What diners say — our read

Something in these 21 reviews keeps circling back to the state of the place — and the grade explains why. Reviews that raise tidiness average just 2.7 stars — this is where the complaints concentrate. After that, service appears most often — 33% of the corpus, averaging 3.1.

The single most common rating left here is 5 stars (11 of 21). Of the 21 rated reviews, 13 sit at four stars or better and 8 at two or below.

The inspection record is the harder read. DBPR graded this kitchen a D (68/100) on 2 high-priority, 4 intermediate, and 4 basic violations — a verdict the review average does not reflect. The visit behind that grade was March 10, 2026. Ranked against Volusia County, it is safer than 11% of the restaurants we score. For specifics, the last inspection cited potentially hazardous foods properly thawed and handwashing.

There is no tension to resolve here: reviewers and the inspector reached similar conclusions. Full reviews follow below in the order they were left.

A hotel is actually getting even better they're cleaning it up and it's been a real it was a nice clean very clean room it's a little bit of a dated hotel so there are its little things that are wrong but it's all in all a really good hotel just watch out for the rental people that like to block out your area in front of the hotel at the beach so if you're going to put your stuff out make sure you're not in the road and make sure to watch your stuff cuz they'll put it right in your line of sight and block you right out

Rented at the last minute and well worth the money. Spacious room and a great view of the beach and ocean. Very clean and host responded quickly. Pool area was clean. The only problem I had was the ants near the grass line. They would swarm around your feet. No other major issues

Glad we could be a part of your vacation. We deliver and pickup for any customer that needs when renting from the best golf cart rental business in Daytona beach.

Just visit this place. I stayed at room 526 which I was told was owned by the hotel. everything in it was old old. The refrigerator didn't keep our food cold. It was not clean. No coffee. Had a coffee maker so why have a coffee maker if you don't have coffee, shampoo and stuff you usually get was nothing in the room. They didn't bring us any more towels and washcloths. It was old and run down. The air conditioner worked good. That's all I can say. That was good about the whole room. The beds were old. The mattress caved in the middle. Don't usually leave a bad review but this was really bad place!!

Me and my family was there from June 5-11 of 2026 and it’s terrible we got a room through the hotel and the room was not furnished like they said it would be and I ask for a frying pan for 2 days in row and they never brought it to me and I had to go buy one and then while cooking the ac vent above the stove was leaking and the pull out bed smell like pee and then the beds was not queen size beds and you could count the springs in the mattress and then I have a 8 and 9 year and they are boys and they couldn’t even throw foot ball or any ball in the pool which is crazy so kids can’t do nothing in pool and then no room service at all to come clean the rooms and then the first night they end up closing the pool because the safety rope came undone and then most pools close at 10 oh no not at this hotel the security comes and makes every one get out at 8pm this is the worse experience me and my family has had and also ppl that did the Airbnb was was even complaining about the rooms. But promise you this is not a hotel you would want you and your family to spend vacation at.. very very terrible. Cops had to be call out twice it’s just a terrible hotel

This little motel fancy but not too big , but it was PERFECT for us for our 3 day weekend in Daytona. The pool sparkled, the room was spotless and updated. Water pressure in the shower was really good, too and view of the beach was perfect

My husband and I stayed here for an overnight stay, 8 hours away. The room was nice but the best thing was Mike at the Tiki Bar. He had great customer service and the food he cooked was delicious. We will definitely be back!

We had a great time. Beautiful view and reasonably priced. Staff was great, especially the tiki bartenders!

Another fabulous vacation in the books. Dont listen to the Karen's out there giving bad reviews. This is a classic hotel with great staff. I've never had an issue with service or cleanliness. Haters can stick to their bougie hotels elsewhere while I keep visiting the Hawaiian Inn.

El amanecer es asombroso sin pagar cientos de dólares ☀️ un lugar mágico, ideal para la familia con niños o simplemente descansar un poco

Been enjoying this place for 57 years (was 8 months old my first time) great place to stay great staff.

  • May 30, 2026

Everything was amazing apart from having to keep getting room card’s almost everyday “rfid sensitive” and say goodbye to that $75 deposit, was told of a smokers fee and yet the first floor by the entrance smelt like straight dank so it’s kinda mid but the beachside part is it’s only savior

This one bedroom condo is very run down,, smelly dirty carpet Thur out, I had to buy cleaning supplies just to get Thur our stay, nice view, nice pool, will never come back

  • May 26, 2026

I just visited the hotel. I did not stay. Old building, weird smell in the lobby and public bathroom. The entire hotel needs to be updated. The room was clean with minimal decor, basic furniture and amenities. The view of the ocean was beautiful.

Book at any hotel but this one!! Horrible customer service will tow your car within 15 minutes of being there with no explanation other than saying it didn’t have a parking pass didn’t even give us time to go up to the room and get our parking passes and saying it wasn’t them it was the security guard and then the security guard is no where to be found after they said he towed it absolutely ridiculous!! Had to pay almost $400 for there little tow scheme they are running! Will never stay here again

  • May 25, 2026

We were staying at Hawaiian in , we booked through air bnb, one of our vehicles was towed from the parking lot . After back in forth with the hotel, air bnb host , security company (third party) and a tow company we were charged over $400 for a tow bill . Informed by the security officer he “ gives people 1 hour” we spoke with a volusia county sheriff , and we were told “ it seems to always be the Airbnb guest having their vehicles towed” then when picking our vehicle up we’re told by a tow company “ yes the hotels and security company’s get kickbacks off of the tows” this is an awful hotel with horrible service if you stay as an air bnb guest we WILL NEVER return!!!

  • May 24, 2026

Absolutely awful if you book thru AIRBNB , they will not treat you as a guest and they will tow your vehicle.

  • May 21, 2026

Great rooms,on beach, bar and food at pool.

  • May 20, 2026

Rooms dirty. Leaky shower. Mold on TV box. Food and dust on telephone. Red and brown stains all over matress and translucent stains all over bed sheets. Even the bathroom towels had hair on them. Canceled reservation and because my wife threw garbage in the garbage can and we pulled the sheets off for pictures and assumed we used the shower they charged us $144 for cleaning fee.
