What diners say — our read

The most recent reviews here are worse than the older ones — 2.5 against 4.7. Freshness and temperature cuts both ways here, averaging 3.6 among the reviews that raise it. Front-of-house is the next most common subject, in 28% of reviews (averaging 4.0).

If you had to pick one number to represent this corpus it would be 5, the most frequently given rating (9 reviews). 11 of 18 rated reviews are four stars or higher; 5 are two or lower. What it costs shows up in 22% of reviews as well, averaging 3.3.

The inspection lands in between as well: DBPR graded this kitchen a C (75/100), citing 1 high-priority, 3 intermediate, and 8 basic violations. DBPR last walked in on February 18, 2026. Across its inspection history the kitchen is declining, which argues for reading the older reviews with caution. That puts it ahead of 12% of graded kitchens in Orange County. The citations behind that grade include dishwashing facilities and wiping cloths.

The honest summary is that the evidence is mixed on both sides. Read the originals below and judge the pattern yourself.

They served me undercooked, or bad clams on the chowder soup along with raw potatoes. The calamari was tainted! Eating raw clams comes with a risk of foodborne illness caused by bacteria like Vibrio, viruses such as norovirus, and natural marine toxins. While you may experience no ill effects if the shellfish are strictly regulated and properly handled, consuming raw clams can lead to severe gastrointestinal distress, fever, and dehydration. Now I'm sick to my stomach! I'm never eating here again and I will boycott this facility to everyone I can! Eat at your own risk!

Boston’s in Winter Park is beyond excellent for their food and service. They offer the best whole belly fried clams in the area. Their atmosphere is all about New England. We have been there often and never have been disappointed. If you are looking for authentic New England seafood, Boston’s is the best around.

  • June 22, 2026

I don't think you could get blander food if you tried! Eat a bunch of cut up cardboard instead, that will have more flavor!. Clam chowed cold, coagulated, raw potatoes and slimy raw clams. Absolutely atrocious.

Boston’s Fish House feels like the kind of place you’d accidentally discover on a road trip and then spend the next five years telling people about. The menu is packed with New England-style seafood favorites, the portions are generous, and the whole place has that comfortable nautical vibe that says, “we’re more concerned with good seafood than being trendy.” I came hungry and left questioning whether I had accidentally ordered enough food for a small fishing crew. No regrets. Fresh seafood, friendly service, and zero pretension. In a state overflowing with seafood restaurants, this one has managed to stick around for a reason. If you’re craving fish, shrimp, scallops, chowder, or anything that belongs near a lighthouse, Boston’s Fish House is worth the stop. 🌶️

The having to pay for your meal before you even sit down is very tacky. My wife got the bisque and I got the dried claws. The bisque was very salty and thick, almost like a store bought soup. My clams were stringy and unchewable. The breading was good but had to spit out three clams before i just giving up. The water was good and my wife liked the bread sticks. I would stay away and try a different option of your able. Some people might agree but this was my experience.

Terrible food that had zero flavor and SUPER expensive. Not worth it at all.

You order at the cash register pay get seated. They were super attentive filling up drinks. I was pleasantly surprised at the attention we received from the wait staff. The chowder was good the steamers were a little gritty. The Mahi was wonderful . The Captain platter was large fresh fish clams or shrimp and was delicious. The fries onion rings garlic bread and Boston crème pie were very good. Highly recommended

Decent place to get New England seafood. All was fresh. Options are good size. Baskets are an excellent deal. Not a fan of onion rings as the main part of a seafood platter. I am from Maine and there, it’s fries and usually a piece of fish not nuggets though. The Boston cream pie was okay. One slice was dry other was okay. All fries food tasted the same. Food really needs to be salted out of the fryer or in general. Most lacked it though even non fried stuff. Much of it is bland. Place is very warm.

    It's was great food

First surprise was you have to order, pay and tip before you’re seated, so either you must make your decisions from the menu or know ahead what you want. Service was okay. However, the food lacked any taste, no seasoning on anything fried not just my combo captains plate (that’s not scallops IDK what it is but not scallops weird taste, fish bites are good flaky moist). Coleslaw served in a styrofoam cup is very watery. Broccoli bacon salad is pretty good served in Styrofoam cup. Sorry just being honest in hopes it might help make a difference (seasoning salt pepper old bay something). This isn’t what I remembered last time I visited years ago. I was so looking forward to a really good seafood dinner.

    Great fresh fried seafood

  • May 20, 2026

Only complaint I have is that it's pretty expensive, no matter what you get. The sweet tea is great.

  • May 20, 2026

The clams box (no sides) were so good (whole bellied). I had them once and they were half raw, but that appears to have been an isolated incident. Husband had the fried scallop plate

Came in for lunch on Friday May 15. We had the lunch special and all 4 of us really enjoyed our meals. Our sever Mercedeswas excellent! ( I’m not sure her name is Mercedes but I know it begins with The coconut shrimp was delicious as was the blackened salmon. Really enjoyed this spot and will definitely come back!

This is a classic Orlando restaurant. The food is great, you order before you sit down, so your wait is not long. I had the salmon shish kabobs with baked beans and broccoli salad. Everything was delicious and the place is always busy. My meal was about $20.

Ipswich class and oysters amazing!! Always fresh seafood just outside Winter Park in a shopping center. Lots of parking and relaxed atmosphere.
