Community Rating
Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
The recurring subject in this corpus is front-of-house, not the food in general. The staff tends to be raised approvingly here, averaging 5.0 stars.
24 of 24 rated reviews are four stars or higher; 0 are two or lower. More reviewers landed on 5 stars than any other score — 21 of 24.
Against that, the kitchen inspects well — an A (100/100), nothing cited at the most recent DBPR visit. That result dates from June 3, 2026. Its inspection trajectory is upward over the records we hold. Ranked against Brevard County, it is safer than 100% of the restaurants we score. The inspector left without citing anything — worth noting, since most visits find something.
Nothing here pulls in opposite directions — an unusually clean read. The underlying reviews are reproduced in full underneath.

Absolutely wonderful! Read about this place and drive down from Ponce Inlet to try it. I had fried chicken livers and black eyed peas. My wife had a vegetable plate with collards, limas, potato salad and fried okra. Best soul food on the east coast of FL! WE WILL BE BACK!!!

Great place with great food. A family favorite. Update-Back again for the umteenth time and it's still great comfort food. When the grands come to visit, they always say, "let's go to Loyd's!!"

We don’t usually write reviews, but this place absolutely deserves one. Everything we ordered was beyond amazing! truly some of the best Southern food we’ve had. It rivals restaurants in New Orleans, and that says a lot! And the dessert? so good! We also want to recognize our server, “VG” (listed on our receipt). She was so kind, helpful, and welcoming, and she made our daughter’s experience so special too. Our daughter ordered the catfish from the adult menu, and it was so good she almost finished the whole plate! Amazing food, wonderful service, and we’ll definitely be back!

Carrot cake souffle was fabulous and a borderline dessert. Chicken and dumplings were tender and swimming in buttery gravy. Banana pudding was to die for, if only I hadn't ordered the key lime pie first! Ask for Miss V, she'll treat you right.

Came for dinner on a Wednesday night. We will def be back soon. Hadn't been here in quite some time and its just as good as I remember. I ordered the livers and gizzards with side of Mac n cheese and the carrot souffle. Wife ordered the pot roast dinner special with mashed potatoes and fried green tomatoes. Service was great. Good came out pretty quick, but not super fast or noticeably "long". The food was fantastic. Perfectly seasoned. The livers weren't dry from being overly fried like some places. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we look forward to coming back soon and bringing some friends and family that we know love good southern cooking. A+++

We recently celebrated my mom’s birthday at Loyd Have Mercy, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! As it turned out, we visited on one of their monthly live music nights, which made the evening even more special. The food was outstanding—everything we ordered was flavorful, fresh, and cooked to perfection. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the menu and the preparation. Every bite was delicious! The atmosphere was equally impressive. Between the warm, welcoming environment and the live music, there was such a fun and lively energy throughout the restaurant. It created the perfect backdrop for a birthday celebration and made the night feel memorable from start to finish. The staff (especially Ms. V) was friendly and attentive, and the combination of great food, excellent service, and fantastic entertainment made for an unforgettable evening. We left already talking about when we could come back the next time we are in Florida! If you’re looking for a restaurant with amazing food, a great atmosphere, and occasional live music that takes the experience to the next level, Loyd Have Mercy is definitely worth a visit! Highly recommend!
-
Wonderful meal. Excellent price. Nicest server ever. A family was celebrating a high school graduation so a festive atmosphere. Loved the meatloaf, fried chicken and collards!

We've wanted to try Loyd Have Mercy since we saw it on Restaurant Impossible years ago. We finally made it today. We both had the fried chicken, which was excellent. Freshly fried to order and great taste. For sides, we had lima beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese, and fried okra. All were excellent. Sweet tea was delicious. The rest of the menu all sounded delicious. Loyd came out and talked to us personally (as he did with other tables). He and his wife are wonderful and so friendly. Definitely recommend trying it.

Loyd Have Mercy was one of my best restaurant experiences. Loyd came out and watched us enjoy his food with a smile on his face. What a wonderful place. Great servers, atmosphere and menu. It's an hr and a half drive from Palm Coast but worth it. I will be there again in June. LOVE IT!

Carrot soufflé is so flavorful for a non carrot eater. Yummmy. My husband and loved the bbq meatloaf.dessert has a really flavorful strawberry cake yum. We really like our meals of fried chicken green beans, meatloaf dinner and mash taters. The Fried green Tomatoes and sauce are wicked good. The Mac n cheese was super yummy. Fresh peach cobbler was gobbled up. Will be back.

I went with my mom and brother 2 weeks ago and I’m still thinking about the food. I’m glad I took the rest to go because it was just as good the next day! I would definitely come back again if I’m in Florida. Ms. V was also so wonderful and made our first experience here that much better. Thank you and I hope to be back soon!

Out of this world amazing! 1000 stars! We are visiting from Australia and this is by far the best food we have had on our trip. Clean and modern diner with delicious food & outstanding service. Miss V & owner Loyd were the nicest people. Couldn’t be happier. :)
