One subject runs through these 19 reviews more than any other: the staff. Reviewers who mention front-of-house rate this place 4.7 on average — it is working in the restaurant’s favour. After that, wait times appears most often — 26% of the corpus, averaging 5.0.
Of the 19 rated reviews, 17 sit at four stars or better and 2 at two or below. A third strand, how food arrives, appears in 16% of them at 2.7 stars. The single most common rating left here is 5 stars (17 of 19).
On the inspection side the picture is cleaner: DBPR graded this kitchen an A (97/100), with 3 basic violations. Whatever the reviews argue about, sanitation is not the weak point. The visit behind that grade was February 5, 2026. Its inspection trajectory is upward over the records we hold. On health score it sits safer than 74% of the Indian River County restaurants we grade. For specifics, the last inspection cited handwashing and storage & handling of clean equipment and utensils.

Excellent food, great atmosphere of a hidden gem, and very friendly, thoughtful staff! Would highly recommend the Natural Salad with Salmon or Shrimp if you love salads - it comes loaded with all the perfect, high-quality toppings. Meals always come with a dessert, so that is a nice bonus!

Great staff & food!

Came here with family for dinner and was really disappointed. None of the food had any flavor or seemed like it was fresh. The crab stuffed flounder was mushy (probably frozen?) and flavorless. The collard greens didnt taste like anything. The Mac N Cheese was just pre-made stouffers. You could only taste the peanuts in the chocolate pudding w/peanut butter crumble - the chocolate didnt taste like anything. The staff was friendly and the view of the airport is nice but the food was very low quality and none of it seemed fresh or homemade. Especially disappointing when paying $40 per person pre-tip. Ive heard this place has great breakfast but I cant see myself wanting to come back here after that experience.

Had a fantastic experience at C.J. Cannons! The prime rib was absolutely phenomenal—cooked perfectly, flavorful, and one of the best I’ve had. What really made the visit stand out was our waitress, Paula. She was friendly, attentive, and provided outstanding service from start to finish. Paula made sure everything was perfect, kept drinks filled, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Great food, great atmosphere, and exceptional service. We’ll definitely be back, and we hope to see Paula again! Highly recommend the prime rib and asking for Paula if you’re lucky enough to have her as your server.

I have never been disappointed eating here. If you are just here for a quick airport stop or a local looking for yummy food and a vintage airport vibe this is your place. Today had a craving for fruit. Oh and a yummy omelet! It was perfect. 👌

The food is fabulous and the service was amazing. Our server, April, is a breath of fresh air. Southern charm and hospitality. Thanks April for making our lunch experience feel like you knew us🩷

This was our second visit and we wanted to bring our kids after coming during Christmas a couple years ago! Love the whole vibe and April was an amazing server! Portions are large and the food is very good!

So many delicious choices I must go back to try more. Great service and interesting aviation history decor.

This is a great restaurant. It features home style cooking. The meat loaf was very good. And we got peach cobler for dessert. We are making this a regular stop when we visit Florida.

Quick service. Got take out.

Food was terrible steak had a weird taste and my prime rib was flavorless and boiled not a piece cut off the roast… it came out looking gray with a side of the saltiest au su so I definitely knew not fresh 😕. Ordered mushrooms as appetizers terrible… just dumped out of bag into deep fat fryer.. nasty flavorless. You people that recommend this place as having great food YOU never had and probably can’t make good food. Definitely won’t be back what a waste of money.

Fast friendly service, fantastic food, great atmosphere (aviation, old movies, and music). Every time I return to Florida I make a trip to C.J. Cannon's!
