What diners say — our read

Little tension on this listing: diners rate it well and the kitchen graded well. Opinion on what it costs is split — those reviews land at 3.9 on average.

Wait times shows up in 15% of reviews as well, averaging 4.3. 5 stars is the modal score, given by 15 of the 20 reviewers who rated. Of the 20 rated reviews, 16 sit at four stars or better and 2 at two or below.

The health record runs ahead of the reviews. The last DBPR inspection returned an A (99/100) with 1 basic violations. That inspection was on June 2, 2026. The trend across inspections is improvement. Ranked against Indian River County, it is safer than 86% of the restaurants we score. Among the items recorded were nonfood-contact surfaces clean.

Nothing here pulls in opposite directions — an unusually clean read. Everything above is computed from the 20 reviews reproduced below.

Beautiful as always. Great deal in the membership rate. Waiting for the corpse flower to bloom

Princess Pungent is so close! Get the Membership! It is so worth it. I have been multiple time throughout the year to see the different displays and the plants are so interesting to see the changes during the seasons. Cafe is staffed with great people, friendly and happy 😊. Food is good too. The Membership is not only to McGee but many gardens all over the atate if Florida🌻

Family of 5 went. Cost $100. Not worth it. Should of been $25 for what we saw & did

Here for the water Lilly festival. They've created new paths before the children's garden, more plants and lots of benches. Beautiful and peaceful, as always!

Absolutely beautiful botanical gardens! I will say if you’re looking for that wicker arch everyone talks about it was damaged in a storm a few years ago so they had to tear it down. However, the gardens are very much still worth a visit! Definitely bring bug spray the mosquitoes ate us up.

Mckee Botanical Garden is an absolute gem. From the moment you step onto the path, you feel the stress of everyday life simply melt away. The winding journey through the woods is thoughtfully laid out, drawing you deeper into a world of lush greenery, dappled sunlight, and the kind of quiet that reminds you how restorative nature can truly be. We brought the whole family, and it was one of those rare outings where everyone from the youngest to the oldest, everyone was genuinely engaged. There's something magical about walking among towering trees and beautiful plantings that sparks curiosity and conversation in a way that screens never could. The kids were wide-eyed, and honestly, so were the adults. There is a special place for the kids to run around and enjoy as well. The kids can and probably will spend at least 30 minutes running around and enjoying nature. The grounds are well-maintained without feeling overly manicured. It strikes that perfect balance between wild and welcoming. Every turn along the trail revealed something new to admire, a burst of color, an interesting specimen, a quiet clearing perfect for pausing and just breathing it all in. If you're looking for a meaningful way to spend time with the people you love, Mckee Botanical Gardens delivers. We'll absolutely be back.

It is a large facility and the home is cool. Our tour guide went through it very quickly and I didn’t feel as though I learned as much as I could have about the house vs other historical home tours I’ve attended. The gardens are huge and have several nice areas for picnics. There are a decent amount of flowers some herbs and other plants. I would have liked to see more design ideas with the plants and arrangements but I understand that the will does not allow for new building but only new planting. With that being said maybe some plants being arranged differently would help ( not sure ). But a nice place to spend a few hours and a good long walk. for us we would not visit more than once but still worth seeing.

We had such a wonderful day at McKee Botanical Garden. The gardens are absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and kid-friendly. The toddler's favorite parts were hunting for all the adorable fairy houses in the children's garden and finding the kaleidoscope! The winding paths, lush tropical plants, and interactive features made it easy to keep a little one engaged while still giving the adults plenty to enjoy. It was the perfect day trip and a great mix of nature, creativity, and adventure.
