What diners say — our read

55% of reviews here touch on service, more than any other theme. Reviewers who mention service rate this place 4.9 on average — it is working in the restaurant’s favour.

One subject never comes up here: how long an order takes. If you had to pick one number to represent this corpus it would be 5, the most frequently given rating (14 reviews). Newer reviews score better than older ones (5.0 recent against 4.6 earlier), so direction is worth weighing alongside the average.

On the health side, the most recent DBPR inspection returned a B (89/100) with 1 high-priority and 3 basic violations — middling, much like the reviews. DBPR last walked in on March 10, 2026. That puts it ahead of 40% of graded kitchens in Orange County. The citations behind that grade include cross-contamination and food-contact surfaces clean and sanitized.

Both measures agree, which is the least complicated version of this page. Read the originals below and judge the pattern yourself.

Wow! Words are just not enough to describe our time at The Alfond Inn. Immaculate rooms, service, location. We loved every second!

I have stayed at this property four times and it is my favorite property in the world. I have worked for 30 years with top consulting firms and have stayed at some amazing hotels. The location, service and attention to detail set this place apart The pool is relaxing and perfect in scale. The fitness center is well equipped. Much more than nearly any hotel I have been at (except for maybe the Grove Park Inn). They have 3 different options for dining/drinking. We tried all three. The cafe was perfect for breakfast, the bar perfect for watching the World Cup and the dining room was used at dinner. I had a salad and crab cake and it was excellent. My wife got the grilled cauliflower and it was not what she was expecting so proceed with caution (you may like it). Other suggestions for dining/misc. are: Antonio's in Maitland, Briarpatch for breakfast, New General for coffee, Harp and Celt for drinking, and the Enzian for cinema. I hope this review helps others have as good a time as my wife and I did.

I have held several conferences and attended several conferences here and had a pleasant experience each time. The facility is beautiful and the food is great. Parking was the only issue.

Always enjoy staying here, it’s a beautiful hotel with fantastic service. The gym and eateries are great. I also adore the location, just a short walk from shops and dining.

Beautiful place. Interesting original art work throughout. Best thing about my stay was how genuinely nice and helpful everyone was. No fake smiles or bad attitudes. I felt welcomed and they seemed grateful that I chose to stay at their Inn.

Nice smallish size hotel/ art gallery display of quality pieces. Great room with comfy beds and nice bath. The food service is fine not over the top.

I didn't stay there, though I admit I was tempted to. It’s a beautiful place. I stopped by to visit Hamilton's Kitchen at the invitation of Rollins College.

Beautiful property. I have traveled extensively in the area, and I think Alfond is the finest hotel in all of Central Florida. The location is amazing, walk to the beautiful downtown Winter park area. The atmosphere is wonderful, rooms are top notch, value is actually pretty solid considering how nice it is. Everything is totally clean and service is great.

    Great location and wonderful staff.

The hotel is lovely, and the service is good. The only thing I didn't like was that there are two pools—one with a Jacuzzi and a standard one. They wouldn't let us use the Jacuzzi pool; apparently, it was reserved for "other types of guests." I paid $500 for this hotel, yet I couldn't use its Jacuzzi. So, I headed to the other pool—the one for "normal people" like me—and to my surprise, it was dirty. There was green mold clinging to the walls, and something similar—though black—on the bottom. There were even plastic cups stuffed inside the crevices in the pool walls. I didn't dare get in, so I settled for just sunbathing. I think that for that price, the Lake Nona Wave Hotel would have been a better choice; however, given the location, The Alfond Inn seemed like the better option at the time. If they were to fix those little things, I would certainly return.

The best of Winter Park, period!

  • May 29, 2026

We were in Winter Park to visit my daughter and she recommended this hotel. I'm glad she did! The room was comfortable and the location was awesome. Great restaurant for breakfast and nice bar. We'll be back!

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and location. Rooms were comfortable and well kept. Just minor delays during check-in.

The Alfond hits all the marks. The location is excellent for walking to amazing restaurants. The spa was a great place to relax for the day. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We had lunch by the pool at the spa and it was delicious! We enjoyed drinks in the evening outside before dinner. Breakfast from the cafe was perfect before we ended our stay relaxing by the pool. We will definitely be returning and are looking forward to our next stay! Thank you!
