all. The manager handed me the menu and silverware with instructions on to carry the silverware. What? Do I look like a 2 year old? The food was okay but nothing special. The muffin was served raw but nobody returned to check on the food so I had to find the server to return the raw muffin. I went to pay the bill only to get more instructions on where to stand. I don't work here, I'm the customer and should be treated as such. There are far better choices in the area.

This was by far the worse experience I have had. We were in town on vacation and were looking forward to a diner breakfast. My husband was on the golf course. The hostess was not personable, no greeting, no smile. Once we got our table, it took more than 15 minutes to be greeted. It wasn’t that busy. Once greeted, it was a “what do you want?” No one checked on us after the food came. My daughter’s pancakes smelled and tasted sour. She didn’t eat them. We had to go to the bar to get our check because the server was talking to other staff. Once I paid, the lady that took the payment again had no personality. No “Thank you” or “have a good day”. It was sad because we always find the good in even bad experiences, but this was the worse I have had. I hope no one else has to experience this. 😔

I absolutely love the food here, it’s unmatched. The reason for the 1 star review is because it doesn’t matter how good the food is, if the service is poor it ruins the entire experience. On Mother’s Day, I chose this place to enjoy breakfast and when entering the hostess was beyond rude. I asked how long of a wait and I was met with a scoff and an attitude filled “It’s long wait.” When I asked “okay that’s fine, how long give or take?” Again rudely replied “It’s a very long wait.” This is the second time I’ve had this issue with this hostess specifically. We took our business elsewhere. Whoever owns or manages this restaurant needs observe how their patrons are being tended to. This old lady has no business being in the service industry.

Excellent service excellent lunch. Fair prices. Wife enjoyed the lobster roll.

This is the 2nd time I've been there, since they moved from US1. Food quality is mediocre at best, service is beyond slooooow. Should never ever have to ask more than once, where my orange juice is. Food coming out at different times, and different levels of heat. Atleast my pancakes were nice and hot, compared to my room temperature eggs that came out 5min before my pancakes. I wonder why it's been so long since I've been there, could it be mediocre food or the sloooooow service. I'll let y'all figure it out for yourselves.

We have been here for both breakfast and lunch. The meals were excellent and our waitress both times was Laurie. 5 Stars Service! When we came in for lunch on a Sunday, it was really busy! And she never let us feel neglected. She was on it the entire time.

La comida esta bien, pero las sodas, las 3 veces que he ido...saben a agua sucia.

Normally we like this place but then my 24 YO son got carded with valid, yet portrait-oriented license. Bartender declined it, but it’s 100% valid and he’s 24, AND they accepted it several times before. The rude barkeep started arguing and threatened to call the cops!!! IS SHE ON the RAG OR JUST Nuts????

Wonderful atmosphere, greeter/seater could use a little more personality. Food was great and very tasty. Portion size was plenty. Price was reasonable. Plenty of seating. Large menu available.

Great food. Friendly service. Fantastic prices. Good for families.

Located at the Sebastian Golf Course in the main building next to the pro shop! This is our go to breakfast spot in Sebastian Florida! Fresh biscuits made daily! The staff and service is top tier and very friendly!! They are the only restaurant I’ve found in Indian River County that serves Scrapple and they cook it to perfection! Enjoy your food while watching some golfers try their luck at a chase your ball game!! A very comfortable and quiet atmosphere!!! 5⭐️ ALL DAY!

Haven’t been to a diner in a long time. But everything there was great.

We were down in the area visiting friends. They suggested The Pelican Diner for lunch. The place was very clean with views of the golf course. The food was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Our waitress was on top of everything and checked on us multiple times. This is definitely a place I will visit on my next trip down to that area.
